Gabriella decided it would be good to be prepared for her next year. Her grades were terrible again and the blonde didn't dared to look at her father. She had been given a sermon from them, but this was her chance to really prove herself. She felt the pressure more than ever. And perhaps hanging out with her friends was really a distraction, like her father said. Since she started hanging out with Marcos and Heather her grades were nothing but bad. But Gabriella just liked hanging out with them, they made her feel good. A feeling she never had before, like she really could be herself. But the blonde knew that she had to do better, and so she would early go to Obsidian Harbour to buy the books and stuff for the next schoolyear. The previous year went really fast and Gabriella knew she had to prove herself in classes. When she would have all her stuff she would study all day until she was satisfied. And that was hard for Gabriella since she was a true perfectionist, so the only person she let down was herself she felt. When the blonde walked down the streets she looked out for the shops she wanted to go. It was crowdy and she figured she wasn't the only student to be here.

Marcos had been getting his school supplies, moving about the different stores to pick up the different things he would need for the upcoming year. He was looking forward to it, he liked a lot of the aspects of the classes he was taking and he wasn't doing overly well in them but well enough that he was rather proud of himself. The boy was wandering down the street making his way through the larger crowd. He spotted a girl with familiar blonde hair, "Gabriella!" he called out cheerfully, waving at her as he jogged over to join her, "You doing your shopping too?" he asked as he got close enough that she'd likely hear him. He had not spent nearly enough time with her as he had wanted to during the last year but he was more than determined to this year. he really liked Gabriella, she was a lovely person to be around, he always found her easy to talk to and he also really liked her cousin with whom he shared a dorm, and he certainly spent more than enough time with him, so it was good to spent a little more time with her. Someone he also certainly enjoyed the company of.

Heather's mother was busy so she had given her daughter money and permission to look around Obsidian. The Danvilles were in New Zealand to prepare for Heather's second year but as the rest of her family lived here, her mother had many engagements that she would have to attend. She was lucky that her mother was so understanding and let Heather miss the trivial family meet ups. Heather picked up her oversized white shirt and paired it with her blue jeans and set off for Obsidian Harbour.

Heather wasn't headed into any shop in particular, she wanted to go into Gladrag's the most but she knew that she would have to get the books for her third year classes first - they were the most important thing. She sighed and walked down the street towards Flourish and Blotts. She was about to walk into the bookshop when she saw a flash of blonde hair, she walked a little closer and she realised that it was her best friend Gabriella. "Gabriella! Hi!" she called to her fellow Slytherin as she quickly walked in her direction. "How are you?" she asked, pulling her best friend into a hug. Heather hadn't realised that Gabriella was already speaking to a boy who was in their year but in Gryffindor. She couldn't remember ever having a proper conversation with the boy but he seemed nice enough.

Gabriella was on her own like mostly. Her father was always busy with his work and he wasn't the familyman like most dad's. But Gabriella didn't complained. Her mother had to work also today so she went alone. Gabriella was kind of used to that, so she didn't mind. Next year her sister would join Hogwarts too, but she and Lauren were way different. She didn't had the best relationship with her sister, but it was fine to have a sibling around the school. As long as she didn't made a fool out of herself and her. When the blonde wanted to enter the shop she heard someone calling her. The blonde frowned for a moment and didn't thought she would run into someone. When she turned around she saw Marcos, he was a bit far away but came at her. When she saw Marcos the blonde smiled. It was always nice to see him, but she figured he could not be a distraction this year. This year was a year to prove herself really hard. '' Hi Marcos.'' the blonde said friendly. She looked around the street, just like her father could be here any minute. But that wasn't possible. If her father was here right now he would give Marcos a look that he would not forget easily in a bad way. '' Yes I am. Needed to buy some books yet. So I can study. Have to get better grades this year. So.. can't be distracted with much.'' Gabriella looked at the ground for a moment. Perhaps this wasn't really nice, but perhaps Marcos didn't understand the hint. But she would be a lot less happy if her father would forbid her to make friends. He thought friends were useless. At least not for the reasons why you should make friends. Her father had some powerfull friends, but he didn't liked them he just faked to like them for his own benefits. And that was a smart move the blonde thought. Or at least she had learned that. When the blonde heard another voice, she figured it had to be Heather. It could be one of her cousins, but she was not enjoying talking to them. And when she saw Heather appearing she was right. Heather was her best friend and she liked her very much, but her father would not agree with this too. '' Hi Heather.'' Gabriella than said to the girl. She didn't knew if Marcos and her already had met but she had spoken of Marcos sometimes with her, so if she mentioned his name she would know for sure. '' I'm fine. Trying to buy my stuff for the next year. It's going so fast. And I really should study harder.'' Gabriella said with some pressure inside of her voice. She felt the time ticking away and if she wouldn't score good grades her father and mother would not even let her do other stuff than school.
