Vivian's music had slowly been gaining in popularity since the beginning of his career, but the next album he released was an unexpected success, rocketing him from local indie notable to global recognition. Though he found the fame overwhelming and did everything he could to keep his life private, it was still a significant upheaval, and one he struggled with substantially. Though he and Tristan never married they remained together for the rest of their lives, and Vivian considered Mason as much his son as Tristan's, doing his best to raise the boy up well.
