So, Now What?

Set some point during the Yule Ball

Thaddeus knew that if they would not talk about this now then they would probably avoid the topic as well as avoid each other and he didn't want that to happen. And so he decided to follow Clementine as she ran out of the Great Hall. It was exciting and relieving to know that she liked him as more than just friends after all those years, but he felt conflicted by it and didn't know what to do next. He pushed open the large doors and looked around the courtyard for his friend. When Thaddeus spotted Clementine sitting on one of the benches he slowly walked towards her and sat down next to the girl. ''We can talk this through, right?'' He said.

After hearing that Teddy had the same sort of feelings for her that she did for him, Clementine could feel herself getting overwhelmed with everything, especially considering neither of them could actually act on any of these newfound feelings. So she had done the only thing she could think of and simply left the yule ball to avoid everything for now. Though as she sat down outside in the courtyard to think over everything, she saw Teddy approaching her and sat down beside her. Half of her had been hoping he would run after her and she was happy he was here now, but the other half of her knew he shouldn't be here when he had a date waiting for him. Clementine sighed as he said they could talk through this and nodded in agreement but said, "Yes, we can, but this doesn't seem fair to your date." She had to keep bringing Beaubelle up to remind herself of why she shouldn't act on her feelings for him now. She chewed on her lip and said, "Maybe another night?" knowing full well she might lose her nerve and avoid him if she got the chance to leave now.

Beaubelle had always enjoyed the Yule Ball. She wasn't a dancer, she felt too insecure about that and believed she would step on everyones toes or fell or something. But she enjoyed watching people dancing together and she was looking for her date. Just when she thought she had found him she saw him going outside. Beaubelle frowned for a moment, because they would meet up here. But perhaps he had forgot something. The white blonde had no idea, why she wanted to follow him but she did. Beaubelle just wanted to spend some time with her boyfriend. It still sounded weird and Beaubelle had never been so happy in her life before. Thaddeus made her come to light and open up as a butterfly or something. Beaubelle liked being around people all of sudden and she didn't felt so insecure anymore. It even made her think of seeing Odette once again soon. She had missed her actually, and it was strange because Odette just left her as a third wheel for Margo but Beaubelle wasn't mad. She had spend time with others like Thaddeus too. When the white blonde saw Thaddeus going outside she looked around to think about her decesion. Was it wise to go after him outside? Or would something made her unhappy than? Beaubelle figured she was just gonna walk to him, perhaps he wasn't feeling okay and she didn't want that. When she followed him outside she searched for her boyfriend and found him sitting next to Clementine, that Beaubelle had seen walking around the castle sometimes. It was a friend of him. '' Hey. Where you done with the Ball?'' Beaubelle asked with a smile and looked at the girl next to him. '' You look very pretty! Clementine. Everything alright here?'' Thaddeus had spoke of her before and she sounded like a nice friend. She had no idea why the two would sit together outside, perhaps the crowd was too much.

He knew that this wasn't fair to Beaubelle, which was why he did not know what to do or how to feel at the moment. ''I know.'' the Gryffindor replied. He turned his head towards Clementine. ''Are you sure?'' He knew that both of them were probably thinking the same thing right now but before he could say another world, his girlfriend joined them. ''Hi,'' Thaddeus said, smiling weakly at his date. ''No, we... we just needed some air before going in again.'' He lied. He didn't know what say to Beaubelle but it was better than telling her the real reason why the two of them were sitting on the bench at the moment. What Thaddeus did know, however, was that his time with his best friend right now was over because he would need to get back inside with his girlfriend. ''It's just a bit hot in there, you know?'' He answered when she asked if everything was alright.

Clementine worried her bottom lip as she sat beside Teddy. Even though she had been the one to suggest they talk about this another time, she was glad he hadn't immediately agreed and left just yet. She knew that putting off this talk would make it easy for her to avoid the confrontation of all, but also, she had harbored feelings for Teddy for so long, she wanted to be able to express them now after burying them inside her all this time. Clementine reached forward to grab Teddy's hand but before she could do so, Teddy's girlfriend came out to join them, having seen them leave the great hall.

Clementine retracted her hand quickly and looked down at her hands in her lap in shame and then looked up as the Ravenclaw complimented her. As if this wasn't already hard enough, Beaubelle had to go and be a sweetheart to her. "Thanks," Clem smiled at her, "you look lovely as well," the Hufflepuff said with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. She nodded weakly as Teddy lied to Beaubelle and her stomach turned in knots. "Yeah," she said to support Teddy's lie. "I was - I was just telling Teddy here that he was such a great friend to me while I was with Anthony. And now I need to be a great friend while he's with you," Clem said, looking at Teddy pointedly, hoping he would catch on to what she was saying. As much as she wanted to be with Teddy, it couldn't be this way.
