Returning to school with a newfound positive attitude and the motivation to make his seventh and final year of school worth it, Xavier had wanted to rekindle the friendships he made throughout the years that grew distant after his decision to become a recluse. His friendship with Kauri was one of those, and agreeing to wear a matching Halloween costume with him that year seemed the perfect option to get their friendship back to what it was, granted wearing unintentionally matching Halloween costumes was the reason they had met during Kauri's first year. It almost seemed surreal how much had changed during the years since they met, and that they were intentionally dressing as hit men that night instead of as fluffy sesame street characters. The fake blood was definitely part of the costume he wasn't used to, but it had been fun and messy to put on to add extra dimensions to the suits they were wearing. As Xavier arrived to the great hall alongside Kauri, he removed his sunglasses and looked around. "Where do you want to go?" He asked shortly afterwards, unsure of where he wanted to go first.

Kauri always loved Halloween, and since Xavier would be graduating next year it only felt right to do matching costumes again in tribute to how they had met. The fake blood and bat made Kauri a little uncomfortable, but it was Halloween after all, and they were supposed to be bad guys, so there couldn't be anything wrong with looking like bad guys. Kauri was excited to see all his friends costumes, hoping everyone would be wearing something exciting this year. Once they were in the room he looked around, trying to see anyone he knew. All the costumes looked amazing, and Kauri knew tonight was going to be fun. In response to Xavier's question he shrugged, looking around. "Maybe get some snacks before they're all gone?" He suggested. "That'll give us more time to decide what to do." The amount of activities at Halloween was always exciting to Kauri, and he didn't know what he wanted to try first.

After talking things through with Arvel, the younger boy seemed to be happy enough that Geo could resume her evening, and entering the great hall she had a look for her friends. Of those she did know, they appeared to already be in conversation with others and she didn't particularly want to disturb them if she didn't recognise who they we're talking to. Dressed in simple black clothes and a hat, she slipped on the skull mask thst completed her outfit, before heading across to the snacks table. It was a little more difficult to see through the mask but nothing compared to last year's costume. Halloween was her favourite time of year though so if could scare anyone it would be worth it. She peered around the room after collecting herself a drink, and waved slowly at one of her classmates, in silence for dramatic effect.

Xavier absentmindedly twirled the sunglasses in his hand as he waited for Kauri to respond. When he suggested they go to the snacks table Xavier looked in that direction, noticing it wasn't as crowded as it could have been. It was a smart idea to go there first in case there weren't any good snacks left over later. "Sounds good. Let's go." Xavier said, starting to walk over to the table. When they arrived he noticed someone waving in their direction and he instinctively waved back, not knowing who the person was underneath their costume, but wanting to return the greeting anyway. After that he looked over the sweets on the table and pursed his lips to one side, wondering if he should choose his usual gummy worms or try something new since this would be his last Halloween feast ever. Eventually he folded his sunglasses up and placed them in his pocket, deciding to grab a handful of gummy worms as well as a handful of fudge flies since it was the other bowl close to him. He shoved the handful of gummy worms in his mouth, wiping his now free hand on his blood covered shirt as he waited to see what kind of sweets Kauri would choose.

Rose's costume for this year wasn't very inspired, but she didn't really mind. She wasn't the type to put a lot of effort into it, as she was mostly going to the feast for the fun of having a party with other people. Events like this were always the best time to meet new people, and Rose was eager to socialize as she made her way into the hall. To her surprise, she didn't see any other hippies yet, so maybe she was more original than she had thought. The Gryffindor first looked around to see if she could see any of her sisters. She knew Phoebe wasn't attending, but Diana and Alice where. Diana was talking to some girl in a strange costume, and Rose saw Alice twirling around in her princess dress. Glad both girls seemed to be doing okay, she focused her attention on finding something interesting. Passing a disturbing looking waving skeleton, Rose saw two boys with costumes covered in fake blood. Grinning, she approached. "You spilled something." She said to the younger one, pointing at his shirt. "Strawberry jam, maybe?"

Geo didn't really know what to be expecting, but as the students didn't do much more than a wave in her direction before getting distracted with all the food, she sighed to herself and turned her head to see who else she could find. Shed spent most of her evening comforting a younger student and she wanted to at least have some fun before the night was through. Not bothering to speak to the students who were more obsessed with the gummy bears, she left her drink down on the side and wandered off to see what else she could do.

It took Kauri a moment to notice the skeleton waving at him, and a moment later to come up with a theory of who was under that mask. He waved back with a bright smile, fairly sure it was one of his classmates waving at them. "Hi!" He said happily, picking up a cauldron cake with his spare hand. Kauri was definitely ready for snacks. He looked up when another girl approached them, giving her a friendly smile as he recognised her from the house meeting. "It's just fake blood." He laughed, gesturing to his shirt. "Kinda gross and creepy, but it's Halloween, right?" He commented. He looked over to the skeleton again, disappointed to see that she had left before he even had a chance to talk to her properly. He turned his attention back to the other girl, smiling. "I'm Kauri, and this is Xavier. We're hit men. For our costumes, I mean, not real ones. What are you dressed as?" As he spoke Kauri's voice cracked and he touched his throat, embarrassed at the scratchy high noise that had come out. This kept happening more and more lately and it was really bothering him, and making it difficult to talk to people. "Sorry..." He added.
