Odette never regretted staying at Hogwarts during the holidays. It beat being at home with her mother, especially around Christmas time when the contrast between her home situation and other people's seemed a lot clearer to her. After the strange discussion with Harley before the yule ball, she was also a little glad she wouldn't be running into the girl during the holidays. Harley went home with her sister, leaving Odette at Hogwarts in peace. It had been kind of fun to just spend some time with Margo, who really was her best friend despite their fight last year. But the holidays were over now, which meant Odette was going to run into Harley sooner or later. It also meant the Quidditch season was starting again, and as the captain Odette was determined to win at least one game for their team.
Taking advantage of the lack of homework so early in the semester, Odette was curled up in the common room with a few books and magazines on Quidditch scattered around her. As she read, she occasionally took notes on a piece of parchment that she kept close to her side. Different strategies, ideas and simple moves they could try were slowly filling up the page as she did her research. It was certainly a lot more fun than homework, and she felt like she was doing something truly useful to the team. In Odette's mind, Quidditch was by far the most important part of Hogwarts.
