Misha stood at the front of his class as he waited patiently for his students to arrive, knowing that they would be glad for a break from quizzes. "I am very pleased with the results from most of your quizzes; I believe you all will do fine on your OWLs. I expect the best effort from each and every one of you." He looked to the windows, and as planned, it was raining heavily outside. "Now, students, we will not be using a charm of a destructive nature today; rather, we will be using one that proves to be quite useful. Luckily, this spell can be used on anything; whether it be your face, your glasses, what have you."

"Today, after we cast this spell, you are going to be going outside into the rain, and I promise you will see the effects of this spell. The spell we are going to be learning today is Impervious." Professor Haden paced as he pulled out a jacket, waving his wand and stating, "Impervious." A slight glow appeared around his jacket and then disappeared. "Now, students, cast this spell at an object, any object. If you are not confident in your abilities, I suggest you cast Impervious on an object or thing you are not afraid to get wet." Once all of the students had cast the spell, or at least tried, Professor Haden led them out of the classroom, and in no time they were outside, the students somewhat tentative about bringing their things into the downpour. Without a worry, Misha stepped into the rain, his hair immediately becoming soaked. However, his jacket seemed to have a barrier around it; repelling the water perfectly and leaving the article of clothing perfectly dry.

He watched as the students examined their things, most of them remaining dry and repelling water also. Bellowing over the resounding downpour, Misha spoke, "You see, Impervious repels water. If you wish to keep an object dry, or yourself, for that matter, you need only cast this spell. I have heard it is quite useful in Quidditch matches with rather unfavorable weather conditions; also useful for keeping glasses dry or if you have forgotten an umbrella." Leading his students back to the classroom, Misha's short hair was still sopping as the students gathered their things. "I wish you all the best on your OWLs. I cannot emphasize enough, study, study, study, practice, practice, practice. Have a lovely break, I hope to see you again next year as sixth year"

-RP the lesson, no quiz!

Jerara’s studying had become possibly more intense that it had been in the prior weeks, he just hadn’t known at what point to stop really, and he was down to a few hours of sleep a night. He was keen to get through the final week because without classes the boy could focus on just his studies, he could focus just on the revision he had and nothing else. After the OWLs were done, he already had all the books ready for him to read. He was just ready to get on to those works. The boy just had to get to the end of this week. He paused his studying and got the things he would need for this coming week. Gathering up the bits and pieces and then heading out to the class. Hopeful of the revision he’d be able to do in the class for once not hopeful that they’d learn anything new.
Jerara was hopeful that this final charms lesson of the semester would be a revision lesson, but by his own notes, there was still one spell left for them to cover so it was unlikely that they would be able to just study. The teen took his usual spot in the room, and was glad that at the very least there would be no quiz for him to complete, instead they would just be doing a spell. He listened to the professor introduce the spell, and knew it would be useful for if ever Jerara happened to be studying outside, or for the occasional shower reading. The boy took the time to listen to the professors explanation, and watched as the professor did the spell. There would be no telling of if the spell had worked until they went outside, which Jerara didn’t particularly like, but he would deal with it. The teen took the time to cast the spell on his bag, making sure he felt confident he’d managed it and then on his robes and then headed outside. His head would be his own control group to see if it worked. He stepped out into the rain and saw that it had worked, though thankfully they didn’t spend too long out. He went back to the class and from there gathered up a few bits that he had left and headed to the library to revise. His hair would dry naturally.

Signy was feeling the most stressed she’d been all semester, it was as if the fact she had OWLs to prepare for and then do was finally hitting her. She could feel herself get more uncomfortable about the amount of work she had to do to ensure that her grades stayed good. The teen was nervous and cautious but she would definitely have to try her hardest in it. This last week of classes was definitely going to allow her the time to start upon her revision and figure out where she was for most of her classes. All in all, Signy was nervous and anxious about her exams, but she was probably as stressed as others. Signy didn’t have much time for anything but the studying and the prefect duties. She was getting ready half filling out a schedule for the coming weeks based upon the work she knew she needed to do. She would make edits to it during this final week and put it into action the moment the classes were done. For now however, she made sure she had everything and headed to class.
Signy wandered into the charm classroom and took her usual spot in the room and looked towards the professor at the front. She had found the quizzes in the lessons to be rather fun, but more so she was just happy that there was still a spell to be done. The amount of work that she had for her classes was good and she managed to keep up quite well with them, and her revising was going well, but the chance to just learn a new spell and do something like that in this final week was helpful too. The teen listened as the professor gave a small lecture about it. What the spell was and what it did. She knew trying the spell would be good but she was mostly just glad that she hadn’t just washed her hair. Since getting it wet with the rain would be less than ideal. Although that was if she could the spell wrong. The girl cast the spell upon her hair and then headed out with the rest of the class. Leaving her things in the classroom, and heading out with the rest of the class to where they could go outside. She closed her eyes and just took a solid step out. Reopening them when it was clear that the spell had worked. She was pretty pleased with it. With that the lesson was brought to an end and Signy headed back to the class, for the professor’s last words before being dismissed.

Odette only had one class this semester, which was the only reason the dragged herself out of bed and to Charms every week since her mother's death. If she couldn't handle one class, she would feel weak. Especially because staying on her own in the dormitory hardly ever made her feel any better. There really was nothing that really made her feel better besides talking to Maria, and Odette found herself looking forward to those sessions every week too. The idea of getting to live with her gave her a glimmer of hope for the holidays, but she also wasn't sure if that was too good to be true.

Predictably, Professor Haden mentioned the OWLs. Odette had given up on trying to do well on those, as studying was becoming a struggle for her. She wished he wasn't so mysterious about the spell they were learning, but reluctantly used the spell on her own jacket. It seemed to work, as a glow appeared briefly. Then they had to head outside and stand in the rain. She watched as the professor's jacket repelled the water, and she saw as she stepped into the rain that her own jacket did the same. But her hair and the rest of her clothes were still getting wet, so she found herself increasingly annoyed with this lesson. The only saving grace was the use this spell could have in Quidditch matches. Once they were dismissed, Odette headed back to the castle grumpily, her hair dripping.

The end of the year was coming soon, and Rose felt very anxious about the OWLs. She wanted very badly to celebrate her mother's victory and go home to congratulate her in person, but the fact that exams had to happen first made her less excited about the future. She had worried about the OWLs for almost the entire school year now, and still wasn't sure what would happen if she failed them all. She had asked this of Professor Kingsley at the start of the year, who had reassured her. But now that the exams were close, it was starting to seem like more of a real possiblity. Rose always enjoyed Charms, but she wasn't too confident about her ability to pass the OWL. Even though she liked learning new spells, she was kind of hoping for a revision lesson just to give her an extra edge.

But it became clear pretty quickly that they were going to learn one last new spell in this year, and even though Rose knew she really didn't need more information to go over for the OWL exams, she was also excited. It was kind of funny how the professor was all mysterious about what the spell would do, and just had them cast it on any object. Rose cast it on her Charms book, though if it got soaked and hard to read she wouldn't mind too terribly as it would at least give her a reason she failed her OWL. After casting the spell, she made her way down with the rest of the class until they were at the entrance to the grounds. She wished she had brought an umbrella as the rain was pouring down hard, but she quickly realized she could use her book to cover her head. As she did so, she noticed the water was being repelled off the pages, much like the water was being repelled from the Professor's jacket. At last, she understood the purpose of this spell. Rose grinned, glad that she now knew how this worked. She quickly made her way inside again, though she wished the professor hadn't reminded them of the upcoming OWLs one last time.

At the start of the year, Tristan had felt very confident about his ability to do well on his OWLs. Now that they were around the corner, some of that confidence had faded. He wanted very much to excell at them, but he worried a little about a few of the subjects. Arithmancy and Ancient Runes in particular were ones he worried about, but he could at least study for runes together with his girlfriend October. But even as the worries about the OWLs increased, Tristan didn't waste time basking in his win of the dueling tournament for his year. He didn't do it in front of October, who probably wouldn't appreciate it. But he was very happy he won.

Charms was one of those subjects that always seemed pretty active and practical, and because he had done the reading he knew what spell they were going to cast. Seeing the weather outside, he had a feeling where this was going from the start. Once the professor told them to cast the spell on something, he decided to cast it on his own hair. It would curl a bit once it got wet, and he didn't want to look silly. The class made their way outside where the professor told them more about the spell. It really wasn't very practical because he had to shout over the sound of the rain, but it didn't seem to him like Professor Haden was someone who thought things out in advance very well. He ended the lecture with another warning about their OWLs and how important they were, and then they could go back inside where it was dry.

Corrine liked the rain under circumstances like this, when she could enjoy the sound of it without dealing with any of the wet. It was a soothing sound, but because of the rain, the castle was a bit louder as everyone was confined in it for the day. Corrine was getting to the point where she simply couldnt wait for the OWLs to be done. She was just about studied out, her decision to host a study group had a been a good idea and easily the most fun she had studying. Corrine was just excited to spend a few weeks in Greece before coming back to New Zealand for the rest of her break. Already, she had made plans with Cullen and she was excited for him to ask her to be his girlfriend because she was convinced that was what was going to happen.

Corrine stared at the professor as he asked them to cast the impervious spell on an item. Surely, he wasn't expecting them to go out in the downpour. But it seemed he was, and Corrine quickly rifled through her bag, trying to find something she wouldnt hate getting damaged. She finally settled on her shoes, casting the charm on them though there really was only one way to know if it succeeded. Some of her classmates were far more brave, but she didnt want to get wet herself nor did she want her notes damaged and she hugged her bag tightly to her as they headed outside. Sticking her foot out into the rain, Corrine was happy that they were repelling water. But she was fine with not testing them further and was glad when the lesson ended.

With exams on the horizon, October was beginning to really feel the pressure in most subjects, but for Charms at least, she felt fairly well prepared. Her harsh revision schedule was playing havoc with her sleep though, and she could feel the bags under her eyes as she took her seat in the classroom, pushing down a yawn as she got her things ready. October had done some reading ahead about the charm they would be learning today, and she had been looking forward to it. Her dad had used this spell often to keep the rain off them when she was a child, and it was exciting to be able to do it herself. She took notes as the professor spoke, and when it was time to cast the spell she picked up her wand, trying to decide what to test it on. October was fairly confident in her abilities, but she didn't want to risk anything as important as her notes. Eventually she settled on her scarf, unwinding it from her neck and watching the slight shimmer as she cast the spell on it. Once everyone was ready she followed Professor Haden out, watching as the rain stayed off his coat. Curious about her own attempt, October held her scarf out into the rain and pulled it back, delighted to find that the garment had stayed dry. Pleased with her effort, October went with the rest of the class to collect her things, then headed out to the library to study some more.
