Izzy was more than proud when she was chosen as co-captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team. She was also glad that if she had to be co-captain, it was with someone she knew from classes and the common room, not to mention the prefect responsibilities. She made sure to arrive at the pitch relatively early, as she didn't want to seem like she wasn't the right person for the job, and she waited for Tholomyes when she arrived with her broom in one hand and line-up from last year's team in the other. Once Theo arrived, Isabelle beamed and showed him the list. The Ravenclaw was excited to see who would be the new additions to the team, and she hoped that she would be as good as the other captains of previous years because one thing she did not want to experience was letting them down.

It seemed as though no more people were going to join them today, so Isabelle smiled as she stood and cleared her throat, to get everyone's attention.
"Morning everyone. I'm Isabelle Marie, or if you prefer Izzy, and this is Tholomyes, we are your Co-Captains this year. I'm seeker and Theo is beater. Anyone who was on the team last year does not need to try out and therefore automatically keeps their position, I suggest that you get some practice done, a few laps around the pitch. Newcomers, please line up here in front so you can tell me your names and the position that you are trying out for. Once you are ready you may begin. Good luck!" She glanced at Theo in case he wanted to add anything. Once they were ready to begin, she released the balls from the chest that were needed for the players.

OOCOut of Character:
Players who were on the team last year do not need to try out again as you already have a spot on the team, but before you're guaranteed the position you need to post once for attendance. Alternates do need to try out again.

First years need to PM me or Emzies first before posting in this topic as you need permission from either one of us, with valid reason.

Theo couldn’t quite believe he had been made captain with isabelle. He couldn’t believe it at all. He had never expected to be, nor did he really believe that he should’ve gotten it. After all, he wasn’t always very good, he had some really big off days, but here he was with Isabelle on the pitch, ready to just get started on the try-outs. He was at the very least happy he could share the responsibility and the work with someone, so that when he was inevitably terrible it would still work out because someone else could help out or take care of it. Theo smiled at Isabelle as the first people started arriving, he felt more confident with someone next to him, helping him deal with it. He smiled at a few of the other members of the team as they joined the crowd, and only when it seemed everyone had arrived that Isabelle began speaking. he nodded politely at her introduction of both herself and him. He continued to nod, quite happy with all that she was saying and not really believing he needed to add anything else to it, however, he did add once she indicated to him, "Above all, try to have fun, quidditch is fun," That was all Theo wanted to say really, so he just smiled, "Let's begin," he finished waving his hands a little as others took to the sky.

Noemie smiled to herself as she stepped out on to the pitch. She was ready for another semester of flying around and playing quidditch. She had thoroughly enjoyed her first year on the team and was enthralled for a second one. She looked to the new captains and nodded, trusting them fully in their ability to lead the team. The moment that she was able to, the part-veela hopped on to her broom and shot up into the air. She'd have the opportunity to practice and work on the improvements she had already been making since first joining the team.

Flavio had been given a brand new broomstick for his birthday which only made him more eager to return to school and play quidditch again. Though he did not need to bring the broom with him to try outs he made sure to anyway, just in case he needed to help anyone else who was trying out. He arrived to the pitch with the broom in one hand and smiled politely as the new captains introduced themselves. He then waited for a few minutes to allow the new people trying out to gather their bearings before he flew into the air himself. The new broom flew smooth and was exceptionally easy to control in the air, he couldn't wait to see how different it would be in games when the stakes were higher and his flying needed to be more precise. However until then he was happy to fly around and assist anyone as they needed it.

This was the day that Elly was going to try out for a position in the Quidditch team. It was scary and really exciting as well. She had talked about this for so long and now she couldn't back down anymore. In her holiday she had brought a nice looking broom with her mother and some other Quidditch necessities. With her broom in her hand and a backpack on her back she was ready. She walked up to the pitch and looked at the captain and the old team. ''Hello Elizabeth Chatwin trying out for Chaser.'' Elly smiled broadly. ''But I can keep a fair bit aswell, I was a stopper in Volleyball'' Elly smiled. She took a sip from her special potion and mounted her new broom. Flying felt as a second nature for Elly and this was the moment she had to show that she had some skills in her.

Elly flew up high and caught the quaffle, she hold it securely and waited for another chaser of her team to be free. Elly spotted a free chaser and threw the quaffle with precise movements. Elizabeth flew up to the hoops and waited for the chaser to throw it back or to make an attempt to score a goal. She got the quaffle back and threw it through the middle hoop. It was a direct goal and Elly was happy she at least got one goal in. Elly flew back to the other side of the pitch to defend and try to steal the quaffle from the other team. The other team was good and she couldn't steal the quaffle away from them. The quaffle got back into their position and Elly caught the quaffle again. Her volleyball training had brought her some skills she could use in Quidditch. Elly flew up to the hoops and threw it through the lowest hoop. She missed by an inch and the quaffle hit the iron frame of the hoop. ''Ugh'' Elly muttered from under her breath. She was focussed and wanted to score at least twice. She wanted and kind of needed this.

Elly flew back to the other team and were she intercept the quaffle the previous time with a quick swoop she had it back into her secure hold. Elly turned around quickly and threw the quaffle from a bit farther. She should have passed it to another chaser, but she wanted to score herself. To her luck the Quaffle fell through the lowest hoop with a thud on the ground. Elizabeth smiled broadly and knew she did a good job. She also wanted to show of her keeper abilities. She loved playing a keeper too. She was always a stopper when she played volleyball. The only downside was that she was a bit too small for the job. The other stopper of her old team were really long. Elly asked the person that was in the goal currently to switch with her. The old keeper didn't seem to mind and Elly flew into her new position.

Being a keeper was somewhat easier for Elly since you had less variables to watch out for. She only needed to watch the opposing team rather than both. And the only persons she had to watch were the other chasers and an upcoming bludger. A chaser from the opposing team came into her view and Elly was prepared for the upcoming moment. She blocked the quaffle and threw it to one of the chasers. Elly thought it was going well until an enemy chaser came from out of nowhere and knocked the quaffle through one of the hoops. ''Argh'' Elly muttered and tried to focus on the game. The game soon ended after the last goal and Elly mounted of her broom.

Elly walked up to the team and thanked them all for the game. She took her backpack and took her arm and knee pads off. She had done a fairly good job in her eyes, but it was all about what the captain had seen. She didn't know where this would lead to. Elly only hoped she could just play some games in the upcoming competition.

Jackson had kept a low profile during his first year at Hogwarts and he wanted to change that going into his second. He didn't want to be a wallflower, he didn't want to go under the radar. His cousin James was a prefect, brotherhood president and quidditch captain. Jackson wanted to be more like that, he wanted people to know who he was. Jackson knew playing Quidditch would be a good start, after all the sport was huge thing on his fathers side of the family, being part of that family was still a very new thing for Jackson, but he was slowly getting used to it.

Once he was changed into practice robes, Jackson made his way over the captains with his new broom in hand, a birthday gift from his father, it was still strange to think his father was wealthy. "Jackson Cade, trying out for beater," He said as confidently as he could muster before climbing on his broom and rising into the air. Jackson had not done so well on a broom when he had learned in first year, but it was so important to his father that his on could fly that he had taught him during the holidays, for Jackson it was just nice to spend time with the man and get to know him.

Jackson gripped the club tightly as he scanned the skies looking around for bludgers, the first one he saw wasn't minding anyone but the Ravenclaw still took the opportunity to flex his muscles and took a big swing and sent the bludger even further away from his fellow Ravenclaws. Once he got his first shot out of the way, Jackson felt more confident going forward. He stopped a bludger hitting a hopeful keeper, only to send it in the direction of a seeker looking for the snitch. Luckily Jackson was quick enough to get between player and bludger, Jackson breathed a sigh of relief as he sent the bludger off in the opposite direction.

When the tryouts finally came to an end, Jackson made his way back to the ground, he panted heavily as he climbed off his broom. He wanted to say thank you to the captain but he couldn't catch his breath long enough so he just nodded and made his way off the pitch.

Eros wasn't a hundred percent sure with himself when he decided to try out for the team. Really, his sister suggested he did something new this year. Both his parents agreed, and said it would be good for him. That'll he know what it feels like to work as team, and it'll all come handy some day. So he took their advice, and didn't let any negative thoughts get to him. But when the day had come, he was all nervous and he lack the focus to concentrate. He loved flying, but it was his first time ever trying out for the team. He didn't fear getting rejected, or maybe he did? There was no telling, still his mind was made up to try out.

Eros made his way down to the pitch, borrowing one of his sister's broomstick. He waved at both captains, both he had noted to be in the same year as him. "Hey, Eros Lee. I'm a sixth year trying out for keeper." Eros announced. Dress in some light swish pants and shirt he usually wore for jogging, Eros mounted his broom and took off.

Keeper was a more, station position. Keeper had to stay guarding the hoops and keeping the chasers from the opposing team from scoring. Keeper didn't have to do much flying, but they had to block loads. It sounded pretty simple in his head. "Alright then!" Eros wore helmet that was thrown at him, and got into position. His object of the game was simple, not to let them score. They started throwing passes towards the hoops, Eros raised his one hand up blocking just about as many shot he could manage.

It wasn't perfect, he had zero stragedy. But after some time, he knew went to think fast and knock the quaffle out of range from scoring. When he was lucky to catch the bulking round ball, he tossed it over to his teammates. A few more times of that, passing it back to his chasers, he was getting a lot better then he had imagine. Eros felt as his tryout was a success.

"Cheers for the opportunity. I had fun!" He shouted, smiling at both captains.

Viktor Styx was not really sure why he was going to bother with Quidditch, but his father told him that he needed to learn more of the hobbies of others. His sister was prefect, his older brother had friends, and the other sister had a fiance. So, apparently, it was up to Viktor to actually do something else. Achlys and Nerine were both sorted into the same houses as Hades' children. It was interesting to say the least. The only one that was different was Lanithro. Viktor walked up to the co-captains, with his name written down on a sheet of paper, before holding up a beater's bat for them to figure out what he was going to try out for. After all, he felt that he didn't need to speak in order to try it. Viktor waited for the others to arrive, before going for it. He mounted his blue broom, and soared into a few laps. For someone who skipped flying classes because he wasn't a fan of them in general, it seemed like he had a knack for flying and the skill he had seemed to be buried within, waiting to come out. But this was just doing laps. Would it include actually hitting a ball?

Now, for the actual try out part. He flew around the chasers, but didn't really stay too close to them, since he needed to guard them. He needed to remember that. Don't try to hit them. Viktor gripped the bat and soared through the air, taking aim and whacking a bludger away from a chaser that it was determined to hit. The force brought him some pain within his upper arm, for not trying to beef himself up a little more before trying out. Viktor continued the same treatment over and over, rinse and repeat. Viktor thought that he did a decent job for his first try at this, and figured that they had enough beaters. Still, Viktor wanted that position only, since he wanted to cause pain and hurt, not score goals and trick the chasers. That was not his position. He landed,
gave a curt nod and left the field.

Almost stumbling over his own feet in his effort to get to the Quidditch Pitch, Icarus bolted across the lawn with broom in hand, his prized Nimbus 2001 clutched tightly by his side. He was so glad that he'd met the Hufflepuff team captain, and that he'd helped him with choosing a decent broom to start with, though he couldn't help but feel disappointed that he hadn't been sorted into the same house. At least then, he would have felt more comfortable trying out knowing there was a familiar face, who also happened to be the decision maker of the team. That didn't stop him from attempting to make the Ravenclaw team, however. Despite the general fact that first years weren't typically considered for the teams, Icarus was too eager to join to pass up the slightest opportunity to make it. He had at least some experience flying prior to being sorted, even if it was typically quite limited and almost always supervised. He could only hope it was enough to impress them.

Stopping at the edge of the group to catch his breath, panting breathlessly by now, he was somewhat surprised by how small the crowd was. He expected twenty, maybe thirty people. He couldn't fathom how not everyone wanted to be on the team. It really fed in to the apparent stereotype that Ravenclaws were all simply introverted bookworms, which may have been mostly true, but their house animal was an eagle. If anyone should have been the best flyers, it was the house represented by a bird.

Feeling a little small, Icarus initially hung back and watched as one by one, the older students took to the sky. They all seemed so...experienced. Not wanting to let the doubt sink in, the youth jumped forward and announced himself a little loudly to the captains. "HelloI'mIcarusI'mTryingOutForChaser." He spoke all at once, worried that he'd chicken out around all of these older students if he spent too long on the ground. The position he was after was one he'd thought long and hard about, and as if by fate his final decision ended up being available. After seeing one of the other student's performance however, he didn't know if his chances were too high. There was only one way to find out.

Mounting his Nimbus, Icarus kicked off the ground and rose to the sky. In no time at all, he'd somehow caught a quaffle that was passed to him and was shooting off toward the hoops. He had at first been worried that it would be almost impossible to score against a keeper was held years of experience, but as it just so happened, that particular position was available too, which evened out the playing field. Entering the scoring zone, Icarus tossed the leather bound ball toward one of the hoops, and was dismayed to see it immediately blocked. He hadn't really put any tactic behind his shot, more so hoping for the best than anything else. On his second lap around, he attempted his best fake out toward the left most hoop, though targeted the right at the last moment. The Keeper at the time appeared to catch on pretty quickly, but it had still given him just enough time. The quaffle barely brushed the keepers fingertips before sailing through the hoop, and Icarus cheered from atop his Nimbus.

With a few more plays under his belt, the boy felt more confident in knowing what he was doing, but he was far from perfect. There was still plenty of more experience needed before he could consider himself on par with the other chasers already on the team. Touching down to the ground, the youth thanked them and reluctantly left the pitch behind him, anxious about the wait to see the team posted up.

It had taken October a long time to decide whether or not to try out for Quidditch. The thought had crossed her mind last year, but it felt like a responsibility too many, too much work. Being in Heta Omega had reminded her though, how much she liked being part of a team, a group, and she yearned for the days of ballet, when she was in a group working towards a common goal. It was part of her life she hadn't realised was missing until now, and it felt like time to get it back. Even with the added responsibilities of being a third year, surely this would be doable. People balanced school and Quidditch all the time.

The indecisiveness cost October though, and she was one of the last to make her way down to the pitch in time for the tryouts. Hoping it wouldn't count against her, October was still puffing as she introduced herself. "October Alcott, trying out for Seeker." October knew the team already had a seeker, but it would be good to play as an alternate for a few years, while she was still getting used to the sport. October was an okay flier, but she had never really paid much attention to Quidditch. Seeker appealed to her the most as a position though - it seemed to require the same nimbleness that served her so well in ballet.

When her name was called, October mounted her broom, taking a couple of shaky breaths before kicking off the ground. She kept her balance easily on the broom, and flew a quick lap to warm up and focus. Once the snitch was released she began scanning the pitch, flying wide arcs around the field. Her eyes scanned the sky carefully, and it only took a couple of minutes before October spotted a speck of gold, hiding near the opposing goalposts. She ducked low to the broom and shot after it, eyes narrowing slightly against the wind as she tried to keep it in her sights. The ball began to zip away but October stayed on it, extending one hand as she focused on nothing but the Snitch, letting out a triumphant laugh as her hand closed around it. She had done it! Beaming with excitement, October kept a tight grip on her broom as she descended back to the team, heart racing. How had nobody told her what a thrill Quidditch was before?!
