Practices had begun in earnest with the start of the semester. His team was going for a championship and any and all opportunities to practice, during breaks, early morning, after lessons were being considered. Jacob's final year was coming to a close and he could feel the weight of it all descending on him with each passing day. It was taking all he could to remain the cheerful, hype man he typically was as fears of losing the championship, fears of failing his NEWTs completely overtook his thoughts. Keeping busy helped but it was in those moments where he was quiet and alone that his fears had free reign. Jacob hadn't been sleeping or eating as well as he'd have liked, and he'd caught his mom giving him odd looks in the common room but she's remained at bay. Thankfully.

Jacob had already taken his speed laps and instructed those who came to the pitch early to do the same. Once they had all arrived and done that, he'd get practice started.
OOCOut of Character:
Will officially start practice around this time tomorrow

Sully was amped for their game this semester. With any luck, Gryffindor would finally win the championship. Having missed the holiday practice, Sully was eager to squeeze in the extra time, joining the team down on the pitch and hopping on his broom for some speed laps as Jacob instructed. They were going to win this year for sure.

Emma had been a bit sad to miss a practice over the holidays, but she was still glad she had gone home with her family. She arrived at the pitch now, immediately spotting Sully and then pretending not to. She hoped he noticed how much she wasn't noticing him. To make it more obvious, she greeted Jacob instead of him. "Hi Jacob!" She said brightly. "Excited for practice?" She then glanced at Sully, wondering if he was noticing how she had ignored him. Maybe it would make him think about how he had treated her at the dance.

Sierra skipped to practice, excited to fly again. She had enjoyed the practice over the holidays, and was definitely starting to feel like the Quidditch team was her second family. She definitely loved them all. Sierra grinned at the few that were there already when she arrived, greeting them with a huge smile. "Hi guys! Did you have a nice break?"

Lysander was ready to knock some bludgers out of the park. Leonidas had given him some encouragement over the holidays, and his cousins words had him feeling more confident than ever. He wanted to be good enough to be accepted somewhere like the Flying Academy, even if he wasn't sure he ever wanted to go. He was enjoying Hogwarts too much, and he didn't want to think about leaving the friends he'd made there. Or his family, for that matter. He joined the others on the pitch, offering them his hellos while he waited to take to the sky.

Chloë was excited for the new semester, for the upcoming quidditch match. She had tried to get some training in during the break with some help from her brother. He had been reluctant at first, but when he found out which team she'd be playing against he had been more than willing to help. Although she did feel like he had gone easy on her, even if she told him not to. "Hellooo." She shot the others a bright smile when she joined the little group already on the pitch, ready to get started and get some more team training in so they'd feel ready for their match against slytherin.

Noel was ready for another practice. They needed to beat Slytherin no matter what. Noel made his way to the pitch and smiled as he saw his friends and some teammembers. He went standing next to Chloe and smiled to her and the rest. '' Hey everyone!'' He than looked at Chloe and Sully. '' Chaser squad ready?'' He than said with an grin and didn't spot Knox yet otherwise he was part of it as well ofcourse. Noel smiled to Jacob for an moment and than waited for the rest.

Jacob grinned, passing pleasantries and high fives easily with his teammates. He was going to miss them all, even the ones who'd only joined the team this year. "Ok, before we start I want to make an announcement. As you all know, I'm graduating this year. So I've been thinking long and hard about the team. And I've decided to name Lysander and Sierra as co-captains for the team next year" he grinned, clapping as he finished and hoping the rest of the team would join. "You all will be in great hands." Reaching for his broom, Jacob stood up straight again. "Now let's get back to focusing on this year and getting a championship! Team Scarlet will be Lysander, Willow, Chloe, and Knox. Team Gold is Sierra, Noel, Emma, Solomon, and me. Christian, you're team Gryffindor."

Jacob released the snitch and bludgers and then turned back to everyone. "If there's not questions, let's get started." He grabbed the quaffle and threw it up in the air when he was high enough to do so. "Game on!" he stated, doing his best imitation of the quidditch ref before flying off with his bludger bat in hand.

Quidditch and the team was easily one of the best things about being back at school and Sully gave a little cheer as his fellow chasers arrived at the pitch. He settled down as Jacob made his announcements, a bit sad they'd be losing their captain this year. "Woo, go Sierra and Lysander," He called, a little put out that Lysander was getting to be captain so young. But Lysander was a solid player so he could live with it.

With the team assignments done, Sully give Noel a quick fist bump before launching back into the air, scoop up the quaffle and heading over to the hoops.

(rule 2a)

Chloë gave Noel a smile and a nod when he asked if they were ready, before turning back and listening to what Jacob had to say. She clapped her hands and gave a little cheer at his announcement, fully supporting her teammates. Even if she’d not been on the team for long she’d be sad to see the older boy go, but she was also excited to see how Lysander and Sierra would manage as co-captains.

As soon as practice officially started Chloë pushed herself off into the air to grab the quaffle but Sully had beaten her to it. Since they were on opposing teams again he wasn’t just going to let him have it though and tried to get as close as possible. In a moment of determination she pushed forward untill she was close enough to steal the quaffle from his grip. Now in possession she held the thing close to her as she pushed forward, looking back at her friend with a chuckle before focussing back on getting the quaffle to the hoops.

Sierra smiled, feeling her cheeks blush as Jacob introduced Lysander and herself as the new captains. She joined in the clapping for Lysander too, excited to run the team with him. Sierra was sure they'd be amazing - they had learned from the best after all. Sierra saluted to the other team as Jacob called the game, before jumping on her broom and taking to the air to look for the snitch.

Chloë had looked for Knox to see if there was a possibility to pass to him, but there didn't seem to be a good opportunity to do so. Instead, she decided to go for the hoops herself, trying to push herself to go faster to get away from team gold's chasers.

When Jacob gave an short speech with the new captains he smiled. The new captains were an good choice he figured. He smiled to Lysander and Sierra and gave an thumbs up. But it was also sad that Jacob was leaving after this year. He liked the boy, and he was an good captain in Noel's opinion. He smiled as he and Sully got paired again in an team and followed him into the air when the practice began. But there was Chloe again the speed force and managed to take the quaffle from Sully. Noel grinned shortly the game was on again. He followed Chloe and tried to see an chance to steal the quaffle from her.

Lysander grinned proudly as he listened to Jacob's announcement, and happily soaked up the support. He'd wanted to talk about it so much since he'd told the two of them, and even after all the time he had to get used to the idea, he could hardly believe it. He shot Sierra a grin and mounted his broom, taking to the sky to help his team.

Chloë knew the others were close and with no good opportunity to pass the quaffle to Knox she made it to the hoops. When she got close enough to attempt a shot she did, only to see it go wide. Pity. Not too bothered since they were only just getting started she turned around, ready to chase whichever one of her friends would catch the quaffle when it was thrown back into play.

Jacob was glad to see the support people seemed to offer Lysander and Sierra. He was also happy about how quickly everyone got to work after. Jacob took a swing at a bludger but it sagged away, causing him to get nothing but air.

Lysander raised his bat, zooming around the sky to find a bludged, now needing to prove himself in front of everyone. He came up alongside one and swung, but missed, scowling as he flew off to try again.

When Chloe missed to score he gave her an small smile. She was such an good member to the team, and he was happy she joined them. But now he took posession of the quaffle and put it under his arm trying to give Christian a bit of space before he would try again.

Sully definitely hadn't been paying enough attention, too busy enjoying being back in the air, so he let out a noise of surprise when Chloë managed to steal the quaffle, shooting after her as she approached the hoops. Luckily her shot went wide and Sully followed up after Noel as he caught the quaffle. "Nice try, Chloë!"

Lysander came up behind another bludger and pulled back to hit it. He searched for targets, briefly forgetting who was actually on his team. By the time he figured it out, he’d lost the bludged he’d been tailing.

As soon as Noel caught the quaffle Chloë made work to start chasing the other two. She enjoyed their practice competitions and just like last time she was going to try and make it as difficult as possible for the other chasers.

Noel saw Chloe and Sully following him but he tried to keep focused. In case it was needed he could pass it to Sully but Noel felt like it was not needed yet. He made his way to the hoops and getting closer to hopefully an goal.

Sully knew Chloë was close on their tails and he did his best to block her from Noel so he could get in a clean shot, laughing as he did.

Chloë knew it was likely that Noel would want to pass to Sully and tried her best to get in between them, but Sully wasn’t making it easy for her.

Noel came closer to the three hoops and Christian and when he got closer he figured he would try himself. The brown haired boy made an attempt and cheered as he saw the quaffle going through the left hoop. He had scored!! Noel smiled and flew closer to Sully. The game was on!
