Although she was curious about absolutely everyone and everything this castle had to offer, it had only occurred to Nell in the holidays that there was a whole area of Hogwarts that she had entirely neglected so far. She had explored the upper floors near her dorms as thoroughly as she could, but in all this time the dungeons had been far enough from home that Nell had simply written them off, never venturing into the castle's underbelly except for classes. That absolutely, without a doubt had to end now. There were bound to be all sorts of exciting secrets hidden in the Hogwarts dungeons, and Nell was excited to find them all. Stepping off the stairs, Nell looked around a moment, before deciding to pick a random direction and simply walk. As long as she didn't wind up at the Potions classroom, hopefully whatever was ahead would be a surprise, and she couldn't wait to see where this adventure took her.

Vi held her aspen wand, palm tightly securing the white and sturdy wood. She raises her dominate hand and sends out multiple spells she was practicing on her own. Some sparks flew from the tip, and then a ghostly wind spurt as she recited, "Petrificus Totalus," her target a spider that was solid as a stone once the last spell connected. Pleased with herself, Vi freed the spider from its imprisonment. Like, anything that was free from its tormenter it scurried helplessly trying to get away. "Wait, I'm not done with you," Vi springs to get the spider to get practicing her spells some more. Naturally, the dungeons are the darkest, most poorly lit part of the castle in this entire school. There was no chance to get the spider back running while barely able to see what's in front of you. Vi cast "Lumos" taking her chance, when does one come across a spider without hunting one down? Never, Vi kept up her search, while doing so she saw with the use of her wand someone wandering nearby. "Who's there, have you seen a spider?"

Nell was having quite a good time, just exploring at random. She hadn't found anything of much interest yet, but it was exciting wandering around a place she had never been before. Rounding a corner, Nell was surprised to see someone up ahead with a lit wand, squinting a little to see if she recognised them. It was only when Violet spoke that Nell finally realised it was one of her classmates. "Hi Violet!" She said cheerfully, taking a moment to actually process the girl's question. "What? Oh, uh..." She faltered, looking around uncertainly. "Do you mean a particular one? I always thought there were just spiders everywhere down here..." Nell trailed off, trying to see if she could spot any spiders, though now that she thought about it the dungeons so far had been cleaner than she expected in general.

Vi close in on the distance between her and the other person. Vi held her wand up further to see a familiar face come clearer into view. "Hi," Vi responded apathetically. "Yes, I was trying to practice some spells. It disappeared on me," Vi lowered her wand. There will always be a spider she can find to practice on. Right at the moment, Nell held her attention. It was more like her comment that caused some internal distress for the Slytherin girl. "What? You're kidding, right? What, you thought we were living in a swamp or something down here? Swimming in own on feces," Vi felt, she doesn't know, offended by Nell's assumption? It came across that way, Nell was not alone to think like that. Anyone who didn't live in the dungeons may have held similar views.
