Hades Styx the Third remained perched on the desk, even after the students filed in. There was another quiz, but this time it was laying on their desk rather than Hades just waiting until they were seated and then giving out the quiz. This was the last one if he counted correctly. They would be going over the charms that were learned in their fourth year. This better be easy for them. They just learned it. He gestured to the door and it shut. "Okay, one last quiz is on your desk. Closed textbooks. Get it done and we will move on to the next spell." Hades watched over the fifth years as they got started on the quiz. Once they were done, he collected them and graded them. Hades was fast, so he handed them out using magic.
1. What does the Confundus Charm do?
2. What does the Drought Charm do?
3. What does Descendo do?
4. What does the Bubblehead Charm do?
"We are not staying here for long. So, let's head out." Hades was sort of vague with what they were going to do, but if the fifth years did their reading, they would understand why they had to have a bigger, emptier classroom for the upcoming spell. In the next classroom at the end of the first floor, there were several chairs with a vine, a rope, and a chain wrapped them. "So, this will be used for the severing charm. Diffindo. With this charm you can cut whatever you please that is not magically reinforced. That is why I have those three things tangled around each chair. The power behind the spell depends on you, on top of pronunciation and wand movement. Chains will be harder than a vine."
Hades pulled out his wand and demonstrated with a spare chain and chair that he brought along. The chain fell in two without harming the chair. "That is how it is done. Work on the vine first, then the rope, and finally the chain. Once you have the chain cut cleanly in half, you are free to leave. Try not to cut the chair in bits though." Hades pocketed his wand and stood around to see if the fifth years needed help.
Assignment: RP the lesson. Quiz is EC.
