Hi Hilary, hope you don't mind but I downloaded some photo's that I thought might be nice to have for the garden. Take a look and see if you can use any of them! :D

How about we breath some life into these gardens?

I know I have my own ideas of what they look like, but is it better to keep the ideas different for each role-play; or should we have a basic idea set out for everyone?

I haven't looked overly hard, but I came across these; which may not be perfect, but could give us an idea to work on:

With a few ideas of what people would like to see, maybe we can crate a nice description for the gardens. ^_^

I like a less structured and less flowery approach, myself. One garden that I love above all others is Bok Tower Gardens in Florida. Bok Tower was originally an estate, so it has big sweeping lawns beneath enormous trees (such as Bay and Oak and Willow etc.) with the occasional path that you can follow to some little hidden nook that you could spend all day in just admiring what meets your eyes (I've done that there...) There are flowerbeds, but there's a conservative amount of them so that they don't overwhelm you. Everything looks perfectly natural in its place, like it just grew there. Yet you can see order and structure to them if you look a bit more closely.
Here's some pictures of it.

One of its flowerbed areas at the height of their blooms:

The photos do little to do it justice, I'm afraid. Unfortunately I couldn't take my own photos of it =( I swear, it's one of my absolute favorite places on Earth. I'd love to have the Gardens of Hogwarts NZ to be like Bok Tower.
