Quidditch Game: Gryffindor vs Slytherin

Gryffindor,Slytherin
It was a breezy day, and he knew that would make for some interesting conditions for the players. Reeve was just putting the finishing touches on his preparations for the championship game as the stands filled up behind him. Letting the game chest land with a thud at his feet, Reeve was done and only had to wait for the captains so he could review their lineups and begin the game. Today, was sure to be an exciting game, and he couldn't wait for it to begin.

[Solomon Tofilau]

Sully was psyched for today's match. It wasn't the first time they'd faced down Slytherin in the finals, but he was sure today would finally be when they actually won it. In good spirits, Sully made a show of stretching and warming up as everyone got ready, grinning as the noise in the stands started to grow as the rest of the school began to arrive. "Hey, kiss for good luck?" He asked Chloë with a grin when she joined him out on the pitch, wiggling his eyebrows.

 

[Daintree Vaskevold]

Daintree was ready for this match, grateful for the distraction from awful OWLs. He had his broom in one hand and the beater bat in the other ready to just get started on this game.

 

[Liusaidh Fergusson]

Liusaidh walked on to the pitch and was excited for it. She hoped that perhaps she might just get an opportunity to play. She resisted the urge to demand it, but was pretty close to demanding it any way. She waited for the captain to do his little speech and was hopeful they'd then just get to it!

 

[Emma van Houten]

Emma was excited about the match, and she was jumping up and down as she stood with her team on the pitch. Lysander was now their only captain, which was a little wild. He was only her age, but already he was in charge of the whole team. Emma heard Sully ask Chloe for a kiss, and she made a retching face. "Ew!" She said, mostly as a joke. But it did make her happy she no longer liked Sully, who knew he was so sappy?

 

[Jasper Night]

Jasper was nervous about today, more than he normally was for a game. This was their chance to keep their streak going, a streak that might go down in Hogwarts history if they could keep it going a bit longer. He could only imagine how much pressure there was on Blake, as both the captain and their seeker. The one thing they had going for them was how Blake had more experience as a seeker than the boy on the Gryffindor team. Jasper wondered why Sierra had stopped, and suddenly felt a little bad for not asking her. But... this wasn't the time for that. They had a match to win.

 

[Lysander Summers]

Lysander put on a brave face as he trod onto the pitch. This match meant a lot to him, another chance to finally try and take down Slytherin. It was daunting without Sierra. With her around, he'd felt more confident in their chances this year. Even with all of their practice after she'd left, he still wasn't so sure. It was a lot for a first-time seeker like Flynn. They'd gotten this far, and he was proud of that, but he still wanted to go even further. This was meant to be their year.

The wind did nothing to lessen the stresses of winning, and Lysander had to be grateful his hair was short enough to keep it from getting in his way. "Save it for when we win." Lysander laughed as he passed Solomon, heading to Reeve to hand in his line-up.​

[Flynn North]

Flynn felt as though he was about to be sick. He had been dreading this from the moment he had learned Sierra had left the team. How could he possibly have any hope of catching the snitch before the older and much more experienced Slytherin seeker? But he was tyring to think positive as he stood there on the pitch, even if all the colour had drained from his face and he looked as though he was about to collapse at any moment.

 

[Noel Waldgrave]

Noel made his way to the pitch. He was nervous but also excited at the same time. He wanted to do good and better he wanted Gryffindor to be good. And finally defeat Slytherin. He went standing with Chloe and Sully and smiled when he heard what Sully said. He just knew it hundred procent now that Sully liked her. And he rooted for them. “ Go for it Chloe!?” He said with an grin cheering for his friend. He took his broom and smiled. “ But I hope Sully can focus on the game after.” He said teasing and clapped his friend on the shoulder.

[Chloe Thompson]

Chloë was excited for today's match, although she couldn't help but to be slightly nervous as well. Not so much for herself as for their seeker, especially after the conversation she had with him after practice a while ago. She happily joined her team on the pitch though, scanning the other side to see if she could spot her cousin in between her teammates. At least this time they'd go into the match as better friends than last year. Chloë laughed and shook her head at their teammates' responses to Sully's remark, almost tempted to do it after Emma's response and not at all surprised that Noel would be cheering them on. "Sorry, captain's orders." She put her hands up in defeat when Lysander passed them. "Plus Noel's right, we need you focussed." She joked, nudging Sully before giving him a quick peck on the cheek. Even if the whole team got along and most of them were her friends she still felt like they needed some sort of professionalism, like she couldn't just go about kissing him right there and then. Especially not when they had start focussing on the game ahead.

 

[Christian Cade]

Christian was pretty much counting the days until the year was over and the end of the Quidditch season was one step closer to that. After changing into his robes he made his way out onto the pitch with his broom in hand, ready for the game.

 

[Mordred Cavanaugh]

Mordred was anxious about today's game. He hoped they would still be able to keep their streak despite crappy practices. He stood with his team, and for once hoped Blake had something captain-like to say.

 

[Blake Irons]

Blake was anxious about today in a way he had never been anxious about a match before. His team just hadn't been performing the way he had hoped in practice, and for the first time since taking his place as seeker, Blake was concerned that Slytherin would lose the championship. But he would be lying if he said that was the only cause for his nerves. His situation with Lars wouldn't leave his mind, no matter how much he tried to focus on the match. He knew there was a choice coming, knew that like it or not he couldn't hide forever. Even focusing on Quidditch wasn't enough to stop his thoughts wandering anymore, dread hanging low in his stomach at the thought of the future.

He was determined not to let it show though, face a stone wall of determination as he handed in their lineup and returned to speak to the team. "Alright guys, this is it." He said firmly, looking over his teammates faces. "In the end, nothing matters but today. You were sick for practice? You fumbled during the last match? Forget it. Everything rides on this. I want absolutely nothing but your best. Whether it's your first year on the team or your sixth, Slytherin are a team of champions, and that's a legacy we all carry on our shoulders. It's our jobs to be strong enough to bear it. Quidditch legends have been born on this team, players like Odette Madison, Rory Fergusson, Liam Waldgrave, Asaiah Murphy... they wore the same robes you wear, they played on this same pitch, and it's what made them champions, it's what started them on the journey to become the legends we know today. If you've ever been to a professional match, chances are you've seen a former Slytherin player. We're standing on the shoulders of giants, and if we ever want to grow to match them, we have to work as hard as they did, and give everything on the pitch. No holding back, no excuses. Do it for the champions who came before us. Do it for the kids in the stands cheering you on, wishing they could walk in your shoes. And do it for yourselves, make this a match you can look back on years from now with pride, as part of your own Hogwarts legacy. Slytherin on 3!" He put his hand into the middle of the group, waiting for his teammates to add their own before starting a count. "One, two, three, SLYTHERIN!" Blake shouted, with all the energy he could muster and then some. His advice was as much for himself as the rest of the team. He couldn't lose. Everything rested on today.

[Reeve Buchanan]

Reeve didn't have to wait long before the captains were before him with their lineup cards. He tookhis time reviewing each one and then gave the captains a nod. "Gryffindor you'll be guarding the South hoops today. The North hoops will be guarded by Slytherin. I'll be expecting a clean game today." The man continued to speak with the captain about some rules and then sent them back to their teams.

Listening to the speeches as he turned to the game chest, the man pushed it open and then released the bludgers and snitch. The three balls zoomed off into the sky. Reeve tucked the quaffle under his arm and flew up into the air. Tossing the quaffle up high, he declared "Game on!"

[Jasper Night]

Once Jasper heard the game start, he flew over to the quafle and grinned when he managed to catch it. He zoomed off with it, heading to the south hoops.

 

[Blake Irons]

Blake was braced for action, and the moment he heard the referee's whistle he kicked off high into the air, beginning a lap of the pitch looking for any sign of the golden snitch. The sooner he could catch it and Slytherin could take their rightful place as champions, the better.

 

[Emma van Houten]

Emma didn't pay attention to what anyone else was doing, the only person she was focusing on was the Slytherin seeker. It helped her feel a little less bad to remember how he'd been a jerk to Lars, as she aimed a bludger at him and hit it. It made contact, and Emma grinned. A good start for Gryffindor.

[Flynn North]

Flynn tried to shake off the nerves as he finally hopped on his broom and set off. All he had to do was focus. Just catch the snitch first before the other seeker. No biggie. Right?

 

[Lysander Summers]

Lysander, annoyed that he hadn't prepared his own speech, kicked off as the whistle blew to hunt a bludger, grinning when he noted Emma already way ahead of him with a strike against Slytherin seeker. He raised his bat to attempt the same, and watched it sail wide with an annoyed frown.

 

[Chloe Thompson]

Chloë pushed off into the air when the game was started, chasing straight after the slytherin chaser who caught the quaffle.

 

[Daintree Vaskevold]

Daintree gripped his beater bat tighter and shot up into the air and began to search for a bludger to hit at the seeker. He didn't want to waste any time.

 

[Liusaidh Fergusson]

Liusaidh rolled her eyes at the captain's speech and even boo'ed a little at her brother's name but she couldn't deny there was a little truth in the fact she knew her brother was good. She was pleased however that she was actually getting to play. She shot up into the air and then followed behind the chaser who had the ball.

 

[Jasper Night]

Jasper noticed the other chasers following him but kept his eye in the hoops. Then, with a grin, he managed to score.

 

[Blake Irons]

Blake was so focused on his search for the snitch that he didn't focus fully on the action around him. He liked to think his situational awareness of bludgers had gotten better over the years, but it was always hard to be vigilant early in the match. So he was caught entirely off guard when a ball slammed into his thigh, leaving what would no doubt be a searing bruise. He grunted loudly in frustration, gripping his broom tightly as he flew on and kept searching, hoping the snitch would turn up quickly.

 

[Flynn North]

Flynn was desperate to find the snitch first as he continued to fly around looking for it.
