It had been over the break between years that Jerara had spent far more time connecting with his family, since he had really fallen out of contact with them, and with the extra money he had made from working he'd been able to return home. It had been interesting and different, not only because in the time since he'd left for Hogwarts he had gained two siblings, one of whom, as his father put it, was as odd as Jerara had been at that age. He had spent time with his father connecting with a culture he had largely left behind. He had learned about some of the presumed spiritual figures within Aboriginal culture which had done things which Jerara would assume had been early magic. He told his father about school, and in the discussion, it had inspired him to go as one for halloween. A cleverman. But since he was sure the image would be lost on those he went to school to with so he'd spruced it up a little, made it more like a superhero. Which was his costume for halloween. He liked it, it mixed very normal clothes with the face paint and the eye colour. He was enjoying himself and it was nice to remember the world he had left behind as he forged on in the magical world. He was looking out for Ellie in the hall, knowing that due to the fact she'd graduate soon they had very limited time together, but he was also just enjoy the sights of the hall. Despite being bogged down in OWL work, the prefect was very happy with where he was in life.

Ethan wasn't too big on Halloween but he did like all the extra candy and sweets he got to consume, as well as looking at everyone's costumes. It was fun to try and guess what everyone was, especially some of the ones that were harder to guess right off the bat because sometimes it required deeper thinking in order to truly get the 'joke' or whatever they were trying to be. Tonight he'd simply donned some dog ears and a fake dog nose to go around as a puppy, though the Hufflepuff was still dressed in normal clothes, he had at least made sure to dress in all brown so it looked cohesive with his costume. As the boy walked around the great hall admiring everyone's costumes he saw one and tried to guess what it was, but after a few minutes he decided to simply walk up to the boy and ask. "Hey," the boy said casually with a small wave, "Cool face paint," he started off strong, "what are you supposed to be dressed as?" he asked in as friendly a tone as possible so the boy wouldn't take offense.
