Quidditch Game: Gryffindor vs Slytherin

The anticipation for this first game of the season had placed Reeve thirty minutes ahead of schedule to arrive to the castle. He was always excited to see how the season would kick off, which teams would have a strong start, and which would steadily improve as the season progressed. Reeve finished breakfast before beginning to unpack the shed, removing some school brooms for any players who might need them. He then summoned the game trunk, undoing its lock so it could be ready. As he worked, the stands filled, the volume increasing as students readied themselves for what everyone hoped would be an exciting game.

[Eleanor Kingsley]

Eleanor arrived to the pitch already dressed in her Slytherin robes. They had won the House Cup last year, and she wanted to repeat that victory. She handed the lineup to the referee before joining her team by the bench to prepare for the game.

[Nikko Blackwood]

Nikko was nervous. Very, very nervous. But he tried his best not to show it as he handed the line up to Reeve and turned to face his team. It wasn't so much that he minded that they were playing first, it was that their first game was against Slytherin. After winning the quidditch cup last year he knew the would be tough. "Alright everyone." he said seriously as he tried to keep up his brave face. "We've practice hard to get where we are today and we're going to put all that work to good use and give it our all!" Nikko finished his short speech enthusiastically and hoped that no matter what happened they could all be proud of how they played today.

[Indira Khatri]

Indi was itching to get this season started. They had a title to uphold and she was ready to do her part. The beaters had done a number on the team during practice and she hoped they'd keep it up for the actual game. She stood with the rest of the team as they waited for the game to start and was unimpressed by Eleanor's lack encouragement for the team. But she shrugged it off and figured if they needed silly speeches they wouldn't be champions.

 

[Celia Vuong]

Although Slytherin had gone undefeated last year, Celia had not been happy with her own performance. She'd made a string of embarrassing mistakes that had gotten worse with each successive game, culminating in a hospital visit. This year would be different. It had to be different. Celia had put in extra hours on the pitch in an effort to minimize the chances that last year's events would repeat themselves.

Celia was glad their first game was against Gryffindor. Last year, she had failed to hit Flynn a single time, and she was determined to redeem herself this year by sending him to the hospital wing. Hopefully that task would be easier now that Lysander and Emma were no longer around to defend him. As Celia waited for Reeve's signal, she kept an eye on the bludgers, ready to shoot after them as soon as the game started.

 

[Liusaidh Fergusson]

Liusaidh arrived at the pitch and glanced at her team. "Right, Gryffindor have a young and fresh team, we don't, let's see if we can't make them cry," Liusaidh knew she was never ever going to give speeches like Blake had, but she didn't need to, she got to the point, even if they didn't win, she was sure they could make them cry.

 

[Seamus Reid]

Seamus was always a little disappointed to have to sit on the bench, but he hopeful that Slytherin would win.

 

[Aurora Archer]

Aurora was very very nervous about this game, she'd only been on the team a little while and she was already playing a game. Her broom was tight in her hand and her beater bat felt heavy, but she could do this, she had wanted this.

 

[Natalia Novak]

It wasn't a big surprise to be on the bench again, but it was a little disappointing. Natalia sighed softly as she watied for the match to begin.

 

[Reeve Buchanan]

Reeve took a look at the parchments and reviewed them. All seemed to be in order and he placed them into his pocket before using his wand to cast the sonorous charm. " Welcome all to the first game of the season!" his voice boomed into the crowd. "Slytherin, today you will be Keeping the Northern hoops. Gryffindor, the South. Play hard. Play fair. Let's get up in the air!"

Reeve opened the game chest and released the snitch and bludgers. They sped off into the air, just as eager to begin. Reeve reached for the quaffle and then headed for his broom. When he was high enough, he tossed the quaffle into the air. "Game on!" he announced.

[Louis Alcott]

Louis knew this was his moment to shine. The moment the game began, he shot forward to grab the quaffle. He grinned as he managed it, flying off with it quickly.

 

[Flynn North]

Flynn didn't say a word as he swung a leg over his broom, quickly quicking off and setting off for the snitch. He was not going to lose to Slytherin. Not again.

 

[Eleanor Kingsley]

Eleanor took to the air as the whistle blew. Gryffindor managed to get the Quaffle first. She followed closely behind the chaser as she looked for an opportunity to steal.

 

[Lucie Vernier]

Lucie was determined to win this game. When the referee blew the whistle she kept focused on the Gryffindor with the quaffle, ready to block his shot.

 

[Zephryn Spencer]

Zee was excited for a chance to prove herself, even if practice had not gone exactly as planned. She arrived on the quidditch pitch. It didn’t take long for the game to begin. She swung her leg over her broom and shot up into the air. To her surprise that other chaser grabbed the quaffle first. With a determined look, she flew in his direction in case he needed any help.

 

[Ares Kuya-Tine]

Ares wanted to make Jordie proud this game and prove that he was a good beater. He set into the sky as the game started, looking for bludgers to hit towards Gryffindor's seeker.

 

[Louis Alcott]

Louis saw Zephryn was following him, but there was no way he was sharing the glory with her. He felt everyone's eyes on him as he zoomed towards the hoops. He could do this. As he approached, he decided to aim for the middle hoop. Unfortunately, the keeper could predict him easily and blocked his shot. Louis cursed in French, this wasn't how it was supposed to go.

 

[Flynn North]

There was no sign of the snitch early on, but Flynn was determined as he kept looking.

 

[Liusaidh Fergusson]

Liusaidh was very very glad when the gryffindor failed to score, and grabbed the ball after it was thrown back out by Lucie.

 

[Aurora Archer]

Aurora was up in the air and began trying to hit a bludger but swung wildly and missed the first she was aiming for.

 

[Celia Vuong]

Celia smirked at Liusaidh's "speech" and immediately took off at Reeve's signal. She headed straight for the bludger and tried to send it towards Flynn. It overshot the seeker and slammed into @Soren Gates. Hitting a chaser wasn't exactly helpful, but a hit against Gryffindor was a hit against Gryffindor. She didn't bother giving the boy a second glance before looking for the other bludger.

 

[Zephryn Spencer]

Zee watched as Louis missed the shot. He did not seem like the passing type. It was still early in the game though. She flew after the Slytherin with the quaffle hoping for a chance to steal. She was so focused on the chase that she could only flash Soren a slight pity glance as he was hit by the bludger.

 

[Flynn North]

Swerving around a couple of other players, there was still no sign of the snitch.

 

[Ivelisse Burleigh]

Ive looked for the snitch.

 

[Isaiah Thompson]

Isaiah tried to whack a bludger towards the slytherin seeker but his aim was off and it sailed for @Indira Khatri instead.
