Adam was eager to get this show on the road. Losing to Beauxbatons every year was tiring, and the Ilvermorny team needed someone to really whip them into shape. That was going to be him. He'd be the one to finally show the team what winning felt like, despite the obstacles he'd been stuck with. Eli, for one, hindering his efforts to separate the wheat from the chaff, or giving the team a fresh start. It didn't surprise Adam that Dominic had wanted to sabotage him by sticking him with Eli as a co-captain, now that running it was no longer his responsibility. Deep down, he must have known Adam would have been the one to elevate the team, and he had no doubt it was the former captain's own jealousy that had lead to him making such a stupid decision.

The boy stood with his arms folded as the team approached the field, and he stepped forward before Eli had a chance to speak over him and undermine his authority. "Listen up, runts. I'm fed up with the half-assed plays from this team. We need to show Beauxbatons who's best, and if you're not willing to put in the effort and prove that you are, then you'll just have to watch the rest of us play from the bench when the time comes. I don't have time for time-wasters. If I don't see you trying hard enough this practice, I won't hesitate to call a time-out so you can take a hike, understood? Good. Beaters, I want you giving the seekers a hard time. Beauxbatons won't go easy, and neither should we. Chasers, I won't go easy on you this time either. As for the seekers, M...Michael, or whatever your name is, you're against Hope. If you can catch more snitches, I might just let you play in a real match instead. That goes for any of the alternates. I want to see you trying to do better than the regular players, because you're the ones who are going to have to try out again next year. Give the team a reason to keep you around. Yoo, take notes." Adam finished, kicking up his broom from the ground in preparation to fly into the air, though he paused to spare Eli a glance.

Please wait for Daphne to post with Eli first, after that you can dive straight into the practice. Let me also make it clear that no one is actually at risk of being benched if an alternate does better than them , unless they're unavailable for the match, which is on the 19th. We have until then to practice!

Eli knew he should have expected Adam to take over the practice as soon as he could, but somehow the other boy still took him by surprise. He sighed audibly when the boy spoke to their team, even if he wasn't completely opposed to everything he said. He snorted when Adam said he wouldn't take it easy on the chasers this time, as if he usually did. Eli grumbled when Adam finished speaking. "What he said, I guess." He grunted, not in the mood to speak against his co-captain as he didn't want to start an argument. He then flew to the air and tried to hit a bludger at Adam immediately, but he missed.

Lucas was nervous, but tried not to let it show. He didn't have Einar. He tried to hover near Hyun. He smiled softly at the other boy, trying to ignore the hostility he felt from Adam. Wanting to prove himself, he shot up into the air. He grabbed the quaffle and started his loop to the hoops.

Hope entered the pitch. She wasn't sure how to feel about the two captains but she figured she would just do her thing and try and win the game, she felt a lot of pressure. And when Adam said if Michael did well perhaps he could play she felt she was gonna prove them an strength she didn't felt long time ago. So when they began she mounted her broom and flew into the air searching for the snitch.

Feeling confident with his longer arms, Lucas flew towards Adam. Gritting his teeth, he hurled the ball as hard as he could, insanely pleased when it soared past the keeper. He smiled, immediately turning to smile at Einar and pausing when the other boy wasn't there. Lucas heart twisted in his chest and he flew back on the field, giving Hyun a halfhearted smile instead.

Eli cracked a smile when he saw that Lucas had managed to score. He then hit a bludger, aiming it at the seeker instead of Adam even though he kind of wanted to. He almost felt bad when it hit Hope, but Adam had had a point about how the Beauxbatons beaters wouldn't take it easy on them.

@Hope Thompson

Abigail was ready to prove herself. She grinned at Adam's speech, eager to show him what she could do. She rolled her eyes at Eli, it almost seemed like he really wasn't a captain. Adam definitely had a lot more charisma. Abigail was disappointed when Lucas grabbed the quaffle first, but after he'd managed to score Abigail grabbed the quaffle and flew to the other hoops, where their alternate keeper was waiting.

AJ had no idea what this year of Quidditch was going to be like, but he was determined to stick it out for one more year. Win or lose, he still liked playing, even if he was sure Adam and Eli were going to be the death of him. He smiled quietly at Hope when he saw her as they gathered to listen to their new captains, glad she hadn't actually decided to quit the team, though he did note Einar's conspicuous absence.

Kicking into the air, AJ was sure Adam's speech had been all bark and no bite, but he still felt the sense of urgency to get in some good hits. He tried to stick near Hope for a bit, just until practice got going, and immediately saw the bludger Eli hit her way. He tried to intercept, mistiming his swing, and had to watch miserably and Hope took a bludger already.

Lucas followed the new girl, giving her an encouraging smile. He couldn't remember her name off the top of his head and made a mental note to find out when he could.

After his first hit, Eli chased another bludger.

Abigail flew to the hoops Yoo had been guarding. To her annoyance, he blocked her shot. She glared at him, then flew off angrily.

AJ spent a moment hovering awkwardly near Hope, checking she was okay. He knew he'd be of more use actually trying to hit bludgers than following her though and eventually pulled away, giving her a small, apologetic smile as he adjusted the grip on his bat.

As she started the search she almost forgot about the bludgers. And there was already one in her way. Too late to dodge it she got hit in the side. She felt the pain and she saw flashbacks from the games where she got taken out of the game. But she tried to continue her search.

Lucas grimaced as the new girl missed, flying in and catching the quaffle as it was tossed out. He started back towards Adam, looking around to see if Hyun was near.

AJ tried to focus on tailing a bludger and not watching Hope too closely. He hadn't forgotten Adam telling them to give the seekers a hard time, but AJ was having a hard enough time himself focusing and catching a bludger to hit first.

Not seeing Hyun, Lucas rushed forward. If Adam wasn't taking it easy on him, he wasn't going easy on Adam. He rushed forward, hurling the ball right past Adam and into the hoops. Lucas straightened, smiling, before flying off again.

Adam scowled as Lucas managed to score a couple of times. "Just warming up." He scoffed, floating between the hoops.

Lucas was irritated, and swung back around, catching the quaffle. He looked around to see if either of the chasers wanted it.

Micha arrived practice ready to get out there and try and catch the snitch again. Try outs had been such a thrill and part of him still couldn't believe he had actually made the team. As Adam started talking he started to get nervous. The intensity of his speech made his palms sweat especially when he told the beaters not to go easy. He gave them a small wave, hoping they'd take mercy if he introduced himself. Micha jumped when the co-captain turned to him even though he had said the wrong name, and he tried to wordlessly express to Hope that he wasn't trying to come for her spot. But there was no time to processes any of that before Eli grunted in response and the team was in the air. He kicked off and started his search for the snitch.

Not seeing anyone nearby, Lucas flew back around. In his aggravation, his aim was off, and Adam caught it. He grimaced, hoping he'd at least put enough force into it that it had knocked Adam back a little.

AJ circled the field, trying to see if he could line up a decent angle on a bludger. It felt wrong to try and aim for their new seeker, but AJ didn't want to hit Hope again if he could avoid it.

Micha felt on edge as he watched for where the beaters were on top of looking for the snitch. He decided to keep moving and fly around the pitch keeping an eye out for anything gold and shiny.

Adam huffed, surprised by how strong Lucas had gotten over the years. He tossed the quaffle back into play, hovering back between his hoops.

AJ took a swing at the bludger he'd been tailing, shaking out his arm as he watched it sail past Micah and off towards the other side of the pitch.

Lucas caught the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, but looked for the other chasers, ready to pass to either of them if they drew near.
