New Year had gone by in the last 30 mins in the country of United Kingdom. The fireworks had started long ago and yet, Ainslee was still sitting in their dinner table. Staring at the text message she had received from her husband. It had been 45 mins since she read the message and yet she was still staring at it. It was that one time that they could be together, Arnaud confirmed he was going to be home for New Years Eve weeks ago and yet, it was a lie she had been waiting for.

Ainslee stood from her chair and looked around the house they bought. Her facial expression was nothing but remorse. The woman went out of the door, leaving the house empty. The rain pour like it will never stop and yet, she wanted to walk around London. The cold and wetness didn't bothered Ainslee as she continued to walk, she didn't stop. Only until she was familiar with the road and street names that she stopped and then walked up to a home. Ainslee knocked three times on the door and waited for this familiar face to come up.

Typically new year was a family occasion and any other year Lancelot would be with them to see in the new year, but this time he hadn't been feeling it. It might have been something to do with his complicated relationship with Ainslee Cormac, who was spending the evening with her husband, that had left him in some less than a celebratory mood. He had decided to pick up an extra shift at the obliviators office. It could be a busy night for them, wizards tended to go overboard with new year celebrations and do somethings that couldn't be explained away as 'elaborate fireworks'. Thankfully, Lancelot's shift came to an end without any major incidents, but he wouldn't be seeing in the stoke of midnight, all the fun antics would be left for the poor guy who had revealed him.

Lancelot was barely home when the clock struck midnight and mad celebrations hit out all over London, muggle and magical alike, the city was having a good time. Everyone but him it seemed. After necking his second glass of firewhiskey, Lancelot was about to turn in for the night when he heard a knock at the door. It was half past twelve, who would possibly be at his door. Lancelot walked over to his front door and pulled it open, having left his wand in the kitchen, to reveal the figure of Ainslee Cormac, possibly the last person he'd been expecting to be stood there. "Ainslee I..." Lancelot was confused at the woman's presence. He thought she'd be with her husband or family at least. "What are you doing here?"
