As Charlotte began to make her way towards the Great Hall for dinner, she turned the corner last minute and began making her way out onto the grounds instead. She wasn't hungry and didn't care if people noticed she was missing at the Slytherin table. The prefect felt as if the cool late afternoon air would clear her mind and so that was where she was headed as she walked through the grass, kicking along a small stone as she went. It felt good to have some time to herself every now and then. After all, Charlotte had quite a few friends and she couldn't think of anything better at that moment than taking a break from all of that to clear her mind, even if it meant skipping a meal. As she made it closer towards the lake her hair began to flutter in the air and she wrapped her arms tightly around her. The autumn air was cold as the sun began to set and so she promised herself that she would be back before curfew, mainly because she had to be now with the new rule. The girl sat on the edge of the lake, her knees to her face as she looked out at the water, the sun reflecting off it. Daniel must be wondering where she was but she tried to push the thought of him to the back of her mind, no matter how much she wanted him there. After all, she wanted her mind to be clearer and her troubling thoughts to get lost in the water.

After dropping off her stuff in the common room, Danielle dashed towards the Great Hall to grab some food for dinner. Though she was not planning on eating there, that doesn't mean that she won't eat at all. The calm water of the lake seems to be calling her so she decided to have her meal there. Grabbing some sandwiches, a few slices of turkey, some drinks and more sweets, she made her way outside. Looking around as well as behind her, the young Corelli checked to see if someone saw her sneak outside. Well, it isn't curfew yet but don't want to see any prefect lurking around. she mused.

A few minutes she reached her spot near the edge of the lake by a tree and began to spread out her small buffet. She then sat down and stretched her arms in relief. "Free at last!", she burst out in laughter. She then began to view her selection, deciding what to eat first. She didn't notice that someone was actually there with her. That she was not alone.

Charlotte's train of thought was interrupted when she heard someone yelling something nearby. Everyone should have been inside for dinner but it seemed like this person decided to do what Charlotte did and spend their time outside. The prefect didn't particularly like the idea of someone else being there but she couldn't really do anything about it. Sighing, she looked around and found the source of the noise. It was an older girl who instead brought dinner outside and seemed very excited about something. "Hello." Charlotte said to her, figuring that she might as well start conversation with her if she was going to be there. After all, it would distract her from any negatives thoughts and that's really what she needed.

Danielle was about to take a bite at her sandwich when she heard someone say hello. She froze thinking that she had spoken too soon about being free. She looked around and her eyes landed on Charlotte Owens. Not just any student but the Slytherin prefect of all people. Danielle's heart was almost at her throat. "Oh boy.", she muttered under her breath. She waved at the other girl. "Hi." Danielle scrambled up and started to pack up. "I'm so sorry. I know I am not supposed to be here. Please don't get me in trouble. I'll head back inside right away." She knew she was babbling but she couldn't afford to get in trouble.

Charlotte raised an eyebrow at the girl's suddenly defensive demeanor. She didn't want people to think that just because she was a prefect that everyone should be scared of her. After all, Charlotte was also there herself and was considering going back inside. "It's okay!" she reassured her, giving her a friendly smile. "Why did you bring all of this food out here? Why not eat it in the Great Hall?" Charlotte could feel her stomach rumbling now and knew that skipping a meal was probably not the most ideal thing. On top of that, she was beginning to feel tired and wanted nothing more than to get into bed.
