Logan was glad to be back at school, even if the school part of Hogwarts was mostly very boring. He was hanging out with Theodore, who was hanging out with Miles. So he supposed they were all hanging out, though they both seemed to talk mostly to Theodore. Logan got the feeling Miles never quite got over him laughing at him when Vex had messed with their club. Who cared about stuff like that, anyway? He needed to get a sense of humor. Since it was the start of the semester, there wasn't much homework yet. But Logan had a bit of reading to do for Herbology. He had the book open in front of him, but instead of taking notes he was just making silly doodles on the parchment. One looked kind of like a snake to him, and he drew a wonky cup around it. He clearly hadn't gotten any of his sister's creative genes. "How much do you guys wanna bet Slytherin wins the house cup again this year? We've won almost every year for like, forever." A few years ago Ravenclaw had won, but that hardly counted. It was before he had been sorted, anyway.

Hogwarts was bound to get more interesting now his sister was around, but just because Eloise was at school with him now didn't mean that he wouldn't get to hang out with his friends. Or, friend, really. Logan wasn't really someone he considered much of a friend, but because the Slytherin was also friends with Theo it did often mean they ended up hanging out because of it. Like right now, where Miles found himself slouched back in his seat, somehow refraining himself from propping his feet up on the table as he did so. "It's going to be Gryffindor's year this year, I just know it," he quickly disagreed with a small shake of his head, "Besides, it was a Gryffindor who ended up getting the most points overall last year. Slytherin just got lucky, is all."

Theodore was glad to be back at school for the year, especially since it would be his last year alone until his brother would be joining him next year, which Theo wasn't sure if he was excited about or not. But so far, Theo had enjoyed being back at school, and he liked the company of his friends. Speaking of his friends, the Ravenclaw was hanging out with Miles and Logan, and Theo found them both pretty cool. Theo scoffed jokingly at what they had said. "Nah, you guys are dreaming! Ravenclaw will win this year, I bet," Theo says jokingly with a small laugh, as he sits back in his chair as he relaxes with both his hands behind his head, trying to get comfortable. Theo had some doubts that Ravenclaw would win this year, but only time would tell. "Oh yeah, wasn't it close between Slytherin and Gryffindor last year?"

Logan scoffed audibly at Miles' words. He was obviously delusional if he thought Gryffindor was going to win. Logan shook his head. "Nah, man. Having one weird kid getting so many points isn't going to make a difference." He told him. "We're doing a lot more stuff." If he was honest, Logan had no idea how they got so many points each year. It certainly wasn't his doing, though he felt like he could take credit since it was his house. He scoffed again when Theodore mentioned Ravenclaw winning, but he did think that was a bit more likely,, since they had won not too long ago. "It wasn't close at all." He said, shaking his head. In truth, he did not remember who had come in second and what the point difference had been. Which just went to show that only winning mattered.

"Teddy's not weird," he suddenly found himself getting quite defensive about that, frowning ever so slightly as Logan decided to insult the older boy, "He's our quidditch captain and helped our team win the cup." Slytherin might have ended up winning the house cup, but it had been Gryffindor who had won the quidditch cup. And Miles knew which one of those two achievements he cared more about, even if he wasn't on the team yet and didn't have anything to do with the win. As for whether it was actually a close race between Gryffindor and Slytherin, he couldn't remember. But he wasn't just going to sit there and take this house slander. "It was closer than you want to admit. Trust me, we're winning both the house cup and the quidditch cup this year."

Theo didn't know what he had suddenly stepped into, if he was being honest. One moment, he was just enjoying time with his friends and the next minute, he felt the atmosphere change in an instant, and not in a good way. Theo felt like he was more on the sidelines of this conversation than actually being part of it, and he disagreed a little with what Logan had said, but he wasn't sure if it had been his turn to speak, so all Theo felt like he could do at the moment was stay silent and watch it unfold, as he wasn't particularly sure what to do.

Logan held up his hands defensively as Miles spoke about Teddy. Honestly, Logan hadn't even remembered who had gotten that many points, but clearly Miles had. "Well, anyone who tries that hard in school is weird in my book, sorry." He said with a shrug. "And you guys winning the cup was just a fluke, anyway." He added airily. "Slytherin's winning that too, this year." With him on the team this time, obviously. "You guys aren't winning anything, wanna bet?" He asked, pushing himself forward slightly to get a bit closer to Miles.

He didn't know if Logan was trying to rile him up on purpose, or if he was just saying these things for the heck of it. Either way, Miles wasn't impressed, pressing his lips together slightly as the other boy doubled down on the idea that Teddy was weird. "It's not weird to want good grades," he huffed with a shake of his head, "Some people actually want a good career." Not that he had ever thought himself about what kind of career he wanted once he graduated, but he knew he wanted to still have good enough graes to not worry too much. And then, the bet. "You're on!" He didn't even hesitate to snap back, "You're going to end up eating those words when you lose."

Theo's head moved back and fourth between the two boys like a ping pong ball. Suddenly, there was some sort of bet and Theo wasn't exactly sure how they all got here. But he guessed he was curious about how this bet would go. But he was not going to involve himself in whatever bet was going to happen. "A bet aye? So what will the winner and loser get out of this?" Theo asked curiously, he wondered if they were dead serious about the bet though.

Logan snorted at Miles' words about grades. Who cared about that, besides parents and nerds? He wanted to call Miles a nerd, but held back as he glanced at Theodore. He already felt like Theo and Miles were a little closer than he was with the Ravenclaw, and insulting him might make Theo pick stupid Miles' side. "Okay, whatever." He said with a roll of his eyes. "The career I'm getting doesn't need good grades." He muttered, thinking of his future as a professional Quidditch player for the Macaws. Obviously. He grinned a bit as Miles took the bet. It was nice to see Mr. Perfect lose his composure a bit. He glanced at Theo as he spoke, asking logical questions which was probably why he was a Ravenclaw. "I dunno, the winner gets like... chocolate frogs or something?" He asked. He wasn't the plan guy, so it wasn't his fault this was a pretty lame idea

This was just a whole big dumb argument and he didn't know why Logan was being such a prat about it. "You still need good grades to graduate," he huffed out, "You can't graduate without studying." You could certainly try and just coast through all your exams, but you'd likely just end up failing every single one of them and then end up getting held back because of it. Or you would graduate with no NEWTs and absolutely no prospects. Which, if Logan wanted to do that, then he was more than welcome to. Miles wasn't going to stop him from being an idiot. "Is that it?" Chocolate frogs? Was that really the best prize he could come up with?

Theodore frowned a little at the idea of chocolate frogs. That sounded boring, nothing had really come out of that. It was just food. "Chocolate frogs, not a bad idea, but there's gotta be more options, right?" Theo explains, as he thinks of different winning options, though he didn't want to dismiss the idea or hurt anyone's feelings with it. "Buttttt, if you did want to go with the chocolate frogs option, maybe the loser can buy the winner chocolate frogs maybe?" Theo then said, trying to think of ideas. But there had to be a better option than chocolate frogs, right?
