Violet was pacing up and down along the sixth floor corridor, thinking to herself. She was miserable again, lonely, falling behind in her studies, and she felt as though the other third years were only hanging out with her out of pity. That's what she seemed to be, a pity friend. She missed her classes from last term - especially Arithmancy - and had half a mind to go and ask Professor Manteia for extra work, it was all she seemed to be passionate about.
It was funny, thinking about it, she'd only met one person of late she thought she could grow close to, but then he seemed to completely disappear. Maybe it was all a dream. Maybe I'm destined to be alone, forever and ever and ever. The very thought of this made her tear up a little in despair. I need somewhere to cry and not be seen. I need somewhere where I can be miserable and gather my thoughts together.
As she paced the hallway once more, she noticed a door appear out of what seemed to be solid wall. She grinned, despite the tears welling up in her eyes. The Room of Requirement! It must be! Slyly, she darted through the door, hoping nobody else saw. The Room of Requirement would remain her secret for now. She wasn't going to tell the other third years, not on her life. She slumped on to a comfortable chair in the room and relaxed, taking as much time as she needed to think.
