Aonghas arrived at the great hall in his usual suit. He was glancing around the room, looking for anything to take his fancy. He didn’t know why he bothered still coming to these. It meant nothing to him. Valentines day here or valentine's day at home would just be the same. He was looking out for Katia amongst the rest of them. She wasn’t particularly fond of dancing, but Aonghas always thought they should keep up the pretense of their relationship. He sent her a red rose, as he always did, though he wasn’t sure he actually loved her. He appreciated her greatly, she was exactly who he needed and she understood him like no one else did, but he didn’t love her yet. He liked her, she was beautiful but love. Love was a strong word. Like he always did, Aonghas made his way to the snacks table and helped himself to some treats as he waited for him to spot her. Or perhaps to even just spend time with another friend for once.
