Emmaline had been beyond focused on her classes lately. She had spent every night up late reading her textbooks and almost every free minute taking notes. This young Gryffindor was determined to succeed her at Hogwarts, but she could tell she was already getting a little burnt out. This morning she woke up at her desk using a Charms textbook as a pillow. That was enough for her to realize she needed to get out a little and clear her head. But where to go? Emmaline had made a point to want to explore the castle and map out all the passageways, but even that seemed like work right now to the brunette. Instead, she needed something calmer. Nature always calmed her down. Plus she had seen the killer view of the lake from the top of the towers her first week here. The lake seemed like the perfect place.
Emmaline gave Nova a little kiss on the kitten's nose. "I'll see you soon Nova." Emmaline said to the young kitten who was sleeping on her bed cuddled up in a cocoon of blankets. Nova gave a little 'meow' and went right back to sleep. Smiling at her new little friend, Emmaline quietly walked out of her dorm room, letting her feet take charge of where she was going. The lakefront was actually a quick walk. The young Gryffindor stopped almost out of breath from the view in front of her. Yes the lake looked amazing from above in the towers, but up close, Emmaline could even see the glisten of the water, the slight movement of the wind hitting the lake. It was beautiful, to put it lightly.
Emmaline swung her bag off her shoulder and unzipped it, revealing a comfortable blanket she had brought from her room. She laid it down neatly on the ground next to the lake. Zipping her bag back up, the young Gryffindor threw it aside and took a seat on the fuzzy blanket. It certainly would need washed after this since the ground was slightly muddy, but Emmaline did not care. It was worth it for a moment of relaxation. Laying down on the oversized blanket, Emmaline closed her blue eyes. She listened to the noise around her and focused on her breathing. Now this is what I needed. She thought enjoying the peace and quiet. It reminded her very much of when she would sneak out at home after putting River to sleep. Although Emmaline was outgoing, she would say at least, she did love some time to just be in her own thoughts.
