Matthew had stayed at Hogwarts during the holidays this year, and it had been an odd experience. Two years ago he had still gone home to his parents, like most students did. And last year he had gone to Leah's house, where he had kissed her. It had felt weird to ask her again this year, so he hadn't. Instead he had spent Christmas by himself for the first time. It had been... odd, not very pleasant.

But thankfully the holidays had flown by, and the new semester had started. Students had returned to the school, which made the building seem a lot less empty. He hadn't looked at his new schedule yet, but he already knew it would be a lot busier than it had been last semester. The first half of the year he'd only had Charms and History of Magic. And of the two, he had definitely preferred Charms. It wasn't his best class, and not his favorite either, but he did enjoy the spells they learned. Lately he had taken to practicing some of the spells. The one spell he'd enjoyed most was the Disillusionment Charm. It made objects and people nearly look like they were invisible, though if you looked closely you could still see it. After practicing it on his book during lessons, he had started to make bigger and bigger things 'disappear' by using it. He was looking for something large to use the spell on, just to see if he could do it. As he wandered through the entrance hall, he noticed it was quite empty. Maybe there would be something here he could practice on? It would be kind of funny to see if he could make a suit of armor look as if it was gone. Though it would still be quite solid and present if someone were to walk into it.

His eye was caught by something else, and he stopped in front of the big hourglasses where the house points for the four houses were displayed. They were quite beautiful, and this wasn't the first time he had admired them since he had transferred at the start of the previous school-year. A thought came to him, and he realized he had to try it. If he could use the Disillusionment Charm on one of the hourglasses, it would look as if it was gone. It would surely confuse other students, and it would be hilarious. As long as he didn't get in trouble for it, that was. He glanced around, but no one seemed to be paying him much attention. Before he could talk himself out of it, he tapped the Gryffindor hourglass with his wand and muttered the incantation. To his delight, the hourglass took on the colors of the wall behind it immediately. The shining rubies soon hidden by the charm. It now looked like there were only three hourglasses, and he grinned to himself. This charm had a lot of potential for jokes.

The blonde was on her way to the Great Hall she was hungry and needed something to eat to start to day. The holiday flew by and she was recently back on Hogwarts. It was lovely to be home again and Espen seem to feel better too. That made her feel better also. But now it was back to reality and hard work to let Gryffindor win. It just had to happen and she had a feeling it would. When the blonde walked in the entrance hall she took a moment to see what the score was. She searched for the red hourglass but she didn't saw it? Where was it? Evelyn sighted and didn't understand it. Ravenclaw was first and they stood third she knew from before the holiday. When she came closer she noticed Matthew standing there. She had brought him a rose before for valentine, she didn't knew him that very well but he seemed cute. '' Hi Matthew! Is it me or has Gryffindor dissapeared? Have you seen anything? '' the blonde asked curious at the boy. Perhaps he had seen something.

Matthew wasn't sure if he should make another hourglass disappear, or even all the others except for Hufflepuff. But he wasn't sure if others would appreciate the joke as much. He was just about to take the spell off again, when someone spoke up. He grinned when the girl asked if he had seen anything about the disappearance of the Gryffindor hourglass. He recognized her from valentine's day last year, when Rory Night had somewhat misguidedly sent him a rose in her cousin's name. It had been a sweet gesture, he recalled, but he knew by now that the real Leah wouldn't have sent him one.

Part of him wondered if he should play innocent, make the joke last longer, but his honesty won out. "I was practicing spells." He told her with a smile. "It's not gone. Feel." He said, extending his hand to touch the still solid surface of the glass, even though it was camouflaged against the wall behind it. "I was looking for bigger things to try the Disillusionment Charm on." He told her. "Look." He tapped the hourglass again. "Finite." He was relieved when the spell wore off immediately, revealing the bright rubies once more. "You can use it on anything, though I find it harder to use it on bigger objects or people." He explained. "Sorry, I know you weren't asking for a sudden lesson in charms." He added apologetically. "I hope the disappearance of your house points didn't give you too much of a shock."
