It had been a long time since Alana had come to this spot. She'd given up her visits after quidditch games to update the former Slytherin Seeker who had died far too soon. It was odd being here now. She was the same age he'd been, slightly older even, but even though he'd been older than her, Alana had never really felt that he was. Avie had always felt so young. Settling down, Alana brushed some dirt off the plaque and then gave it a tap.

"Hey Avie. Sorry I haven't come around much. Life's been..." she sighed heavily, "complicated. We did win the last game of the season but not the cup. It was weird. I think the team's in good hands though. Charlotte is a good captain" she explained to the small memorial for the boy. Caring less about what someone would think if they came across her doing this, talking to a rock, Alana continued. "I'm Head Girl now, and I've got to write this stupid speech for graduation, but I don't know what to say." Alana sighed again, her feet out in front of her, the notebook she'd brought along on her lap.

Felix didn't spend a lot of time at Avie's memorial by the lake, he hadn't known the boy personally so it felt wrong to mourn him for any longer than the school on mass. He did however make the occasional visit, it was peaceful and not somewhere people came to socialise so there was almost guaranteed silence. Felix felt he had to pay one last visit before graduation, it was the perfect place to collect his thoughts before the final weeks of the semester which would be frantic and stressful.

As it happened, on that occasion Felix would not be alone. He spotted Alana at the memorial when he arrived. That made sense, Avie had been on the Slytherin team with Alana so they would have known each other. "One last visit before graduation?" Felix asked as he took a seat next to her.

Alana turned her head, an easy smile on her face as she recognized the voice. She hadn't known that Felix frequented this area at all, but it didn't surprise her that he did. He was one of the good guys and visiting the memorial of someone he'd known at school sounded like something he'd do. "Yea. It's been a while since I was here last, so it was well past time" she explained and then nodded her head to the smooth white rock she'd placed on the memorial after she'd dusted it off. She'd been feeling particularly grumpy one afternoon and had stumbled upon the rock.

"And I thought I'd maybe find some inspiration for my speech" she admitted. Alana had been meaning to ask Felix how he was getting along on his all week but had been so busy that she hadn't had the opportunity. Being Head Girl had been way more than she'd bargained. "What brings you here?" she asked.

Felix smiled at Alana, he knew she had been friends with Avie so being at his memorial must have been hard for her, but it must have been even harder that she was graduating and would no longer be able to pay respects to him. "It must be hard for you knowing you won't be able to come back here," He said softly. Felix took a seat next to Alana and looked out at the lake. He laughed at the mention of her speech, his own was done. "My speech is done, I'm here for inspiration of a different kind," He began, building up to telling her his big news. Felix hadn't told anyone what he planned for Lydia, telling someone would make it real. "I'm planning on proposing to Lydia, before graduation," Felix knew Alana didn't like Lydia, though he never knew why and had never felt like asking. "I just wanted someone to know,"

Alana shrugged her shoulders, not wanting to verbally admit that the thought made her sad but also not denying it. Alana and Avie hadn't even been friends. They'd played together and were housemates, but there was never a time they sought each other out for conversation. It just made Alana said that his life had been taken from him so soon, and with her own life on the line, she felt a sort of kinship to the guy.

"Of course it is" she smirked, not surprised at all that Felix was done with his speech. She glanced his way, wondering what he needed inspiration for then. A look of amusement was on her face, her red eyes narrowed slightly as she waited. The news didn't disappoint. Alana's eyes widened and she sat up more, her finger drifting towards where her ring would be if she wore it every day. "Merlin, Felix. WOW" she said, clearly shocked. Alana knew they'd been together for a long time, but marriage was a huge step. She knew she didn't have any room to judge though, not when she'd been engaged practically since she became a student. "That is not what I was expecting to hear. Congratulations" she finally added.
