[Monty Pendleton]

Monty gestured for the next two contestants to mount the stage, taking a moment to refresh them of the rules before allowing them to begin. He wasn't prepared to stand for any naughtiness today, and surely hoped he would not have to intervene the duel. With any luck, it would be a clean, fair fight.

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

Simon loved the competition, he hadn't won for his year yet, but he was keen to try his hand at it again and would continue to try until he got something, won or maybe came close again. He didn't know the girl he was fighting that day, but it didn't matter, they were just duelling. He went through the usual process of the beginning the duel and then raised his wand and said, "Stupefy," start light and easy

Charlie hated clubs. She hated attention. She hated big groups of people, and though the dances were growing on her, she hated most school events. But the one thing she had been looking forward to ever since last year, was the duelling tournament. She hadn't done as well last year as she hoped, but Defense Against the Dark Arts was the only subject Charlie really cared about, and she was determined to put her skills into better practice this year, and take home the win. She readied herself as her duel began, frustrated when her opponent got a spell in before her. Frustrated, Charlie shielded quickly, throwing a spell back at her opponent in retaliation. "Confundo!"

Simon blocked her spell as it rushed towards him. Confundo was a good spell. He liked it a lot. The boy adjusted the hold on his own wand as he pointed it towards her and said, "Densaugeo," Simon shot back at her.

Charlie blocked Simon's spell quickly, her heart racing with adrenaline. She moved a little as she cast her next spell, hoping to catch him unawares with a jelly fingers curse.

Charlie's eyes widened as a blast of fire shot at her, and she threw up a shield quickly, alarmed that her opponent would do something so dangerous. It reminded her of some of the worse kids she had met in Australia, and made her a lot more wary of the boy she was facing. Considering her options quickly, Charlie fired back a conjunctivitis curse, hoping to end this soon.

Simon just managed to dodge out of the way of the spell as it rushed towards him. It had been thrown at a slightly different angle, but he took advantage of his new position to quickly throw back at her a Bat-bogey hex. Hopeful that it would hit and distract her enough to let him take the victory
