Mazikeen was enjoying the semester so far. She was keeping herself active and not losing track of her own studies, she knew that even in this first semester it would be important for her to be revising and working. But it did mean that she was dedicating a little more time to her studies than she had ever before. For better or for worse. It was keeping her active but she was a little frustrated with it too. Studying would be good to help her achieve her goals in life but she couldn’t help but feel frustrated by them too. Mazikeen was feeling that frustration a little keenly that day, she had patrolling later which meant she couldn’t relax all that much, but she didn’t particularly want to do anything too busy when she’d have to do something that important later. She had her books under her arm as she walked through the library, she didn’t really want to study but it seemed that it would be the best use of her time so that’s what she would do. Mazikeen was struggling to find a spot in the library and said to herself if she didn’t find one, she’d just go do something else. Use it as an opportunity to go do something far more exciting. As it turned out, she did finally find a spot and also noted that it was next to a girl from her year. Without any other places to sit she decided to try her luck. The girl was a slytherin, so maybe she’d say no. ”Hey, Anastasie right? Would you mind?” mazikeen asked gesturing to the seat at the table with the girl. They’d been in classes together for a good while, but Mazikeen couldn’t remember if she’d ever spoken to her before now. At least spoken to her properly.

Anastasie was glad to be finally back at Hogwarts and doing some assignments. She had been getting a lot of them lately due to the fact it was her OWL year and she was thoroughly enjoying it. It was definitely a distraction for her and she always made sure to do them as soon as she received them so she didn't have to stress about them later. She had already completed and was up to date with all of her assignments, and so was just left writing notes for each subject. She sat at one of the tables in the library, her textbooks scattered all over it as she scribbled away on a piece of parchment. Time always flew when she had the opportunity to study and she liked it that way. The Slytherin soon became distracted however as a Gryffindor girl, whom she recognised as Mazikeen from her classes, approached her and asked if she could sit down at the table. When Ana first came to the library that morning there were plenty of spare tables, but looking around she noticed this was no longer the case. She looked at the girl and pursed her lips before speaking. "Yeah, Anastasie. You're Mazikeen aren't you? I suppose you can sit down." she muttered, clearing some space on the table so she could so do. She knew from class that Mazikeen wasn't going to cause any trouble and so trusted that she would still be able to work with Mazikeen's company.

Mazikeen tried to not look too disappointed at having to study, but she gave a thankful smile, ”I am yeah, you can just call me Maze,” Mazikeen told her with a little smile as she sat down and began placing a few books upon the table, ”This place is so busy today,” she told Anastasie, even though the other girl likely wouldn’t want Maze to be disturbing her studying, but Maze thought it would be a good idea to at least explain why she had opted to take a seat her. She took out her writing utensils and placed them down beside her books. Her gaze shifted to the books she had placed in front of her and opened up a few. Maze had been in a lot of classes with Anastasie but she hadn’t really ever spoken to her, they’d run in different circles here at school, likely unhelped by the fact that they were in different houses.
Mazikeen didn’t dislike the girl though, after all, they didn’t know each other and Anastasie had never given Mazikeen a reason to dislike her. She stole a glance at the girl and flashed a little smile. The problem now was, as she sat in front of her books that she didn’t really want to study, she hadn’t wanted to, but she found herself having to because she’d spotted a seat. Mazikeen decided that she would just have to, she reached into her bag and rummaged around in it for a moment before rolling her eyes a little at herself. She looked apologetically towards the other girl. ”I’m sorry Anastasie, I don’t mean to disturb you, but you wouldn’t happen to have a hair tie?” Maze’s hair wasn’t too long but it got into her face when she studied, so it was easier to have it tied up and out of the way.
