Today was a hot day, and Conan didn't like the heat of the hot sun, even though he always enjoyed being outside. It was almost time for the semester to be over and Conan was excited to see his older siblings during the break again. He did miss them heaps. It wasn't going to be long until it was Conan's turn to go to Hogwarts. But for now, the young boy had been occupied with collecting shells. The youngest Burke son had always enjoyed collecting shells. He had a whole lot of shoe boxes back at home that were filled with many different shells.

Conan was out in the park, his younger sister and mum somewhere around the park. He was near the sandpit at the playground, he sometimes would find shells there, sometimes also either buried further deep into the sand or around the sandbox. Though finding some shells today was a bit of a difficult task. Conan sat at the edge of the sandpit, his shoebox filled with shells near by and him digging into the sandpit as much as he could, on a quest to find a shell or two.

The good thing about Uncle Wendall was that he was still vulnerable to good old-fashioned puppy-eyes. Eluned, like any intelligent child, was making the most of this for as long as it might last by pinning Wendall with a sorry look any time she wanted anything; and as she walked through Tākarokaro Park with an ice-cream in one hand and a bag of jelly slugs in the other, she was happy to say it was still working.

Eluned paused by the sandpit, where a boy was digging for something. She licked her ice-cream thoughtfully. "Do you know, cats like to poo in sand?" she said.
"Have you found any cat poo?"

Max couldn't help but overhear what the girl said to the other boy, though he immediately wished he hadn't heard it. He dropped everything he was playing with and resisted the urge to gag before getting out of the sandpit. ''They do what now?'' he asked her incredulously. ''They can't do that, that's gross!''

Conan had been busy digging a hole to find more shells, noticing a boy nearby, when he had heard a voice and looked up. He looked up at the girl suspiciously, not really believing the girl. "I don't believe you," Conan says, with a little laugh, but deep down he had hoped that what she said wasn't true. Conan whipped his head around when he noticed the boy near him had said something and Conan nodded in agreement with the boy. He then looked down at the sand in front of him and grabbed a handful and shoved the handful of sand towards the girl's face. "Did you wanna have a look for any?" Conan says with a playful smile, playing along with the statement the girl had given him.
