I stared at an empty notes document for far longer than what was necessary, thinking of how to write this damned post, trapped in that awkward mental paralysis brought upon by my own lack of knowledge. What am I doing here? What are the current social norms of this site? Aren’t I just a wee bit too old for this?
This is — as it turns out — not my first time introducing myself on this website. However, it has been — oh God — somewhere near a decade since I’ve last graced, not just this site, but any old-school internet forum at all.
My name is David. I’m in my twenties, and I’m going through what one might call a very, very mild crisis. As it turns out, I am a writer now, among other things. Though I’ve written very little lately, which is, I think, probably what brings me here. I am a bit of an over-sharer, so to speak. While I am having substantial personal and professional success, I am in a substantial slump.
And so I’ve come to you, being, as I am, both overworked and underproductive, in search of something elusive: childhood excitement (preferably about writing and storytelling). I'm hoping, of course, that collaborative writing, set in that universe that I adored as a kid, will return to me the joy that once accompanied writing.
And if I can’t find that something: well, at least I gave it a go!

P.S. To both my joy and sorrow, I’ve found my original account. David Pike. I put in a bit of work trying to recover this account — but I truly, truly have no idea what email a younger version of me was using in 2013. Reading my old writing was... painful. However, it wasn't as painful as it could have been. It would be fun to get it back. Maybe I can salvage something from the two-dimensional character I had made back then. If anyone is able to help with that, it would be appreciated.
P.P.S. It has occurred to me that I have actually said very little about myself, my hobbies, etc. You know, the sort of thing you're actually meant to include in posts like these. I am David. I like media, literature, and board games. I am very, very politically active, and have a tendency to be a big yapper. Feel free to ask any question! I'll do my best to answer it.

considering I'm no longer in my twenties. It's good to see you back, though I wasn't around when you were here before. I would be happy to RP in the future!
Although I relate to reading my old writing as painful, so imma just dust her under the carpet for now
