There was a rather pleased grin on Hyun's face as stood on the Quidditch pitch, broom settled down at his feet. It felt good to finally be rid of Adam, and the added bonus was that he was now Captain instead. Himself and Lucas. And he couldn't be happier about it. Hopefully, this could be a new start for the team where no one would have to worry about being belittled for missing their shot and not catching the snitch fast enough. That is what he was going for, anyway. The team really needed some positive reinforcement after what they had been through the previous year. Then again, most of the team had gone and graduated and there would be a lot of new faces.

He had set aside all the equipment they could possibly need and a couple of spare brooms just in case anyone needed one and didn't have their own. And now all he could do was wait for everyone to arrive as he waited next to Lucas, making sure to give the taller boy a grin. This was going to be a fun year. "Hey all, welcome to the Ilvermorny Quidditch tryouts for this year," he started off with a smile when it seemed as though everyone had arrived. "We have a lot of open positions this time around, so let's just get right to it. If you're trying out, please state your name and which position you want to try out for before showing us your stuff. Returning players, please feel free to fly around and help out where you can." He clapped his hands, satisfied that he had gone over everything. "Right, and with that, let's get down to business." He gave the gathered students one last grin before holding his clipboard a little tighter as he turned to the first person trying out so he could take their name.

ooc: Returning players need to only post an attendance post to retain their position on the team. Alternates will need to try out again. First years need to get permission from either myself or Jess (Lucas) before posting a try-out. If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me a message! Good luck everyone.

Abigail knew the new captains wouldn't live up to Adam, but still hoped they would make something of the team. Last year they had gotten close to winning, only to be defeated at the last moment. Hopefully, the new seeker would be better than Hope had been. It had been a humiliating loss. She arrived at tryouts with a smug smile, knowing she didn't have to try out anymore. She watched the new people with a sense of superiority, then took to the air to at least give the keepers something to do.

The team felt empty this year. Really, it did. He was honestly surprised that he was a captain; he thought Eli and Adam had hated him. Hyun had been the logical choice. He smiled shyly, standing tall behind Hyun. "He's pretty much covered it. Just do your best, and have fun with it," he announced, smiling at the one face he knew and looking around at all those he didn't. He took off into the air with Hyun, sticking close to him for a minute. "It's a bit weird, isn't it? Everyone is gone," Lucas shook his head. "You can't laugh at Eli hitting Adam anymore," he gave Hyun a small smile. @Hyun Ong Hae

Micha felt his stomach do a few flips as he arrived at quidditch try-outs. He wasn't sure why he was so freaked out. He had done alright as alternate last year and was both grateful and a little bummed he didn't get to play in an actual game. But now that Hope had graduated it would hopefully be his turn. He tried to wave to Abigail when he arrived but he wasn't sure if she saw him. "Uh, my name is Micha and I'm trying out for seeker...again." he said with a moderate level of confidence. A moment later he kicked off into the air and started his search. As the minutes ticked by he got nervous that maybe last year was a fluke and he was actually a not very good seeker after all. He sighed and looked down just in time to see a flash of gold and didn't even hesitate before diving for it. After a bit of a chase he finally wrapped his hand around the tiny gold ball and held it up in the air triumphantly. He spent the rest of tryouts doing his best and managed to spare a few glances at the newer kids trying out to see how they were doing. By the end of try-outs he caught the snitch one more time which wasn't outstanding but better than nothing. He gave Hyun and Lucas a thumbs up and shot them a cheerful smile as he landed and started to collect his things.

Yoo had enjoyed being an alternate keeper for the team, sure he hadn't done much but it had been pretty nice too. He had gotten a bit of a taste for the sport and now he had decided he would keep at it. He liked playing, it was nice, it was good. He got to make some friends and he liked flying too. Sports were good for the brain and if he was to best Jai then he needed to be working harder at this. He needed his brain to be working better than good, it needed to be great. The boy looked to the captains, two boys he'd known and then when able to stepped forward, "Yoo Hyun Ki, keeper," he said, he would hope they did remember him so he wouldn't need to repeat that.

Yoo got on to his broom and went to one set of hoops. He steadied himself and then focused on the try-outs unfolding in front of him. He kept himself ready to move but wasn't moving around so much so as to become deconcentrated. The boy managed to knock one quaffle away but the next one went through. he was sent chasing after it. Yoo had some mixed success, a few people definitely got some lucky shots in but he knew he would maybe need to be quicker and better for the team but he felt he'd done well overall. Eventually the try-out drew to an end and Yoo was able to feel pretty good about his chances. It hadn't gone horribly at least.

Tye arrived on the Quidditch pitch with a broom in one hand and beaters bat in the other. He had been preparing all summer for tryouts and worked on his upper body strength for beating. This was his first time trying out for the team and he wanted to make a good impression. "Tye Trevino. Trying out for Beater." He stated, getting himself ready to take off. He focused on the bludgers as they rocketed upwards. His natural competitiveness kicked in as he kicked off from the ground and flew after them. He leant close to the handle to speed up and tightened his grip around the bat, keeping a close eye on the path ahead. Once close enough, Tye took a hard swing at the bludger, using his strength to knock it off course at speed. He smiled, happy with his efforts on the pitch.

Mykaela arrived to the Quidditch pitch feeling absolutely ready for the try-outs, she excitedly smiled at everyone she saw and swinged her beater bat, almost slipping it out of her hand in excitement. She was a bit nervous but at the same time, she was pretty sure that she will do pretty good. It shouldn't be that hard, right? Why would it be? She had been training and she knew what she was doing. "Mykaela Blythe. Beater," she showed her beater bat as trying to show her that she wasn't joking. Then she flew up to the sky and immediately tried to catch up with the closest bludgers. She did a pretty good job, she hit several bludgers, some of them reached the target, some of them went by, some of them she just didn't manage to exactly hit. Everything like always with balls that were going their own way. She was proud of herself, maybe she could have done a better job but she did a lot anyway.

Patrick was changed over to Ilvermorny therefore he decided to also try their luck at this school to join the Quidditch team. Therefore, soon learned that the selection went to the Quidditch field to pick up his broom passports latest model, the father had broken last year bought an older model instead. He had tried two positions, but waiting for him here was not yet known, but will be able to find out after the selection. Arriving in the square, he looked around and then stood in front. ''Patrick Hughes. Keepr or Beater.'' He said, because in these postion had previously been played so far decided exactly his luck to try on this directly. It remained only to see how it would be next, although he was ready to show on everything he was capable of and that could be part of the team.
