It was Heath James's last day as a carpenter. Well, groundskeeper was not much of a step up from carpentry, but it was better than nothing. He was going to feel like he belonged somewhere and was not must filling out a timesheet everyday. Magic gave a light to his life that he failed to see until it was gone. It was getting close to closing, and his supervisor had left early. The man left a six pack of beer for Heath to enjoy later. His supervisor was like a father to him. Heath did feel like he was betraying the man, but if he stayed in this place, a place that was not his home, Heath would be lying to himself that he was happy, satisfied even. The redhead set pack of beers on a couch close to the door. He had thirty minutes until closing. He remained prepared, but he was not expecting anyone to come.

Ai was tired. Today's business trip had been exhausting to say in the least, sure it was successful but it had been way too stressful for the woman. After all, like all previous business trips with Liam, the two of them had brought her sons, Jai and Tiziano, with them. And that meant she had to look after them for the most part, but really, what tired out more was looking after her boss. Her sons were very well-behaved during meetings thank you very much. Liam Nightray, however, was quick to be agitated and that didn't help matters much. Thank Merlin though that they got today's deals for some properties. Now, she just had to get some furniture for them while Liam stayed at the hotel and watched over the kids. He would have to get used to them really, they were taking them around tomorrow after all, as was the norm to their trips. Distractedly, Ai made her way to the shop which she heard had some pretty good furnitures made.

It took a while for Ai to find the shop but she thanked the heavens that she still had a few minutes till closing. Wearing casual clothing, mainly a pair of denim jeans, a buttoned collared shirt, and a pair of heels, and small briefcase in her hand, she hurried inside, "Hello? Is anyone around?" she called out as she opened the door and chanced a look around. The samples had some pretty good designs to be honest, and upon further inspection, they were finely made too. Now she just needeed to strike a deal with this shop. Hopefully not too bothersome. After a few more moments of looking around, she had seen one person that she had never expected to see again, that her throat had gone dry and she stood frozen in her spot. She had not expected to see Heath James.

Heath had really hoped that tonight would be easy. He had made his way to the back to grab a couple carpet samples. He looked for some that appealed to him, but he did not find any. Heath was not going to put out work that he was not comfortable with showing. He heard a ringing, signaling the entrance of a customer. Heath sighed. He knew he shouldn't have left that beer in the front of the store. He left the storage room, letting the door slam behind him. Heath started walking towards the front with his hands stuffed in his pockets. He looked up from the ground and stopped in his tracks. He did not want to see what he was seeing. He was not pleased with what, rather who, he saw. "F*ck." he groaned. Why Ai and why now? "Why are you here?" he asked passively as he walked over to his six pack of beer.

The momentary shocked was quick to dissolve after seeing Heath's reaction to her presence and an eyebrow was raised in response to his less than pleasant welcome. "Wow. Good to see you too," she said, sarcasm lacing her tone. She knew they parted in less than pleasant terms - an understatement really. She was pretty sure Heath hated her after she got pregnant in her final year, but she wouldn't trade her little boy for anything - even Heath. The woman watched as he went over to a pack of beers as he asked for her purpose in being here. "Business," she said curtly as she walked towards the counter. "I need a number of stuff made and I heard this shop gave good deals. You own the place?"
