It was the end of the school year, a final goodbye for some, but merely the start of a long, well deserved break for most. Students and staff alike could enjoy some quality time at home without the stress of exams and study looming over their heads. The castle would be uncharacteristically quiet with most of them gone, a reprieve from the antics and rivalries, but there was still work to be done over the course of the holidays for at least some members of the staff, and the house elves employed to ensure Hogwarts remained presentable for the coming year.
As the students filed in, the banners adorning the Great Hall rippled and changed to reflect the signature red and gold colours of Gryffindor house, signifying their outstanding victory for the year. They had taken quite the lead compared to the other houses. Rising from her seat at the staff table, Katherine slowly made her way up to the podium, waiting for everyone to settle into their own seats before speaking. "Welcome one and all to this year's final feast. Before we begin, I'd like to say a few words. First of all, a round of applause for the winners of this year's House Cup - congratulations to Gryffindor!" The woman announced, producing the cup in question seemingly from thin air, to be presented to Professor Kingsley on behalf of her house.
"Of course, we can't forget those students who's dedication and ambition earned the most points for their respective houses. Our top house point earners this year are - in first place, Minnie Calida of Ravenclaw, with a grand total of eight hundred and seventy seven points. In second place, with a total of seven hundred and forty three points - Emmaline Hopkins-Vance, of Gryffindor. In third, Elliot Briar of Hufflepuff, with six hundred and eighty seven points. Last but not least, we have Ruben Right of Slytherin, with six hundred and eighty four points. Congratulations to our winners." The Headmistress joined in the applause for each of them, commending their efforts and achievements toward their house.
As the applause died down, the woman moved to wrap things up and allow them to commence eating. "A quick reminder, as per the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery, you are not permitted to use magic underage outside of Hogwarts. I do not want to receive any letters from the Ministry of Magic over this end of year break. Now, enjoy this feast and have a safe travel home. Until next year."

Adorah couldn't believe that she had finished her fouth year at Hogwarts. It seemed surreal that she now had less years ahead of her than she had attended, and in a way, it made her sad, but it also meant she was closer to be out from under her parent's care. She had made the decision to start looking for her birth mother over the break, one of the only reasons she was excited school was ending, and she had managed to somewhat smooth things over with Juniper before they went home for the summer. She was sad to see this year's class of seventh years leave. She had only interacted with a few of them, and she was sad Mazikeen was leaving, as she had been one of the main reasons she had initially enjoyed Heta Omega. Grabbing a biscuit out of her pocket, she started to discreetly snack on it as the Headmistress congratulated Gryffindor on their win. She had hoped Ravenclaw would pull ahead, but seeing as they came in third, she figured they needed to work harder. The lions had taken over for the past two years, and she found them all too loud for her liking. As the speech concluded, she took a few pieces of turkey and placed them on her plate.

It was almost a relief to reach the end of year feast. So many things had changed this year, Elliot hadn't been certain he'd be able to keep up with it all without crashing and burning. But he'd made it, he thought, letting out a sigh that felt he'd been holding in since he'd first gotten his prefect badge earlier last year. He'd somehow managed to juggle all his classes, prefect duties, Wild Patch duties, and Quidditch without imploding on himself, for which he was grateful. Elliot even had to duck his head as Professor Alicastell announced his name for the top point in Hufflepuff. He wasn't sure he was a fan of the attention from that, but he did sneak a glance at Alice, just in case she was impressed by it. It was a shame Hufflepuff hadn't managed to win anything this year, house points or Quidditch, but as the feast started, and Elliot glanced over at Lily and Alice, he was feeling a little more hopeful.

This year had been pretty sweet as far as Sully was concerned. Gryffindor had just missed out on the Quidditch cup, but clearly they'd managed the house cup he thought, grinning knowingly as they walked into the Great Hall for the end of year feast and spying the red and gold. Listening to Professor Alicastell's speech before they got to eat was always the hardest part, though Sully made sure to cheer extra loud for Gryffindor's top points winner, even if he didn't recognize her name. And of course Minnie decimated everyone for most points this year. Sully wouldn't be surprised to find out if the Ravenclaw ever slept.

"Woo!! Gryffindor!!" Sully made a point to hoot and cheer loudly, half climbing to his feet to cheer, as the trophy was handed to Professor Kingsley once again this year, and then they could finally eat. Eagerly filling his plate, Sully spared a moment to grin at the Gryffindors around him, before turning his attention to his food and the excitement of getting to head home again for the holidays.

Poppy tried to sit patiently as she waited for the feast to begin. She bounced her leg under the table and hope it wasn't bothering anyone around her too badly. Headmistress Alicastell began her speech and she tried to listen carefully. Poppy felt an odd mixture of excitement and sadness at the thought of going home for the break. She wanted to see her parents but she also knew she was going to miss school and her friends. But she smiled and clapped for Gryffindor who won the house cup. She knew she should feel disappointed at Ravenclaw's loss but the other house's lead was impressive enough that she hardly minded. She politely clapped for all the other students who were recognized as well and was relieved when the talking was finally over and they could start eating.

Chloë had never been as excited for the year to end as she had this year but not because it had been a bad year. On the contrary, the gryffindor felt as if it had been her best year yet. She had done well in her classes, hung out with her friends plenty of times and even though they hadn't managed to win the Quidditch Cup she had been extremely pumped to have made the team and to be able to play alongside her friends. It had been a good year, definitely. However, with the trip to france she was about to take with her brother in the back of her mind she couldn't help but to be glad they had finally reached the end of the year as well. She clapped and gave a loud cheer when mentioned that Gryffindor had won the house cup, pretty pleased that they had managed to win it two years in a row now. She continued clapping for the students who were recognized for earning the most house points, although her eyes were already going over all of the food on the tables to figure out what she'd want to get first.

Jenna was so happy for this year. She finaly get her first job and she will be soon started work. Jenna needed so much still learn about relontiships but she was trying know better Daintree but she still was voried of later get hurt. She was a little sad when Gryffindor again win and not the Hufflepuff house. Mayby she next year won't be to laisy and make grades better.

Lysander was quite happy for the year to come to an end. Studying this year had been harder, and he was eager to go home and not have to worry about when stonehenge was built, or what the shape of his tea leaves meant for his future. The parties had been a blast to end the year with, and though Gryffindor had lost their last match, he was ecstatic to see that they'd still won the cup. Maybe Kingsley would get them another fun addition to the common room to complement the trampoline? He could only hope. He joined Sully in whooping and cheering for Gryffindor, clapping obnoxiously when the cup was handed over, and tucked into eating his food once everything had settled down. If the feast at the start of the year was anything to go by, he'd have to wolf it down before it was all covered in slime.

Harper couldn't quite believe that her first year at Hogwarts was already coming to an end. It felt like she'd entered this very hall for the first time just weeks ago. Now she was surrounded by new friends, celebrating her house's victory. The Great Hall definitely looked much better in red and gold. Though the year had gone smoothly — barring the unfortunate potions incident — she was definitely looking forward to going home for a few months and seeing her friends and family. It was a bit strange to think that it had been several months since she'd heard their voices, and she couldn't wait to properly catch up with all of them.

Professor Alicastell started off the feast by announcing Gryffindor's victory, and Harper joined her tablemates in cheering loudly. She was also excited to hear that Gryffindor's top points earner was one of her roommates, and she shot Emmaline a grin as she clapped. The next part of Professor Alicastell's speech was a bit of a downer since Harper had definitely been hoping to show off some of the stuff she'd learned to her siblings. She supposed photos would have to suffice though she didn't have many of them. But that was a problem for another time, and for now she would enjoy her last meal at Hogwarts for the year. She surveyed the table, trying to figure out what to start with first.

Walking into the hall for the End of Term feast, Skylar grinned in delight as she saw the colours of the banners hanging up from the ceiling. They’d done it! Gryffindor had won! She smiled as she thought about the fact that she’d helped her house win, and she set herself a small goal for the next year, which was to contribute as much, if not more house points for her house to win again.

As the winners of the top house point earners were announced, Skylar cheered as her friend Emmaline’s name was called as the second place winner. She was so proud of her, she knew she spent hours upon hours studying so she was well deserving of this award. But that wasn’t all, and Skylar cheered even louder as Ruben’s name was called as the fourth place winner! Although he was a Slytherin, he was still her friend, and she smiled, remembering their first ever meet-up which seemed ages ago, but was really just a few months back.

She was about to tuck into the food when she heard the Headmistress give one last warning, which was that no magic was to be practiced outside of school during the holidays. Skylar groaned in disappointment when she heard it, she’d been so excited to show her family what she could do! But she knew it was for their own safety, so she made a quick mental note to not practice any magic, before tucking in to the delicious food that lay in front of her, already thinking about what new and exciting things she’d get up to next year and over the holidays.

Beckett came back to the place where it all began, and ironically the place where it would all end. He had everything packed all there was left to do was attending to the feast and he would be leaving until next year. As he entered he saw the red and gold banners and flags representing Gryffindor decorating the Great Hall. Beckett couldn't help but feel disappointed at himself and Ravenclaw, they should be the ones winning the House Cup.

The Headmistress then announced the top house point earners, Beckett guessed they were the people with more points in each house because he was certain that he had more points then some of them. He was glad that Minnie had won first place, after all it was her that had advised him on how to do better in classes and in his social life, it was good to see that her method worked. Deep inside he was really jealous of her because he didn't stand a chance to be best in Ravenclaw until he was able to take electives which would still take a year but after that he was going to be in first place for sure. What he was most amazed was Emmaline's name being called, he couldn't help but feel incredibly jealous of her, he clearly underestimated her but at the same time it meant that absolutely no Gryffindor was as hard working as a first year girl which the Ravenclaw couldn't help but find amusing. At least in Ravenclaw he a little internal competition and someone to look up to unlike the Gryffindor girl.

With one last warning the Headmistress finished her speech and they got to eat. All that overthinking and disappointment of not being the best had left Beckett not hungry at all, he was filled with failed expectations already and couldn't even imagine what his parents would say when they knew he was the second best. He could already hear them 'Harringtons are never second best! We didn't got this far by being lazy and settle for second best'.

Eric hated the end of year feast. The only good thing about it was that the school year was now over. He hated how crowded the Gryffindor table was, making it impossible to keep distance from any of the other students. He'd considered skipping it and staying in his room, but he wasn't going to go hungry just because the feast was dumb. His fellow Gryffindors were extra annoying today because they had won the cup. Professor Alicastell announced it, then presented the trophy to Professor Kingsley. The whole house point system was stupid, and Eric didn't get why no one else seemed to realize it was just a meaningless reward meant to keep them in line. But even though he hated everything about this, he still smiled a little as it was revealed that Minnie didn't only have the most points in Ravenclaw, but of the entire school. Of course she did. Eric cast a glance in her direction, but then looked away. She was with Noel, so he shouldn't even be thinking about her anymore. After the professor's final reminders, they could finally eat. Eric elbowed the person next to him as he reached over for some food, not bothering to apologize. Everyone was being obnoxious, and it was irritating him.

Finaly this year was over. Alexandra was so happy that she can go soom her lovely home Russia. She was sit the Ravenclaw house table and looked around. The next year she promised her self learned english ans there be no more problem to learning.

Violette still couldn't quite believe her first year was over, though she was glad to go home to her parents for the first time in a long time. They still wanted her to stay with Grace during the school breaks, but at least over the big break she was allowed to go home to France. She knew her father would be disappointed in her lack of important friends, as she had been tasked with trying to befriend kids of important wizarding families in New Zealand, but at least she could curl up with her own books in her own room soon. That was a comfort. Violette noticed that the girl next to her was one of her dorm mates, and she gave Alexandra a shy smile before focusing her attention on the Headmistress. Her eyes widened as she heard just how many points one of the Ravenclaw girls had won, and she turned her attention to the girl in question, who was also one of the Ravenclaw captains. She bet her parents were proud of her in a way Violette's never would be. The Gryffindors seemed very happy with their victory, and Violette wondered if Ravenclaw could win next year. It would be nice to see the decorations turn blue and bronze. She started eating quietly once the speeches were over, already thinking of the train ride back home.

Ruben couldn't help but be a little sad that he would be leaving Hogwarts. He was glad that he could go home and just relax without having to study or having the exams pressure but he also wished he could just stay at Hogwarts during the break. On the bright side he had something to look forward to, seeing his brother after his sudden transfer to Ilvermorny.

Professor Alicastell started congratulating Gryffindor on their victory, Ruben didn't particularly liked Gryffindor, he didn't have anything against Gryffindors but he just found that the house seemed to have a better reputation than the others because of Harry Potter. He was looking at his plate thinking to himself when suddenly he heard his name being said and his house members clapping and looking at him. For a second he thought that maybe he was in trouble, but if he was then his housemates wouldn't be clapping.
He realised that they were clapping because apparently he had been the Slytherin that earned the house more house points. In a global prespective he wasn't even closer to being the one with more points in the whole school but he guessed he still had a few years to achieve that.

Professor Alicastell then warned not to do magic during the break, which was a huge buzzkill, what was the purpose of learning if he couldn't even practice at home. The boy then hurried to get some chicken wings, if there was one thing he would definitely miss was the food from Hogwarts thankfully that the second year would also start with a feast.

The thrill of winning had never faded for this Gryffindor. Professor Kingsley proudly accepted the house cup on behalf of her house and took it to back to her seat where she happily displayed it so the Gryffindors could see. She knew how hard they'd all worked, and she was glad they'd had their celebration a few weeks ago, even if had been a tad premature. It obviously hadn't jinxed anything. So there, she thought to herself. This had been an eventful year for the woman even outside of the cup winnings. Her middle son was a graduate now and her youngest had completed her first year at HNZ. Kingsley couldn't be happier, and hoped this didn't mean the other shoe would drop soon. Pushing those thoughts away, Cyndi turned to her colleague to find out their vacation plans.

Rose knew that they was no way Hufflepuff had won the cup. They were behind by a great bit and she was sure that the exams hadn't done anything to fix the gap. She had done her best, but she had also gotten a few deduction points. Not that it mattered a lot, she clapped for Gryffindor and looked around in the great hall. Soon she was going to a be a second year Hufflepuff and a new year meant new chances for Hufflepuff to win. She would love a trampoline or swing set in her common room like Gryffindor had earned,

Iris took her seat at the Ravenclaw table next to her friend Poppy, shooting her a smile. It was strange that their third year was done, and Iris had some bittersweet feelings about it all. She had been wanting nothing more than to learn about Divination for her first two years at Hogwarts, but now that she had it had become clear she didn't really have a knack for it as much as she had hoped. She knew that hard work would get her grades up, but it was still a bit of a disappointment. She listened as Professor Alicastell listed the biggest house point earners, clapping for them politely. She also clapped for Gryffindor, smiling at her sister at the Gryffindor table, celebrating with everyone else. Once the feast started officially, she turned to her roommate. "Are you excited for the break?" She asked her friend.

@Poppy Perkins

Penny didn't particularly like to see the Gryffindor emblem decorating the hall, but with so many more points than Slytherin in second place, she'd take it. The Gryffindors must've worked hard. Penny had worked averagely hard this year and hadn't lost any house points, even though she had illegally brewed a Potion. How Finn and she had got away with that baffled her! After Professor Alicastell finished her speech, the blonde shouted to the next table over, "CONGRATS GRYFFINDOR!" Penny had better things to do than hold resentment over a trophy.

The end of the year had finally come about and Flynn was a little shocked at how fast it had passed. And he almost wished he had some more time at the castle and didn't have to go back home. But the red and gold in the Great Hall was a nice sight to see, even if he didn't care in the slightest about some stupid House Cup and house points, but it was still nice to win and he made extra sure to clap extra loudly as it was announced to everyone that Gryffindor had won. But with the announcements out of the way, and the sucky reminder that he couldn't even do magic outside of school, the only thing left to do was make a grab for some food. And that was something he wasted absolutely no time in doing as he started piling his plate with chips.

Emmmaline honestly could not believe that her first year at Hogwarts New Zealand had come to an end. The first semester had been so exciting, so scary. She had to learn her place among the crowds, but also make sure she was standing out grade wise. Her mother had made it clear the pressures the young girl was under to be get the very best grades and make the very best resume for her future. In reality, that future was a long way away; she was only going to be a second year now after all. But Emmaline pushed all those thoughts aside. Today was a day to celebrate. She had finished a whole year, did the the best she could, and made some great friends along the way. She did more than survive this year, something she was proud of.

The young girl adjusted her hair and uniform before entering the Great Hall. She took a seat down at the Gryffindor table, her blue eyes gazing around for Hunter. Not being able to spot him right away, she began to look around the Great Hall, a lovely room she would definitely miss over the summer. It was so much more than her cozy kitchen at home. As Emmaline glanced around she noticed the normal banners had begun to change. The colours soon represented Gryffindor colours. This could only mean one thing, a thing that was confirmed when the speech began. Gryffindor had won the house cup!

A huge smile spread across her face as she began to clap along side her housemates. This was a huge deal. Her first year here and her house had won the house cup! The young girl could not believe it. As the clapping died down, Emmaline assumed the speech was over. That was not the case as individual name's were to be listed for earning the top house points. The young girl held her breathe; she had not realized something like this would be announced. I should have tried harder. She thought to herself for a moment.

The first name announced was a Ravenclaw girl. Emmaline felt a slight ping in her heart, but she could not help but be happy for the other girl. She must have put all the work in. And at least it wasn't Beckett She could not help but think of the boy who doubted her, who was part of many unpleasant interactions. Now wasn't the time to think of that as the speech continued. To her disbelief her name was spoken aloud. Second Place. Her blue eyes grew wide as she heard some clapping. She looked around the table returning Harper's smile. Harper was another girl who Emmaline had gotten to know, but not nearly enough in her opinion.

The shock of the fact her name was said aloud did not go away. Even as the speech was over and everyone began to eat, Emmaline still could not help the wave of emotions going through her. She was proud and happy for sure. Deep down there was a worry if it would be good enough for her mother. Luckily the good emotions overcast that doubt as she let out a breath and began to dig in to some delicious food. She would miss the food being cooked for her. After a whole year away, Emmaline wondered if she would even know how to work an oven anymore.

The second semester of the school year always seemed to fly by quickly, especially with roses. She knew it was only one day a year, but with preparations and managing it all it always felt like it took up a lot of her time. She had aced her exams, which she was pleased about, and had had a pretty good year overall. Things were definitely looking up for Alice, even if she was sad Diana was leaving school for good. Alice made sure to sit near Elliot, giving him a small smile before looking at Professor Alicastell. She announced that Gryffindor had won the cup, and Alice clapped for the winning house even if she was a bit sad it wasn't Hufflepuff. At least Rose would be pleased once she told her. Then she announced the winners of most points for each house, and Alice grinned at Elliot proudly. "Good job!" She said happily. He must have worked hard, she didn't come close to having that many points.

@Elliot Briar

Professor Drage joined in the applause for this years’ House Cup winners. She had no attachment to a particular house, but she was happy for the Gryffindors all the same. Lydia smiled a little as the Headmistress reminded students about the use of magic outside of school. She remembered how painful that had been to her and her siblings, now over a decade ago on their breaks from Ilvermorny.

Departing from her usual tea, Lydia sipped at a cup of sparkling juice as the feast commenced. Even though she had spent a full term at Hogwarts New Zealand, she still felt like a newbie and outsider. Hopefully, next year, she would be more established as the Defense Against the Dark arts professor for younger years, and not just a stranger standing in for @Professor Kalif Styx. Although they shared the same subject (and blood, for that matter, although Lydia was very private about this and meant to keep it that way,) they were seated a chair away from one another.

Lydia leaned in and chatted with @Professor Cyndi Kingsley about the upcoming vacation. “Congrats on Gryffindor winning the Cup!” She looked up to the Head of House and Ancient Runes professor, who Lydia calculated must have been in this school going on forty years. The younger witch had no wild plans- she just wanted to rest up and prepare for the next school year. In a few weeks, Olivia was planning to drag her to something called a Herbology Fair. Lydia thought she might enroll in an amateur duelling tournament, if the timing was right. But otherwise, she just wanted to relax and unwind.

The end of the year meant that Professor Kalif Styx would be heading back to his home, and dealing with his family. It was a lose lose situation, but at least where it counted, he could easily deal with people a bit easier than here. He sat next to his wife and the Gryffindor Head of House, who seemed all too pleased to win an empty cup. However, whether or not he cared for it, that was another story and a mystery. Given the incentive he presented during the previous house meeting, he wondered if Slytherin would attempt to follow through. He did put the blame on Kingsley for even having the idea of something so 'fun' in the common room. Kalif also had to see which of the new Zhefarovich children would be attending next year. That alone was a pain. So much to do, so little time. He reached out with his gloved hand and sipped on his bitter tea, while watching the students enjoy the feast.

Blake was wearing her favourite dress when she entered the Great Hall. She waited the whole year to be able to wear it and it was honestly a struggle to keep her from wearing it in any other occasion. It was a long black dress with a cleavage that most people would find extremely bold for an eleven year old girl but Blake had always been used to wear those kind of dresses and by now she wore them with a natural confidence.

The girl looked at the flags hanged and she was pretty sure that her house had won this year's house cup but before she did anything she waited to hear those words from Professor Alicastell. Once she had the confirmation she started clapping and cheering for Gryffindor, a thing that she had learned to do with Skylar in the Quidditch stands. She had to admit that it was kind of therapeutic to scream that loud, even as a cheer.

When Emmaline was announced to be the Gryffindor with most points she couldn't help but go for a hug to her friend who was right beside her. Emmaline was probably shocked about the hug and they never really did that before but Blake kept going. "I know her, she's my friend" she said as the other students looked at Emmaline, Blake was really proud of her. She even gave the girl a little standing ovation, mostly to show off her dress again but those were just details.

Professor Alicastell finished her speech with some warning that Blake didn't cared to listened and she immediately started attacking on the food. Hogwarts couldn't have been better, she had to admit she was sketchy during her sorting ceremony but she created lots of precious memories through the year, not to mention her group of friends. The Gryffindor first year girls had kinda been a family to her and that's all she could have asked for.
