Closed Seeing You Again

After the Valentine's Day Dance, Patrick was excited to see Winnie again. She seemed like a nice person and Patrick liked the idea of having a new friend. It was good to know that he was liked by someone, especially Winnie who was eager to get to know Patrick more, just as he was eager to get to know her. The pair of them had spoken a lot at the dance, mostly about themselves. Patrick had told her about his position in Quidditch and his fear of animals. He hadn't spoken so much of himself before. It was weird that he was already so comfortable with her, and they had only just met on Valentine's Day. The Hufflepuff asked Winnie to meet him in the student lounge where they could hopefully talk more. The night did not seem to be long enough and Patrick mostly wanted company more than anything to distract him from all of his classes. He arrived there a little bit earlier than what they had planned, taking one of his favourite books with him to show her. It was a muggle children's book that his mother used to read to him and it had a cat in it, which Patrick knew she liked after she told him about her cat named Toto. He sat himself in an armchair, nervously looking around the empty room. He wasn't sure why, but social interaction always made him nervous. Winnie was such a nice person and Patrick did not want to mess anything up by embarrassing himself, so he tried to seem casual as he waited for her.

Winnie still couldn't believe the success that was her valentines day. She had not only been on her first date to a dance with a boy, but the night had been fun and they parted ways to meet up again with the promise of more. Be it simply getting to know each other better or a real second date wasn't a concern for her, because all she wanted was to make the most of the time she did spend with Patrick to see where it would go. Nevertheless she did feel as if she were writing a fairy tale for herself, an unexpected and unplanned story for the ages that wouldn't have become a reality if she chose not to ask Patrick to the dance on a whim the way she did. Making choices for herself and taking action on them wasn't a habit of Winnie's, though she was realizing forging her own destiny was far more worthwhile than sitting on the sidelines, and the last thing she wanted was to ruin it. She was in her uniform as arrived to the student lounge, much to her dismay as she would have wanted to wear a special outfit, but she had made some effort in styling her hair down, feeling excited to see Patrick again, and hoping this was enough to impress him. She smiled as she approached the armchair where he was sitting. "Hey!" She greeted happily, sitting herself on a nearby sofa. "How are you? It's great we're able to talk again." Winnie added, hoping this next meeting with Patrick would go as perfectly as she wanted it to.​

As someone entered the student lounge, Patrick sat up straighter in the armchair, beaming when he noticed that it was Winnie. He noticed she had done something different with her hair but didn't want to mention it in case it wasn't different at all. After all, they had only seen each other twice before and maybe she always liked to do something different with it. He watched as she sat on a sofa nearby. "Hello Winnie." He smiled. "I'm good! It was a good night. Thank you for asking me to go with you." he told her, referring to the Valentine's Dance. He blushed slightly thinking about it. Usually it was the boy who asked the girl out but he was genuinley thankful that Winnie asked him instead as he would have never been able to do it himself. "What about you? How are you?" he asked, happy to just catch up with her. It was definitely different to the night they spent together as they were more alone and this meant the pair of them could get to know each other a little bit more.
