Kanako vaguely knew Kairi. They'd never really talked and Kanako actually wondered what she'd be like. She waited patiently outside the hufflepuff common room until she spotted the girl in question. "Hey, you," Kanako said, not quite politely. "You're Kairi, right?"

@Kairi Kennedy

Kairi was humming softly to herself. She stopped when a classmate called to her. She stopped, looking over. "Oh, yes! It's... Kanako, yes?" She asked, recognizing the girl from her classes. She thought it safe to assume it was for roses, but she didn't want to just jump to conclusions.

Kanako was a little surprised she knew her name but quickly recovered. "Rose for you. Just a yellow one though, nothing too exciting." Kanako offered the yellow rose and the note.

~Daiki

Kairi smiled. "Oh, I don't know, I think all roses are sweet. It means someone is thinking of you." She glanced at the note, her smile shifting to be a little softer. She was right, Daiki was sweet. She tucked the note into her pocket and started to braid the rose into her hair. "How is your day going? Are deliveries alright?" She questioned.

Kanako guessed that was true but shrugged. "Yeah, it's going alright. Nothing too exciting," she said, a little bitterly. She'd wanted drama, if she was being honest. "Someone did throw their rose into the fire. That was cool."

Kairi blinked, a little stunned. "Someone threw their rose in the fire?" She was dumbfounded. Had that really happened? But why?

Kanako laughed. "Some people don't appreciate roses, I guess," she said cheerfully. "I thought it was pretty cool. The person who sent it didn't even bother leaving their name or a note so..." Kanako shrugged.

Kairi tilted her head. "Huh. That would be weird." She hummed softly, considering it. "I think it would be a fun little mystery to get an unsigned rose. What do you think? How would you react to a mystery rose?" She asked, wrapping her arms behind herself. She hadn't spoken much to Kanako before, but maybe they could be friends?

Kanako was surprised the conversation hadn't gone sour yet and was counting her blessings. She considered Kairi's question. "I suppose so," she agreed reluctantly. "But isn't it a little cowardly not to sign your name? Especially if it's a pink or red rose. I don't think I'd want to go out with someone who was too scared to even write their name."

Kairi considered. "I can understand that," She agreed. "I think it's romantic, but we don't have to agree," She smiled easily at the girl. "What are you doing later? Maybe we could get some dinner together sometime? It's always nice to make new friends," She offered, wanting to hang out again.
