Shane hadn’t planned to go to the halloween celebration but this was his first in this school and they hadn’t really done much in his last so why wouldn’t he take the opportunity to do something with it. He had put together a pretty terrible costume but it didn’t matter much he would just go along and have fun with it. He wouldn’t need to wear much for his first he could pretend that his last school had had lots of little events rather than none at all or rather than a big one like this school. The hufflepuff ran a hand through his hair as he stepped into the great hall, he hadn’t made friends in the same way that he had imagined he might, but this place was still better, it was more relaxed, calmer and overall just better. It was the better place and even just a few months in he knew it was better, but starting from scratch wasn’t particularly easy and though he hadn’t been popular or well liked in his last school he had at the very least had a few people who talked to him, which was more than here. The Hufflepuff stood awkwardly at the edge of the hall, trying to figure out whether to stay or go or even where to go next.
