The first match of the year was coming up and Jacob and Marcos wanted the team to pick up the pace. Practices had been going well, thankfully. But there was always room for improvement. The teenager was excited to get on the pitch today. He'd been feeling the urge to fly all day, probably because he knew this practice was this evening. Jacob liked evening practices. He'd had dinner as early as he could and now sat on the grass tightening his gear, his broom by his side.

OOCOut of Character:
Arrivals please. Sorry so short. I'm working on my muse xD

Sierra was sooo excited for her first Quidditch practice. She couldn't believe she had been chosen! She was happy as an alternate, so she could learn how the game was played and pick up skills from the actual seeker, so she could be the best and have fun! The Gryffindor bounced up to the captain that was sitting on the grass, before throwing herself down next to him. "Sierra Woodlock, reporting for duty!"

Jemma had walked down to the pitch early with Jacob. She was proud of her cousin for being the team captain, and she always looked forward to practices. After all, they were so much more interesting than classes. She hated classes. In fact, she'd skip them all together if she didn't think her Aunt Cyndi would hunt her down. Carter certainly would never notice. Jemma sat next to Jake on the grass, waiting for practice to start.

Willow made her way down to the quidditch pitch her broom resting over one shoulder. She was really excited that she had made the core team this year as syrus had left leaving the spot open. Though she did miss having him around both on the team and in general. Since joining the team she had always liked training and now It was a good break from thinking about classes or prefect duties.
There were already a few people on the pitch when she arrived hey Jemma, hey Jacob. she said to her friends then she went to the younger girl. hey Sierra. Ready to catch some snitches? she asked the alternate seeker. Realising that she was now syrus to the girl and would be helping her learn the ropes of the job.

Things were looking up for Jess as her seventh year progressed. Things with Geo were good once more and having her friend back was just what she needed. Quidditch would be a bright spot for her in her final year and she was excited for the new season. She made her way down to the pitch and walked out to where her team mates were waiting to start practice.

Gabriel was so ready. This was his last year and chance to win the house cup with Gryffindor. And he hoped they would do good. He made his way to the pitch and searched out for Marcos. He saw Jacob standing and later on Marcos and grinned to the both. He than noticed the other girls and Willow their new seeker. He hoped she would do good, as an alternate she did before so they just had to practice hard and a lot and things would be fine he figured. The blonde joined the group and smiled. '' Hey guys.'' Gabriel than said and looked excited to start.

Lysander was pumped to get some more practice in with the team, and still just as shocked that he'd managed to make it as an alternate as he was at the start of the year. Even though Ellie had been bitter about him trying out without telling her, he knew his dads were proud of him, and he was certainly proud of himself too. He'd been trying his best in his Flying classes, as distracting as it was to be taught by a former Quidditch player, and now felt more confident in his ability to fly a proper broom than he had before. The boy waved at the others gathered at the pitch as he trudged his way over, making use of one of the school's slightly better brooms until he could get one of his own. He set it down on the grass and glanced around, feeling quite a bit smaller compared to the much older students on the team. It reinforced how surreal it felt to be present. Catching sight of one player in particular, seated on the grass beside the captain, did little to abate that feeling. He was on the team with Jemma Potter. It was hard to believe how many famous people were at the school, both students and professors. It almost didn't seem real. "Hi." The boy said, singling the older girl out. His cheeks flushed red despite his brave face, thinking it wild to even greet someone whos grandparent or something had practically defeated a villain and saved part of the world.

Jacob was eager to get things started, so after everyone had some time to arrive and get prepped, he began, sending the practice bludgers and snitch into the air. "Ok, everyone. Practices have been going well but it's time to kick it up a notch. So let's play hard today, no holding back. We're going to split into teams - Me, Lysander, Willow, Jessica, and Fleur against Marcos, Gwen, Gabriel, Jemma, and Sierra" he declared. "We won't have a Keeper," he informed his team before a sly grin appeared on his face, "but we won't need one." He enjoyed trash talking. It was all in good fun to him. Giving one big clap, Jacob leaned down and reached for his broom, then kicked off to begin. He tossed the quaffle in the air and then flew off to his position, removing the bulky bat from his pocket and placing it in his hand.

[Practice time! If anyone is having issue seeing the buttons, message both this and Marcos Morales' account and we'll get you sorted!]

Willow watched as the rest of the team arrived. she did enjoy taking to the air. she made a mental note to head down to the pitch more when she had free time but the mix of OWL's and prefect duties as well as trying to keep hanging out with her friends made free tine during daylight hours near impossible and she didn't fancy trying to catch the snitch in the dark.
as Jacob announced the practice teams she smiled. she would be on a team with him and fleur. She had to laugh at his comment of not needing a keeper. She had played that position once for a match and it was really boring she liked being more involved in the game. "Good luck" she said to sierra before taking to the skies and looking for the snitch for an early catch. but as she did a lap there was no sight of gold. so she flew higher and kept a lookout.

Fleur was very excited for this Quidditch practice, as she always enjoyed participating in things with the entire team. She was happy with her spot on the team, not too fussed about being an alternate, but it did mean that she enjoyed practice a bit more than actual matches, because she actually got to play. Fleur grinned at Willow and waved at Sierra, but then listened as the captain spoke. He said they would split into teams, and she was in the same team as Jessica Cade. Their side wouldn't have a keeper, but she hoped that they wouldn't need one like Jacob said. To make sure of that, Fleur zoomed forward the moment the practice started and grabbed the Quaffle. She kept an eye out for Jessica as she flew in the direction of the hoops Marcos was guarding.

As the group was sorted into teams, Lysander had to look around and try to commit to memory who he was with. He wasn't the best with everyones names yet, and knowing his luck sometimes, he'd probably end up hitting one of his own teammates with a bludger instead of the opposition. If he could even hit one at all, that was. Itching to get off the ground, the boy mounted his broom and followed the others into the sky, his hefty bat at the ready. For the most part he was quite pleased to be on Jacob's team, given that the leader was one of the people he could learn the most from, but it equally felt like a lot of pressure to do well. Since making the team, he'd been writing to Kida frequently for advice on how to do the best he could, but there was only so much he could learn from letters.

It was difficult to keep his sights on both the bludgers and the opposing team. Sander's head swivelled left and right, trying to catch on to the path of the sturdy iron balls. After he spotted one close by and sped up to fly alongside it, he swung his bat toward its side, and was genuinely surprised when it landed a solid blow. The bludger launched its way over to @Gabriel Rosenberg, and Lysander paused to watch its trajectory with a dumbfounded expression.

Sierra grinned at Willow and nodded her head enthusiastically, but didn't get much of a chance to have a conversation with her when Jacob started the practice. She waved back to Fleur, getting excited about starting the game. She couldn't believe that she'd be up against Willow! And all the other people! She definitely did not feel ready, but she supposed this was what practices were for. Hoping on her broom, Sierra took to the skies, on her search for the golden snitch.

Once practice began Jess kicked off the ground and immediately moved to fly alongside Fluer who had quickly grabbed the quaffle.

Once the shock of hitting a bludger so soon had passed, Lysander grinned and set his sights on another, eager to try and show off for all of the older players.

"Good job!" Jacob called out to the young first year. He'd been the last first year to make the team so he felt a sort of kindred spirit with the younger Gryffindor. He also wanted to be a good captain like Lizzie had been to him. But getting a hit so early was a good sign that they had a true diamond in the rough among them. Jacob took a half hearted swing of his bat sending a bludger away from himself but not near anyone else.

Sierra didn't want to get distracted by the happenings of the game, and she knew she was someone who often got distracted, so she focused really hard on looking for any gold flying around that wasn't in the midst of the game.

Gwen was very much excited to be attending her team's first quidditch practice of the year. She made her way to the pitch with a beaming smile on her face. The captain started the practice by briefing everyone and then splitting them off into two teams. When instructed and they were told they could start, Gwen quickly mounted her broom with her beater's bat in hand, searching around for any sign of bludgers.

Lysander grinned at Jacob's comment, pleased that his hit hadn't gone unnoticed. Not wanting it to be a one off fluke, he chased after the nearest bludger to strike again, though the iron ball was moving far too fast for him to keep up with on his mediocre broom.

Fleur winced as Gabriel got hit by a bludger, but was at least glad it hadn't been her. She pressed on, glad to see Jess fly nearby for support. Fleur flew up to the hoops Marcos was guarding, and threw the quaffle. Unfortunately, the shot was blocked. Fleur shrugged and smiled at Marcos for the good save, then flew off to let someone else have a turn.

After Fleur missed her shot at goal the quaffle was thrown back into play and Jess gathered it up so she could have a shot herself.

Having given up pursuing one of the bludgers, due to it remaining teasingly out of his reach, Lysander stopped to survey the pitch. His eyes landed on the prefect he had met in the forest, a girl he was fairly certain was related to Emma. The boy watched her try to score in anticipation, hoping for their team it would go through, and was a little disappointed when the keeper blocked it. Deciding to follow after the girl who took possession next, Sander kept his eyes peeled for any more bludgers flying nearby.

Willow circled high above the other players watching fleur proceed with the quaffle as she looked for the snitch. no sign anywhere. she watched her friend attempt to shoot and frowned as she missed. she headed back to the other end of the pitch. just as she was turning she saw a glint of cold about fifty meters away. She leaned forward and pressed towards it. a moment later it sparkles in the sunlight and then vanished.

Gabriel quickly jumped on his broom when the teams were made. He was glad to be with Marcos again and smiled and gave him a quick high five. But the other team had no keeper. So it was or a free goal or just try to score at Marcos. But when he followed who got the quaffle as first he tried to steal it away and was glad to see she missed. Gabriel was always competetive even if it was just practice he wanted to win! But than he got hit by a bludger really soon. He felt a pain in his side as it touched and groaned shortly. He knew if Sofia would be here she would hate it and Gabriel frowned for a moment but than saw a young kid a first year hitting him and shortly put on his thumb it was a good try. But he didn't want to be hit another time, because he wanted to practice and with being too injured that would not go well.

Rule 2A
Jessica had taken the quaffle after Fleur had missed and he was glad to see she did. He flew close to her in case she needed to pass. And he saw a change of where he could take the quaffle on he had more free area to flew so he took possesion of the quaffle and flew fast to the empty rings. If he would miss that would mean he had to train more at his aim.

Sierra couldn't help herself as she watched the chasers try to score, cheering when it didn't go in, before she noticed Willow had sped off. Sierra gasped and went to follow her before she realized nothing was there. That was a close one, Sierra told herself off, knowing she had to focus.

Jacob whacked at another bludger, hitting it but doing little more than sending it away from himself.
