Seventh Years, Lesson Five

"Morning Seventh Years!" Misha greeted with his usual bright smile. He realised that this would be the second last time he would teach them, and while maybe it could be an almost sentimental thing, for him, it wasn't. He had only known these students less than a year. No connection. Despite this, he still smiled fondly at these older students. "Today's lesson will be brief, but I assure you, it is worth it." Misha looked at his students. He flicked his wand and the room darkened. Little light shone in, but there was just enough to still be able to see. "What do you do when you're confronted with the darkest of the dark?" Misha asked the class, letting the question hang in the air. He flicked his wand again, and it lit up, Lumos, a simple spell that helped light up the room.

"What if Lumos is simply not enough? Many unlucky individuals have suffocated at the hand of the Lethifold. Others have suffered the Dementor's Kiss. All because they did not know how to protect themselves against the darkest of dark." Misha gave his students a little grin, "While this may be beginning to sound oddly like a Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, I can assure, what I'm about to show you, is a charm." Misha flicked his wand, and the light on it went out, he flicked it again, and the class fell ever darker. He was pretty excited, but managed to calm himself, to be able to speak the charm clearly, "Expecto Patronum"

All of a sudden a stream of silvery blue light flowed out his wand, within seconds materializing itself into the shape of an osprey, a large bird, with a wing span that seemed like it would've been bigger in a larger room. The patronus flew in the air, almost gliding through the air. Circling the students several times before disappearing, and plunging the room that had been solely lit by Misha's patronus once again went dark. With a flick of his wand, the usual light reentered the room. He was smiling at his students. "The Patronus Charm will repel Dementors and Lethifolds alike. It will take you all a great while to get the hang of it and may take even longer for it to get a shape, but I assure you, this charm is one that you should be happy to have in your arsenal. This charm is very much happiness in essence. With that in mind, your homework for next week is to think of a memory that makes you happy so happy that if it were real it could light up a dark room."

RP the lesson. Attendane post is fine.

Minnie was working very hard, she was up early, and to bed late, as she continued to revise and study. It was basically taking up all of her time, but she knew that now wasn’t the time to be slacking off. If she could be doing more work, Minnie almost certainly would be. She just had to keep at it and keep working and she knew this. The ravenclaw was pretty tired, of course with all the work she was doing her sleep was suffering a little but she knew that it would be a small price to pay as she worked and got closer and closer to her exams. She wouldn’t need to do this forever, she would do her exams and then be able to relax and sleep but until then, she wasn’t going to be doing much else besides study. The ravenclaw had to take a pause in her studies to be able to go to class, and she was very keen to do so, she didn’t figure they’d be learning much new given how little time there was till the end of term, but she knew no matter what they were to cover, she’d not exactly be adding a whole lot. She grabbed the last few things she would need and headed out the door.

Minnie walked into the charms classroom and took her spot, by her own records there was only one thing left for them to cover. She took out her books, notes and her wand and placed them down in front of her. She hoped they’d get to doing the spell, but as the professor got started it became very clear that they wouldn’t be. The teen was therefore a little disappointed when it became clear in the professor’s lecture that they would be spending the time in this lesson just doing some theory on it. Minnie did make sure to write down what was being said and then packed up and left the room, already thinking about which of her happiest memories she could use.

Hattie was so very close to the end of her schooling. She just wanted to do the best that she could so that she had everything to look forward to in the future. She entered the charms classroom and listened as the professor began the lesson. It definitely was starting to sound like a defence against the dark arts class, but the professor quickly assured the class that the spell they were going to be learning was in fact a protective charm. Hattie watched with astonishment as the professor produced a corporeal patronus from his wand. It took the form of a rather large bird and Hattie suddenly became curious as to what her one would be. She hoped it would be something mystical and interesting. Soon enough, the lesson came to an end and Hattie left the classroom still thinking about what sort of animals her patronus could be.

The second semester of the final year was going by quickly, which was a bit alarming. The NEWT exams seemed more intimidating than ever, and Aisa often found herself wondering what she would do if she didn't get the required grades for her dream job. She was spending a lot of her time studying, most of it on her own. But she still didn't feel entirely confident about the NEWTs.

The Gryffindor made her way to the Charms classroom and took her usual seat. The professor told them it would be a brief lesson, which would be good. Aisa listened as one of her classmates answered the professor's question, but her interest piqued when the professor talked about dementors and lethifold. She suddenly knew where this was going, and watched in amazement as the professor actually summoned a patronus in the class. She followed its movements with wide eyes, watching the bird fly through the classroom. Immediately, Aisa wanted to try it herself. Instead, she had to listen to a brief lecture on the spell. It was interesting, but not really what she wanted to do. But she was hopeful they would try the spell next week.

Sully was starting to run out steam as the semester came closer and closer to ending. He was running out of things to look forward to and NEWTs were starting to get a bit scary with their closeness. At least Charms still came easy and the classes were fun, so Sully didn't even mind Professor Haden's cheery attitude as he started class for the day, even if Sully himself was slouched over his desk. They were apparently just doing theory today, but the patronus charm was a spell Sully had been curious about for ages. Not only was it a cool spell in itself, but Sully had always wondered what his would look like. It sucked they only got to see Professor Haden's patronus today instead of practicing their own, but that was still an awesome experience as the silvery bird light up the room. "Mean," Sully said under his breath as the bird glided around the room before dissipating. For once, Sully was actually looking forward to his homework as they packed up for the day.
