Mary Lou was a little nervous and she was struggling to hide it. She'd done something completely unexpected and gotten married without even introducing her now husband - she smiled widely at the sound of that word - to her Uncle or her Uncle's partner. She hadn't really meant to do something so reckless, but now that she had she didn't want to change it. She knew he Uncle would probably be surprised, as she was hardly spontaneous, but she'd told them that she would introduce Wendall once she got back from the wedding... she just hadn't realised she was talking about her own!

"Uncle Lou!" she called, squeezing her hands with Wendall's, taking all his strength for herself. She was sure it was okay, but, even still, she wasn't entirely sure how this was going to go and she was genuinely a little worried that it could go badly. But she was going to plan a party for them to go to and now they got to meet Wendall, so she was sure it was all fine, right? She supposed she was about to find out. "Uncle Lou, I've brought Wendall," she would tell them, any minute now she would tell them.

Wendall had no regrets about getting married so young, so suddenly, nor at Leda’s wedding to Mervyn. Sure, maybe it wasn’t the most conventional thing ever, but it felt right to them, and having Mary Lou as his wife completed a little picture of his family that he was incredibly grateful for. Of course, this meant that now they had to let their friends and family know that not only had they gotten engaged, but officially married, and for most that would mean that they’d not been able to attend the wedding. On that list was Mary Lou’s family. Wendall had been lucky that most of his family was already at the ceremony for Leda, but Mary Lou on the other hand hadn’t had hers near. To add insult to injury, Wendall had also never ever met her family, and as he stood nervously beside his wife, he squeezed her hand tightly and tried to ignore how sweaty his palms had become.

”What if they don’t like me?” He asked her quietly as they made their way up to the house. He’d never met a girl’s family before. Heck he’d never had a girl before now to meet the family of. What was he meant to say? What if he made a fool of himself or did something stupid? He only had one chance to make a good first impression, and given that they also had to explain to her family that they were married, he wanted to make sure he got it right.

Erik and Hans had gone out, and Lou was busy making dinner. He wasn't sure when they would be home, but he did know that Mary Lou was supposed to be stopping by with her friend... her boyfriend? Wendall. He had just finished the soup when he heard his niece. "I'm in the kitchen!" He called out, moving to set the hot pot onto the table, setting it on a pan holder to keep it from burning the wood. He moved to get the sweet tea from the fridge, and a new bottle of wine, moving those to the table as well.
