Classes were the bane of Winnie's existence, and this hadn't changed during the current semester which was meant to be her 'new beginning'. It seemed no matter how hard she tried to understand what she was supposed to be learning she just didn't get it, and her attempts to study alone had been futile. She was at the end of her wits, reaching the middle of the semester and having nothing to show for it and likely another set of poor grades to show her parents when she returned home. In what felt like a last ditch effort to change this, Winnie headed from her house's common room to the student lounge, thinking a change of environment might help her study and that being away from Ravenclaw tower would keep her from feeling ashamed to be part of a house full of academics when she couldn't even understand lessons in her second year. Luckily the lounge wasn't too occupied when Winnie arrived, allowing her to quickly find a table in the back corner of the room. After placing her things down Winnie sat at one of the chairs and began reading, trying to make sense of the words in her text book for what felt like the millionth time. She hoped this would be the day the penny would drop and that she would leave the lounge finally understanding something.

Stefan Kyle was a little more shocked that his sister, Camelia, was dating her ex-fiance instead of Braxton. Stefan liked Braxton. Sione hated the boy, but that was different. Stefan wasn't a fan of Octavian though, while Sione hated him too. Cristian seemed to be the only sibling all for it, while Natia seemed to be basking in some sort of sneaky glory. Stefan didn't know or care what was going on since he was so focused on his own studies. That was why he made his way into the student lounge. He looked around to see that it was relatively empty, and he could sit anywhere he wanted. Stefan's eyes landed on a girl in the corner, in his year. He recognized her as Winnie Marsh. He had his marine studies book with him. He sat down on an armchair. He opened it and started to read some of the marine animals that he loved to study, and some interesting things about the ocean. Since Winnie seemed to be busy, Stefan decided to keep to himself for right now, since he wanted to study and read.
