Noah would be lying if he said he knew exactly why he had been made captain. He didn't. And he didn't think he'd ever know. It wasn't like he was keen on seeking out Abigail outside of school. Although perhaps Micha wouldn't be too bad, but he wondered if the boy had much to say about the decisions regarding the team. Part of him liked to believe he had been made captain because of that one (1) singular time he had decided to pass to Abigail during a game rather than take the shot himself, but if something that small was all it took he wasn't sure whether he was qualified to even be captain or not.

Yet here he was. Just for a year, but a year nonetheless. Noah had made sure to get to the pitch early and make sure everything was ready, grinning at his current team members and greeting potential new ones when they arrived. "Hey," He simply greeted. "Welcome to quidditch try outs." He said, not entirely sure what everyone expected him to say. "If you're new, please state your name and the position you're trying out for before heading into the air. Returning players, I guess you know the drill. Let's just keep this simple, off you go." Noah finished, making sure to write down the names and positions of the kids who were trying out so he could take notes of them while they were playing.

Welcome to try outs! Returning players, please make sure to RP in this thread so I know you'd like to keep your position. Alternates must try out again. Should you want to have a first year student try out please PM me first. Feel free to do the same with any questions.

Ocean was ready for try outs. It had been stupid she hadn't been allowed to try out last year and needed to wait a year but that only meant she just had more skills to show. She hadn't spend last year trying to improve for nothing after all. Ocean listened to the older boy that had been made captain and made sure to be the first to step forward when he was done speaking. "Ocean Keeley, trying out for beater." She said confidently. There was no doubt in her mind that she wasn't going to make the team. Even if there were no starter positions available as a beater. She hopped onto her broom and made sure to show off how steady she was on it as she started to fly around looking for bludgers. She spend try outs chasing, dodging and hitting as many of the tricky balls as she could. Some she missed, some she hit. Some flew towards other players, others she just hit away towards nothingness. In the end, her arm was starting to ache and she did everything she could not to show that she was a little tired.

Pearl arrived at the quidditch pitch and had her broom in hand. She listened to what was said and then shot up into the air to guard the hoops.

Zoey was a little bitter that they hadn't won a single game last year but she figured that at least this was a fresh start or whatever. That optimistic voice in the back of her mind sounded a lot like her mother. But they did have a new captain this year and she was curious to see how it would go. At least she didn't have to actually try out this year. Instead she gave Noah a nod and took to the air. She grabbed hold of the quaffle as soon as it was free and she got into the game. Even though it was only try-outs it felt good to get back into the air and make a few hoops. She was sweating by the end and was satisfied with her performance.

Dion wasn't upset he wasn't Quidditch captain, since he still wasn't exactly planning on playing professionally or anything like that. It was a fun diversion, and he was at least semi-competent if not exactly good. "Grats, man," he said to Noah, at least glad someone deserving got the role. He mounted up and took to the sky, swatting bludgers away with force if not finesse, and managing to get a couple of cheeky hits in. Mostly he was focused on pushing bludgers away from the kids trying out, though, ostensibly to help kids trying out but mostly to let off a little bit of steam.

It was be sad without Micha on the team obviously, but Felicity had to think that they were entering a new era now with Abigail gone. She'd tried so hard to be friends with their dear departed captain and got nothing for it so Flick was more than eager to get into to practice without having to watch her back for once. "Ohhh, hiiiii captain," she called when she spotted Noah in charge, wiggling her fingers at him and giving Dion a nudge before things got going and she shot into the air.

It was interesting to see the new players joining and Flick made sure to send a few extra bludgers if she could closer to the newer seekers and beaters, just to give them a chance to really show off.

Nabi was excited to try out for the Quidditch team again, she had been on the team for the last two years, and it had been a lot of fun. She had even gotten to play, though she hadn't been the best seeker ever. Nabi was a little hopeful for a more permanent spot now that the seeker spot was open. The girl grinned and waved at her teammates as she waited for her turn. When it came, she stepped forward. "Nabi Mun, I'm trying out for seeker!" She said, giving a little wave to go along with her statement. She flew into the air and started looking for the snitch. It took her quite a bit, but she eventually grabbed it. With a grin, she held it up. "Woo!" She released it again and kept on looking until her time was up. At least she had caught it.

i caved lol

Hadrian hadn't really seen much Quidditch growing up, what with his dad being a no-maj and all. Watching last year had been something of a crash course, but now he was in his second year he was keen to just get in there and give it a go. He'd mostly picked up the rules, he reckoned, and what he lacked in knowledge he was bound to make up for with enthusiasm. He'd spent his summer practicing with throwing a football around with his siblings, and even though that was kind of different to throwing a quaffle in mid air, he figured it couldn't hurt.

"Hey," he greeted, giving the older boy, the captain, he figured, a small wave. "Uh, Hadrian Murphy," he started - at least wizards didn't tend to blink at his name, back home it was always 'why did you give it an 'h' and weird comments about how his mum was some kind of art snob - "and I'll try out for chaser." He nodded, taking to the air and starting to toss the quaffle around. He did a little better at passing than he did shooting, at least at first, but once he got the hang of it he was able to at least get a couple of goals. He was at least proactive, not afraid to rush in to grab the quaffle and even tried to feint once or twice - though not very successfully. At least he could say he got a couple of goals and showed that he had some enthusiasm for the role, even if he was kind of rough around the edges. Maybe they'd be willing to help him refine a bit.
