Really, Maddy should have done this much sooner, but everything had been so busy and so exciting this year. There was so much to show her little brother about Hogwarts that she hadn’t managed to find time to arrange this meeting. Getting Elliot and Lars together was easy enough; they seemed to be together most of the time these days, but organising a group of four people from three houses and two year groups was difficult even for an organised person, and Maddy was most decidedly not that.

But she had promised to introduce Sebastian to her friends, and she was pretty sure that out of all her friends, Elliot and Lars were the ones he would like best. The Gryff girls were awesome, of course, but she suspected they’d be a bit too bouncy for Seb. The same went for Jasper. But this was a perfect start, albeit one that she should have made much earlier. Seb seemed to be making a few of his own friends in the meantime, and she was proud of him for that; she’d have to meet them properly too, at some point.

Maddy led the way out onto the lawn, where she’d arranged to meet the boys, and quickly spotted them sitting on the grass. “Hey guys!” she said excitedly. “How are you doing? This is my little brother, Sebastian.”

Sebastian wasn’t sure whether to be excited or nervous about this. Both? Probably both. It had always been the way that his older siblings had made friends and then brought him into the group, and when they were little that had been great. Seb certainly wasn’t any good at meeting people on his own, and talking to them was terrifying. But Te Anau was a small town, and there hadn’t been all that many people to make friends with. Hogwarts was huge, and Sebastian knew that Maddy’s taste in friends was very different from his. He did want to be friends with her friends, just like the old days, but he’d kind of made a few of his own in the meantime, he hoped. And what he really wanted was to spend time with the Fletchers again, just like the old days . . . but he wasn’t going to think about that today. He hoped this would work out, he was sure these friends of Maddy’s were nice people. He feared it wouldn’t.

Seb followed his sister out onto the lawn, and over to the two boys, his nervousness growing as they approached. While Maddy introduced him, he waved awkwardly. She hadn’t thought to introduce them to him, apparently, but that was okay. “Hi.”

Stretching his legs out on the lawn, Elliot tried to keep an eye out for Maddy, mostly just enjoying the afternoon. It had been pleasant sitting with Lars as they waited, enjoying the breeze while Elliot picked a few daisies from the lawn to stick between Lars' fingers next to him. Elliot was pretty sure he'd seen Maddy's little brother around in the common room a few times, but it was nice to finally meet him, he'd remembered even back when he'd first met Maddy and she'd mentioned that he and Sebastian would probably get along.

He straightened up when Maddy approached, smiling at Maddy's enthusiastic greeting and giving Sebastian a little wave in return. "Hey, Maddy," He said, scooting over closer to Lars to make some room in case they wanted to sit down with them. "And hey Sebastian, I'm Elliot, I think I've seen you around Hufflepuff." He said, giving Sebastian an encouraging smile. It was interesting to see Maddy now with her brother, her easy personality compared to Sebastian's slightly more reserved one. But Sebastian's own nervousness was making Elliot feel a little more relaxed, hoping it would be easier to make Sebastian feel comfortable and like them.
