Heading to the Bahamas with three kids was not something that Jake would have ever expected to do. He had thought that they should stay well away from anywhere that might be accessible, however, they really did need a holiday. He'd been sorting out finances and all sorts of things for so long, that eventually, Scarlett had managed to convince him that a holiday was a good idea. The triplets were all just over five months old and they could make it a new family tradition to spend Christmas together somewhere other than the small residence they'd taken up upon Giuliano's suggestion. Still, he had to admit that Scarlett had dealt with a lot of his issues in the past and he was quite honestly just luck to have her. He knew that. They'd only graduated not long ago, they'd gotten married and had three beautiful kids together. Jake loved Scar more than anything else in the world and he knew he'd do anything for them. Which, apparently, included going against every gut feeling he had and booking a lovely beach bungalow in the Bahamas. It was nice enough considering that Jake had never been to a beach like this before. French beaches looked nothing like this and he never spent much time at the anyway, because they didn't live anywhere near the coast of France. He was determined that his kids would learn to swim though.

Currently, Scar was sitting under an umbrella with the triplets laying on a towel. Jake had walked away from them to double check some of the wards he'd set up. This was a private beach, so muggles couldn't exactly show up, but he was just making doubly sure. He didn't know who looked after this beach, and though Jake wasn't exactly the best at wards, he was giving it a shot. Sighing, he turned back to look at his family before heading over to the reception to find something to do. He didn't think he could spend all day on the beach after all.

It had been Esme's suggestion for the Lancaster children to go to the Bahamas during the semester break, a welcome surprise to the others who had not expected such an idea from her. Traveling between America and New Zealand was not uncommon for them, but a visit to tropical islands was unheard of, especially from someone who, as she'd been told, did not know how to relax. Truth be told, the seeress was having trouble relaxing even once they'd reached their destination. Visions of a potential future plagued her dreams, and the vacation was not a way for everyone to wind down, but an attempt to avert something that had not yet come to pass.

"Bermuda, Bahamas, come on pretty mama." Emeric's voice sang for the umpteenth time, prodding the thick towel around Esme's waist. She batted his hand away, tired of that repetitive song that seemed to play wherever they were, as if they didn't know what island they were vacationing on. Trust the flower child to obsess over a no-maj song, of all things. "Make yourself useful and find a spot for us near the water." The witch muttered in a tone of warning, her patience for Emeric thinning. She watched as he ran ahead, kicking up sand with his bare feet as he looked for a spot that likely had the most pretty shells scattered about. They continued to walk slowly after him, until a tap on Esme's shoulder stopped her ."Hey, Esme. Your friend Jakobe is here." Came Emmett's voice from over her shoulder. She sighed, wishing she'd chosen to spend the day on her own, elsewhere on the island. "You say that about every asian wizard you see." The seeress replied, but nethertheless she glanced in the direction her brother had pointed out, and was shocked to find that, at least this time, it really was Jakobe.

Breaking off from her brother and cousins, Esme headed in the direction her high school friend seemed to be walking, unable to believe it really was him, of all people to come across on foreign land. She had not seen the ex-Ravenclaw since they'd graduated, and aside from Lucien, she had not seen anyone else, either. Since Avie passed, she wanted to leave the memory of Hogwarts behind her. Despite his actions in the past, Jakobe was still one of the more pleasant memories of her time there. As she intercepted his path, a small smile touched her lips. "Small world."
