It was late spring. the days were getting warmer and the sun was shining in selene Le Fey's mind it was raining. that kind of heavy rain that hung in the air and got into every corner crease and crevice, making the entire world grey. It had hardly been a month since her grandmother had passed away she had known it was coming her health had been declining for years, it was one of the reasons, the official reason why she had moved back to New Zealand but it didnt stop it from hurting. today she had dressed in black with one of Morgans scarfs around her shoulder the smell of violets in the fabric making her feel closer. from a distance she could almost be mistaken for a younger version of morgan with her dark hair growing out and dark clothing. the main difference were her eyes one of which was grey unlike her grandmas green. but today, both were rimmed in red from the near-constant stream of tears.
She walked through the park to a new bench situated in a quiet area in the shade of an apple tree with views over both the pond and the flower beds. As she read the words on the plaque on it for the first time she knew her grandma would have loved sitting here watching the world and seasons pass, the flowers grow from shoots to buds to their current array of blooms before shrivelling and going to seed. she was sure their was some metaphore in that though she was not in the mood to uproot it. she sat for a minute or maybe half an hour as the world passed unnoticed as she tried to draw up memories of her grandma, though through some sick irony, the place in the park dedicated to her was one of the few without memories ingrained.
after a while she took two cups from her bag followed by a flask. She poured two cups leaving on on the seat she took a sip of her own the taste of lavender, chamomile and peppermint doing little to sooth her as she sat tears rolling silently down her face.

Although the magical community of New Zealand felt huge at times, other times it felt quite small. Cyndi Kingsley preferred those aspects of it, the comraderie, the sense that everyone was looking out for everyone else, the drive to progress magical life for everyone. So it hadn't been long before the woman had learned of the passing of Morgan Le Fey, someone she'd considered something of a mentor during her younger years, someone she respected immensely. The news had been gut-wrenching and the woman had found herself in mourning, her twin grandchildren the beacons of light as she grieved.

It had taken a little longer to hear about the memorial for Morgan but what had taken Cyndi the most time was feeling ready to see it. She knew it would be beautiful, but seeing it would make it all real that such a beautiful soul was truly gone from this plane. And she was right, as she walked to the area she'd been told she would find the memorial bench, it was impossible to not notice the beauty of the space. She rounded the pond and saw that the bench was occupied. The woman slowed, not wanting to interrupt as she recognized Selene sitting there. She knew her well, they'd been colleagues for a time and she considered her a friend. After a few moments, the woman took in and then slowly let out a deep breath before she stepped forward slowly, her hands crossed in front of her at her waist as she might have done in a church or at a memorial service.

"I'm so very sorry for your loss, Selene. Morgan...was such a special person" Cyndi stated solemnly.
