Briar had been trying to study. She knew that this year her exams were not for another few months but she would like to know everything before the break so next semester she could focus on potions transfiguration and unfortunately herbology. She today she was in the head peoples lounge. As she thought that she wouldnt be disturbed as only her Jeremy, and professors blaze and Kingsley. However this afternoon she was just fed up of the books she could only face books for a short amount of time at a time. And right now she reached that make. Leaving her books where they were she took her wand and headed op to the north tower to practice some spells. The head girl then drew her wand this spell she was still getting the hang of normally and she didnt want complicate it at all. She thought of a happy thought. This time when Gryffindor won the last quidditch match and the look on her brothers face when he had landed. expecto Patronum she said opening her eyes to see a formless silver mist before her. She let it drop and tried again thinking of the time she had been at home and had actually beaten Fern through the forest. This time the shape of an animal appeared. It seemed to have settles on the form of a wolf.
She watched it for a while run around her and snuffle at something on the floor before it let out a silent howl like a wolf would do to a full moon. This distracted her to the point that she lost concentration and it vanished. It was about a month since the Brightstone weekend where Dederick had broken up with her. She still didnt know how she should feel about it. She was on the whole pretty peeved that he had led her on for so long and let her fall for him before he told her that he had felt nothing for her but on the other hand she had enjoyed being with him and she knew as well as anyone that things happened and ended and you just have to make the most of them whilst they last and learn not to miss them. she sighed and tried again to conjure a patonus but her heart wasnt in it and she couldnt even make a wisp of mist. She sat down on one of the benches letting the wind blow past her.
