Gabriella was back on Hogwarts and she didn't knew what she had to think of it. At home things were intense, but that gave her more pressure than ever. Gabriella didn't want her father to become angry at her too and react it on her. Now it was Lauren, and Gabriella didn't liked that. But she didn't dared to go against her father. For Gabriella it was clear what she needed to do, but she could not forget the image inside of her mind. She felt frozen and powerless. Gabriella didn't had the best relationship with her sister, but she didn't hated her. They were just really different and that was sometimes hard. Gabriella just couldn't understand her. But seeing her being hurt by her parents was a image Gabriella couldn't put out of her mind. She had been crying all evening, and asked herself if she had became prefect if this wouldn't all happend. So for now it was better to be at school than at home. But Gabriella just knew she had to score high grades, better than ever if she wanted to please her father especially. She had to make up for the fact that she wasn't chosen as prefect. And also she had a big secret to keep now. Her parents wanted to keep up the good family name, but if this ever came out that was all gone. Gabriella didn't knew what to say to Lauren. Gabriella had stayed with her in the train to Hogwarts, instead of walking away. But all the road long it was silent. But when Lauren walked off to her friends, it seemed like nothing happend over the break. And Lauren smiled bright to her friends and Gabriella almost buyed it. She was a good actress it seemed. Lauren just wanted to pretend that things were normal it seemed and that was exactly what her parents had wanted of them. Gabriella would not go against that. What did she had to do?

The blonde wanted some distraction and needed to focus on her study, to prepare well for classes. The blonde would meet up with Marcos in the library, a place where she often was. Marcos became quidditch co captain and she kind of thought that was something good for him. He had made a title and Gabriella was happy for him. She was not a big fan of quidditch, but watching Marcos playing was not so bad at all. And he kind of could make anything nice. Gabriella thought that it didn't mattered what it was, if he was there it was fine. She couldn't wait to see him again. Gabriella hoped that he wouldn't notice anything at her, and she was gonna do her very best to act normal. But when was it ever normal with them? They were just starting to hang out again, and Gabriella was happy with that. She didn't want this situation ruin it all again. The blonde found a table in the front and claimed the whole table with many books and waited for Marcos to join her.

With the new year beginning Marcos was tentative about the rekindling of his friendship with Gabriella, admittedly getting over her was proving more difficult than he might’ve imagined, but with each day it grew a little easier. He just had to focus on them not being together and just being friends. He could do friends, he had other friends and Gabriella was just the same. The teen had been pleased when she’d reached out to him to get together and study. He didn’t have nearly as many classes this semester, but with all of the techniques that he had learnt the prior year the boy was pretty keen to do as well in these classes he had as in his OWLs. after all, despite his fears of failing, he felt like he had achieved something. The teen was getting himself together to meet up with her gathering up books and notes that he might need to get started and then headed to the library. The break had been good for him, he thought about it a little less, thought about her and them as a couple, but it wasn’t too bad. He spotted in her in amongst the rest of the people in the library, the boy walked over to her and took a seat next to her, ”Hey Gabriella,” the teen gave her a little smile as he took out a few books and notes. ”How was your break?” the teen asked with a genuine curiosity, he hoped her holidays had been good.

Gabriella was waiting on Marcos so it was no surpise that he would come and ask about all stuff. That was what people always did. When she saw Marcos coming she pretended not seeing him and reading her book. And when he said her name she looked up with a smile. He calling her name was always something nice. And his face always was so friendly towards her. She thought she had ruined it all by ignoring him last year, but he wanted to give it another chance it seemed. Marcos liked her more than a friend than, and Gabriella sometimes thought that was the case with herself too. She could act strange and only think about him at some moments, but she had never been in love or something so it was hard to say what it was. But she was glad that he was now with her and wanted to study. This was the best way to keep in contact and she doing her very best to get all good grades, almost perfect ones. '' Hi Marcos.'' she than said and made room for him so he could sit or next to her or across her. She hoped that he would come sit next to her though. And he did so she blushed a bit. Gabriella.. what are you doing she than thought. He ofcourse asked about her break and now was the part that she needed to lie. But wasn't she always lying to him? About not having feelings for him or something in that way? But still it felt terrible, but she had to. She could just not tell him about what happend during the break at home and with Lauren.. Gabriella saw a flashback inside her mind but than remembered that she needed to answer. '' My break.. It was fine. Not something special. How about you? You made it to Quidditch Captain right?! That must be nice?'' Gabriella than answered and asked the boy. She had heard about him being captain together with the son of Kingsley. She than took her book for Astronomy and a parchmen and looked at it.

Marcos looked at her when he asked how her break was, there was a little paused between him asking it and her giving him an answer that felt a little off, like there was just something there that didn’t feel right, but he got the impression that she didn’t particularly want to talk about it and Marcos certainly didn’t want to pry into her life too much, that wasn’t really his place to be. He could listen if she spoke to him about it, but he didn’t want to linger on things that just weren’t good. ”It was good, I spent some time with Pia and Valentina, a little with Flavio but I’m glad to be back at school. It’s more home than anything else really,” he kept a light tone, though his gaze remained on Gabriella searching for whatever answers she wasn’t saying out loud. The teen nodded, ”Yeah, its really good! I’m so happy to have gotten it, I love quidditch, it’s what I want to do after school,” Marcos told her, honestly, though he left out a little about how he felt towards getting it with someone. He felt like it just wasn’t something that he wanted to get into with her, ”You’ll come support me at my games right?” the teen asked with a little smile. They hadn’t spent as much time hanging out in the year prior, and so he had to assume that she hadn’t been at his last few games, but maybe she would go now and support him instead of her house team of Slytherin. ”Gryffindor are definitely going to beat Slytherin this year!” it was a light tease as he opened some books and considered getting started.
