Diana was still crying, rushing through the corridors aimlessly. She was vaguely aware that she had to go to her dormitory, and that that was located in the dungeons, but she couldn't entirely think clearly on how to get there. Edmund's words were crowding in her head, only making her want to cry more. Diana had never felt this powerless before, and hadn't realized just how much of her heart she had given to the boy. She hadn't realized he could hurt her like this, and now that she did she hated it with every fiber of her being. She was certain she could never look at him again, never be in the same room again. This pain was terrible, and she wished she could hate the boy who had done this to her.

She was somewhere in one of the corridors below the fourth one when she realized she couldn't go on. At least it seemed a little emptier than the one she had just been in. Diana was normally very aware of how she looked to others, but at this moment she simply couldn't care. She allowed herself to sink to the floor with her back against the wall in a small alcove, covering her face in her hands. All she could do was cry for now. She had thought so highly of herself for having a boyfriend, and had enjoyed it so much. Now all that seemed silly, and she could already imagine people laughing about her and talking about her. All that would be bearable, if she hadn't actually been hurt by Edmund. But he had come to mean more to her than just the status of having a boyfriend, but she apparently hadn't meant anything to him.
*((Feel free to have your character have witnessed what happened, but please don't have them figure out what actually happened if they did see it. Or at least not tell Diana.))

Sapphire hummed to herself as she made her way through the halls. She was slowly working her way up to the Gryffindor hall. She didn't particularly have a plan, but there was sure to be someone interesting to bump into up there. Jacob, her brother, Mervyn, maybe even Benji or her cousin Jasper. She was passing through one of the emptier corridors, just wondering, when she thought she heard something. She slowed, her brows furrowing as she listened closer. Was that... crying? Concerned, she began to look for the source of the sound.

It didn't take her long to find it. Sapphire froze in her tracks. Shock overwhelmed her for a split second. She shook it off quickly and darted forward, falling to her knees in front of her friend. She placed her hands on Diana's shoulders. "Di? Di! What happened?" She asked, concern clear in her voice. She had never seen anything phase the girl and Sapphire was ready to spit fire at the sight.

Having grabbed an apple from the kitchens, Finn was making his way up to the library to do some - ugh - studying, when he heard a strange sniffling noise coming from an alcove in the wall. He stopped and looked around. The noise was coming from a girl he recognised from his house, though he had no idea what her name was, or why she could be crying. He stared at her for a second, and then took another bite of his apple. He was going to ask why she was crying, but just at that moment another girl appeared and asked it for him. Cool! To heck with the studying - this was going to be super juicy.

Boys were stupid. End of. There was no point, and Analei knew that from now on, she was just going to focus on her studies. If she wanted to be an Auror, there was going to be no time for boys. Her parents and Arvel were the only people she could trust, and the only people that were going to be in her life. Even though Arvel was a boy, he wasn't a stupid boy, and had never let her down like Simon had. He wasn't anything like Simon, or even Jacob. Analei had been a storm of rain clouds and thunder around the castle since it had happened, and it was what she was feeling today. That was, until she saw a familiar face. Diana was crying? It was an unexpected sight for anyone to see, but Analei couldn't see someone cry, and not try to do anything about it - even if it were Diana. She timidly made her way over to the girl, unsure if the Slytherin would even want her there, and thankfully, another Slytherin girl showed up, who seemed to know Diana. Analei knelt down next to Diana, and placed a hand on her knee to show support, even if she had nothing to say.

Diana could feel herself shaking, and she hated everything about this moment. Usually she was always in control. Sure, she could get angry and lash out, but that was always something she did to protect herself from being vulnerable. It wasn't something she always had control over, but at least it didn't leave her open and exposed. But she simply had to let her emotions out, even if it was in a public corridor. She lifted her hands from her face when she felt a touch on her shoulder, imagining for one ridiculous moment that her mum was here. But no, it was Sapphire. Diana was glad to see her, and she was glad they were friends again even if she had been mean to her and her friends. She shook her head, finding it difficult to find coherent words. She noticed another blonde and glanced her way, realizing after a moment it was Analei. That confused her. Sapphire was her friend, but Analei had every reason to dislike her. Was she here to take a good look and laugh at her later? But she didn't seem to be laughing. Diana let out another sob, not ready to analyze this situation the way she normally would. She simply accepted that the two girls were for now, and tried her best to speak in a way that was understandable. "He... " She wiped her eyes angrily, though the tears were still coming fast. "Edmund. He ..." She shook her head again, biting down on her lip for a moment. "He d-dumped me." The words caused a fresh wave of sobs, as putting it into those words hurt all over again. But it really was the only way to describe what had happened.

Sapphire shot a look at the younger Slytherin- Finn or something. This wasn't a sideshow. She was startled to see Analei there, but she gave the girl a small smile. Sapphire paid close attention as Diana managed to explain what was wrong.

Her words surprised her. Edmund did what? Her blood ran cold as anger towards the boy filled her. For once, though, Sapphire didn't speak. As Diana started crying again Sapphire leaned forward, pulling Diana closer as she hugged her friend.

Quite a crowd was gathering. Finn continued to eat his apple, craning to see Diana's face when the blonde girls obscured her from view. Over the chatter in the corridor it was difficult to catch what Diana said, but Finn, who didn't want to miss anything exciting, was listening very carefully, and definitely caught the gist. "Ooohh, s**t!" he said mostly to himself, laughing. He kind of wished Uno was there to watch the whole thing unfold with him. Sure, he could tell her about it later, but it was like going to a movie alone - nowhere near as fun as going with a friend. "Did you hear that?" he asked someone who happened to be passing. "She totally just got dumped!"

Analei's shoulders slumped when Diana admitted what happened. She was right! Boys were the worst! Analei was slightly surprised that the Slytherin girl hadn't told her to go away, but perhaps she just really needed the comfort and support. Analei stay knelt at Diana's side as Sapphire leaned forward and gave her a hug. She felt helpless, it wasn't particularly a feeling she enjoyed feeling, but she wasn't going to leave a crying person alone, especially if Diana didn't seem to mind her presence there at the moment. Analei heard a voice behind her, it seemed to be filled with glee, and she turned to see a younger boy spreading what happened. She shook her head. "Dude - go away. Seriously." Analei snapped, fuming at the boy.

Diana was grateful for the hug, allowing Sapphire to hold her for a little while and clinging to her. She wished her sisters were here too, or her other friends. But it was pretty nice that anyone was here at all, and not making fun of her. But that only lasted a few seconds, as an unfamiliar voice nearby spoke about her in a mocking way. It was enough to make Diana let go of Sapphire, but she couldn't muster up her usual venom. All she could do was send a glare his way, but with tears still streaming down her face she didn't think it was all that effective. She was strangely glad for Analei, though still suspicious of her motives as well. Diana sniffled, looking down and wiping her face with her sleeve. It wasn't the most elegant of gestures, but she didn't care. "I d-don't know what to do." She whispered, her voice still shaking. The sobs were calming down, but she was still crying. Tears were dripping off her face, and she was sure she was gross and blotchy and red by now.

Sapphire looked to Analei, completely ignoring the boys' presence. "Hey, Analei, right?" She gave her a smile. "I'm going to stay here with her. We need Rose or Alice. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, do you think you could go get one of them?" She asked, thinking maybe one of Di's sisters might be more helpful to her than Sapphire was. She turned back to Di, reaching into her bag and pulling out a handkerchief. She couldn't even remember why she had it, but she was suddenly glad she did. She offered it to her friend. "Here Di, wipe your eyes." She had already begun plotting different ways to handle this. Di wouldn't have to do anything.

Phineas hadn't realised he'd been so loud until two of the three girls shot him a glare. He had just as much right to stand in the corridor as everybody else! What gave the Hufflepuff the right to tell him to leave? Hoping to get them off his case, he shrugged and started off down the corridor, as if to leave. Then after a few steps he turned around and came back, careful to stay quiet this time. If he didn't find out the whole story, he'd be wondering about it all day! It was just a shame the crying girl had taken to whispering. Now Finn couldn't even guess what she was saying. He took a slow, careful nibble of his apple, trying not to make any noise.

Analei was glad that the younger Slytherin boy seemed to move on. Analei squeezed Diana's knee gently in support, and was about to tell her how stupid all boys ever were, when Sapphire turned to her. Analei nodded her head when she asked her name, but furrowed her eyebrows when the girl continued speaking. She didn't like being told what to do - the only people that had that right was the Professors. Analei narrowed her eyes at the girl, frustrated because it was a good idea. She looked at Diana, giving her a small smile before standing up and walking away to try find one of her sisters. By some sort of sheer luck, Rose seemed to be approaching the group. Analei quickly walked up to her, telling her that her sister was crying because of a stupid boy. She walked Rose over to the group, before standing back, awkwardly, unsure whether she should stay or leave.

Where the heck was her friend? There was no one else worthy of her time in this stupid castle (alright, maybe one or two other people), but she wanted to hang out with Finn - not that she'd ever tell him any of this. Finally, she found him on the Third Floor - which was good, she wasn't going to climb any more stairs for him! "Shark boy!" She shouted exuberantly, before noticing what was happening around them. "Ooooh, what's going on here? B**ch fight? No no, someone died? No - no," She paused, looking at the group of girls. "Defintiely a b**ch fight."

Rose had been wandering through the corridors, when she heard people talk. Whispered conversations usually meant something was up, but Rose was determined to ignore it. As a prefect, she still wasn't comfortable actually using her badge to discipline anyone. So if she didn't see anything happen specifically, she figured she didn't have to deal with it. It wasn't until she heard her own last name attached to the whispers that she started paying more attention. Had Diana done something? She still remembered how upset she had made Jacob Kingsley last year, and felt dread in her stomach as she looked for any sign of any of her sisters. The third floor corridor seemed to be the source of some commotion, and as Rose approached, she recognized Analei heading in her direction. Rose's eyes widened as the girl explained Diana was crying, and she knew immediately that it was serious. It wasn't that Diana never cried, but it usually was with some sort of purpose, and never this publicly. She followed Analei, turning to her quickly. "Thank you." She said earnestly, squeezing the girl's shoulder.

She noticed a few students were standing around watching what was happening, but that could be dealt with later. All Rose had time for was to throw them a stern look before she was kneeling in front of her sister. One of Diana's friends was there too, which was a relief. Rose couldn't remember the last time she had seen Diana this sad. "Hey, Di..." She said gently, brushing her sister's hair back. "Let's go somewhere else, okay? It's going to be alright." She wasn't entirely sure what Diana needed, but she would try her best to provide it for her. For now, it was probably smart to get her away from prying eyes. Rose glanced at the blonde girl with her. "Sapphire, right? Can you go up to Ravenclaw and ask for Phoebe?" Diana needed her older sisters right now, Rose decided to keep Alice out of it for now. "I'll take her to..." She glanced around, uncertain. "The trophy room. It's nearby and more private than this place." She helped pull Diana to her feet. "It's going to be okay." She said again, but wasn't sure how much she could do for her sister. Rose frowned when she heard a nearby girl talk about what had happened, and for the first time felt compelled to use her status as a prefect. She turned to the girl, who was standing with a boy eating an apple. "You two." She said, her voice uncharacteristically stern. "Go away, this isn't some sort of attraction. If you don't, I'll have a talk with your head of house." She gestured to the end of the corridor. "Go on."

Diana was vaguely aware that Sapphire told Analei to get her sisters, though she didn't really react to it. She was trying her best to calm down and stop crying as much, as she didn't want to be a spectacle. Rose appeared very quickly, which she was grateful for. She was also glad her sister had some sort of plan about what to do, because as far as Diana was concerned she would be sitting in this alcove until her tears dried. Which would probably be never. The mention of Phoebe made her want to protest at first, but she realized after a moment she did want her sister here. Phoebe often fought with her, but she knew her sister wouldn't do that now. She glanced at Sapphire and tried her best to give her a smile, but it was very weak. "T-thanks." She said softly, before the smile slipped again. She got to her feet with Rose's help, but kept her face turned away from almost everyone else. She heard her sister engage with some of the onlookers, but hoped it would soon be solved so they could get out of here. She did sneak a peek at Analei, meeting her gaze for a moment. She wondered what the Hufflepuff was thinking, and why she had been there for her. She gave her a small nod, then averted her gaze.

Sapphire was relieved to hear Analei agree. If she hadn't she would have gone herself, though she wasn't exactly comfortable leaving Diana alone right now. The girl didn't seem to notice Sapph's offer, so she took it on herself to wipe the cloth gently over Di's cheeks. She knew they wouldn't stay dry for long so she pressed the cloth into her hands as Rose appeared. Sapph sat back, giving the Gryffindor room to get to her sister.

Sapphire stood with the other two for a minute, smiling at Diana as she thanked her. "Hey," She told her, pressing a closed fist lightly against her shoulder. "I told you, didn't I? I've always got your back." She winked at the two before hurrying off. Phoebe, huh? Sapph knew a few shortcuts up to Ravenclaw tower. She'd be there in ten minutes, tops.
