Character Spotlight
As you may have seen, Etoile Lefevre is the most recent character to be spotlighted, so a big congratulations to Jessye for that
. If youd like to congratulate Jessye yourself, check out the announcement!
Notifications
Have you all noticed the change with notifications? Rather than have all of the notifications listed with the rest of your PMs, now there is a whole separate Notification Centre! Its still linked to your PM box, but it lists all of your posts that others have liked separately as well as when you receive a grade in a class or drop a class. So, if you havent already, check it out .
Applications
A very big thank you to those of you who waited patiently for word on your applications. Nick & I have managed to get through nearly all of the applications, so if you sent one in now would be a good time to check your PMs

Hogwarts Monthly
To bring in the new school year, the staff for the Hogwarts Monthly has put out a new issue! Check it out here for some friendly advice about getting back into the swing of school.

New School Year
Monday marked the first day of Y14! For all of you with student characters: Have fun getting back to lessons . Were about to be heading into week 2 of lessons, but feel free to join us in the Start of Year Feast. Also, dont forget to join the House Meeting for your specific house. Im sure each of your Heads of House has something to say.
Sorting and Transfers
With classes heading into the second year, sorting and transfers are now closed. If youre interested in finding out the breakdown of students into each house, look no further than the next line:
72 students in total were sorted into the 1st year! 17 became Slytherins, 19 became Gryffindors, 18 became Ravenclaws and 18 became Hufflepuffs
In addition, 7 students were approved as transfer students.

Welcome to the New Professors
We wouldnt be able to run the school without professors for every class. Wed like to give a big thank you and welcome to the new professors to join the school.

Professor Sabrina Emmerich Potions 1-4
Professor Vessma Cresswell CoMC 3-4 , who took over after Professor Margera sadly died at the end of the school year.

Areas closed off for students
With the new school year underway, the wizarding world as well as the shopping areas have now been closed off to all students except for 1st years. These areas will be closing in a few days time to 1st years as well, so make sure that you make all of your purchases soon! Don't forget to get a wand!
Not many plots were sent in to be highlighted this week, but we do have a couple of really good ones for you. [ul][li]Two teenagers on a mountain at night, a recipe for disaster [This plot is not always visible to students]
After a month living in the mountains on her own, Briar runs into someone she has met once before, Dederick Cullen. After a dinner of rabbit stew as the sun sets, and conversations flowed. The night comes and leaves some nightmarish secrets to be reviled.
Other RPs in this Plot: After having a bite
The next morning Briar ends up at St mungo's and is aided by a healer called Alyssa, who tries her best despite the complexity of the situation at hand.</LI>
[li]Flirting with the Quaffle
Minoas receives and owl from Briar about teaching him some of her chaser techniques as she had promised him before the holidays. With her assistance Minoas revealed his talent on Briar's techniques as well as on some of his own. The two of them catch up after holidays and confess bits of themselves and their past that they don't usually reveal easily.[/li][/ul]
