Gilly had found herself really enjoying certain aspects of magic, specifically any that were about duelling or creating things. She liked that aspect of magic, the fighting, the fun that could be had in using spells in a practical way, and Gilly was determined to create her own spells, though she knew that most of them would be impossible. From what she'd gathered there was a level of difficulty associated with creating spells and a level of dangerousness that she wasn't at all at the level to be able to do so. She found herself in the adandoned classroom with plenty of space to practice and tried out things she'd come up with. She started off by casting stupefy, since she wanted to just make sure that she could actually still do magic. The second step was trying to think of a spell she could try out. Spell incantations usually said what the spell was, so she just decided to try, "Boomeus," to make things explode, but of course nothing happened, she felt nothing and was bound to continue to feel nothing unless they were real spells, she was enjoying pretending to make up spells. There were a whole lot of things Gilly truly enjoyed about the magical world, but the most important bit, the magic itself was something she liked.

Now that she was a fourth year, Geo knew she would going to have to step up her academic game. She had known since she was a young child that she wanted to be an Auror when she graduated, and she didn't plan to let anything distract her from her plans. Over the holidays she'd taken up martial art lessons in an attempt to strengthen her skills and give her an edge, even if she were to come up against muggles one day. She wanted to be prepared for her future and now was nothing but the best time to do that.

The Hufflepuff felt as though she was finally making amends with her friends from the year previously, but that didn't mean she could let up on the amount of studying she had to do. Even though she took every class she could, Charms remained her favourite, and as such Geo was headed from the common room down to the Great Hall with her latest textbook under her arm when she heard someone in the abandoned classroom. Stopping in her tracks she put out an arm to take hold of the classroom door handle, pushing it open to see who was inside. The older she got, the more responsibility she felt to look out for the younger years, and she wasn't going to pass by if a first year needed assistance. "Gilly?" she called out upon spotting her classmate. She hadn't spoken to the Slytherin too frequently, asides from the game of Assassin last year and the duelling match Gilly had ultimately bested her at. "What are you doing?" she asked her, hair tied up on the top of her head in a pale pastel pink.

Now back at school Jess felt like she was in a much better place in her life. Losing her dad had broken her in every way she could imagine and she had done her best to shut down and shut the world out. It had been a long year and despite her best efforts her family and her extended Walden family just hadn't left her alone and even brought food to her in her dorm. Looking back, she was incredibly thankful to them all though it had led to something she hadn't expected and she wasn't quite sure how she was going to deal with it.

Jess was out roaming the halls, something she hadn't done for a long time and it almost felt like she had lost touch with much of the school so she wanted to reacquaint herself with it before classes started, which she would actually be attending that year. Jess found herself wondering along a random hallway, she'd been out so long she'd lost track of what floor she was on when she saw a flurry of pink hair. Jess only knew one person with pink hair and it was someone who once made stomach do back flips. Jess watched as Geo made her way into an empty classroom and curiosity got the better of her and the Gryffindor followed her in. She saw Geo and a Slytherin girl who's name was somewhere in the back of her mind. "Hey guys," Jess said as she walked into the classroom. "What's going on?" She asked looking over at Geo and smiling at her.

Gilly had thought that the abandoned classroom would be like it's name, abandoned. So, she was surprised when shortly after her getting there and doing a spell, one of the girls from her year, Geo, the one with the vibrant hair, addressed her and asked what she was doing. Her instant reaction was to be defensive about it. To ask why the girl cared about what she was doing, but Gilly knew that sort of reaction was the reason she didn't have any friends besides Norton. She knew a few other people but definitely not particularly well enough to call them friends. Before she had the time to answer the question, another girl walked into the room. This time she was entirely unable to stop from rolling her eyes at the intrusion, it was someone who knew Geo but who didn't know Gilly. Of course, the one possible opportunity to attempt at making a friend was thwarted because why would they both want to be Gilly's friend, especially if they both already knew each other. "I'm making spells," she told them both, "and practicing spells we've learned," the teen said to them, telling them bluntly what she was doing because there was little point in lying to them both. Gilly was sure they'd probably want to join but she didn't particularly want that. But, if she could make a few friends she'd have to give this her best effort and let them, "What are you both doing?"

The fourth year grinned when she heard that Gilly wasn't just practising spells so much as making them. She hadn't even considered to try out things that they'd not been taught, and wondered what she was trying to come up with if she had the range to try anything. It wasn't until the Slytherin referred to her as both and she heard a voice behind her though that she realised they'd been joined. Her heart sank in her chest at the sight of the Gryffindor as she turned to peer over her shoulder. They had once been great friends but right now, The Hufflepuff couldn't bear to look at her. "Well, I er, hope you find what you're looking for." She said quickly to Gilly, moving swiftly moving past Jess and out the door the way she'd come, leaving Jess to it. Who knew, maybe Gilly would be able to teach her a thing or two, given she'd missed out on so much last year. Crossly she left down the corridor, knowing if she was to be followed she could easily just morph out the way.
