Pixie had put on a pretty dress and put a nice fake crown on her head and come to the halloween celebration. She like witch things and halloween was bound to be something she was supposed to love, she just didn't go to the celebration because it was always so busy. Pixie never liked crowds, she could manage them, but they were daunting and easily overwhelming, but she wanted to at least see what things were on offer at such a celebration. She wanted spooks and she wanted to be dressed as a princess while looking at a spooky room. Pixie didn't want to be a dark witch, but she just like the old movie witches with old houses in forests doing their own things away from everyone else. That was what she wanted. Pixie however was immediately regretting her decision, her back was to a wall, not far from the entrance to the hall and she was unable to get herself to move into the crowd. it was just....too much....she wanted to stick it out a bit, but knew she wouldn't last long.

Halloween's fast approach had blindsided Juno and he hadn't gotten past the planning stage of his costume before the night arrived. Undeterred, he'd shredded some old clothing that no longer fitted him correctly and drawn dark circles around his eyes. Finishing off the look by drawing lightening-shaped veins with cheap eyeliner, which immediately smudged as he tried to fix it, Juno deemed his look adequate to blend in with the other costumed students without drawing unwanted attention. He began casing the joint the minute he entered the hall, in search of the best game to acquire the most lollies, pausing as he noticed someone he knew. "Hey! Hey, Pixie!" he whisper-yelled at his housemate. "You look really pretty!" Juno grinned awkwardly and gave Pixie a thumbs up, already regretting his foray into social interaction.

Pixie looked over suddenly when someone spoke to her. She didn't know who this boy was, though he was in her house and year. She felt herself blush lightly at his compliment and then shook her head at him. She didn't reply to what he said just gave a little curt nod to him, and then looking around the hall, assuming that he would now move on to find someone else.

Juno was disappointed in himself for knowing barely anything about someone he'd gone to school with for two entire years, though he hadn't exactly made a huge effort to talk to people. "Do you want to maybe try the apple bobbing with me?" he asked, taking a hesitant step towards Pixie. "You don't have to, if you're, like, waiting for friends or something. I don't know, but if you want to?" Juno grimaced at his babbling and wiggled his shoulders in a shrug, ready to disappear into the crowd of students if he was just annoying his housemate.

Pixie expected him to leave, after all she'd said nothing and by her own experiences most people tended to move on from her when it was clear she wasn't going to interact much. But he kept talking and her gaze moved to the apples, which was far too much into the hall, too crowded with people, just it was...no. She shook her head, "Don't want to," her voice came out low and tight, she looked back at him. She knew it was a mistake. She had wanted to see what the fuss was and now she'd seen it. She motioned towards the entrance to the hall clearly trying to indicate that she wanted to leave.

"Right, sorry," Juno apologised, a little hurt. He also confused as to why Pixie wanted to leave the event entirely. Had he done something to offend her? Whatever it was, he wanted to fix it and then maybe she'd want to be his friend. She was a little strange, but Juno was hopeful she didn't completely hate him. "Are you... okay? Do you want me to leave you alone too?" She probably did, but Juno didn't see any harm in asking questions he already thought were stupid.

Pixie felt a little bad, noting that the boy was maybe a little...upset by her trying to leave, or looking to leave. She nodded her head as he asked if she was okay, but it was clear she wasn't that okay. She raised a hand and motioned to the crowd of people milling about, "Crowds," she said, she wanted to leave really, but there were just so many people and she wasn't sure how'd she'd duck out without having to squeeze past people, truly this was not worth it and she felt a little bad for the boy who was just trying to be nice.

With the one word, Juno realised what was up with Pixie and felt stupid for not getting it before. He didn't love big groups of people himself, but he'd gotten used to having to spend every meal in the crowded hall so it didn't bother him so much anymore. He frowned in the direction of all the people milling around Juno had a mission to complete now and wasn't going to leave until Pixie had been safely escorted to non-crowded freedom. "Uh, c'mon, follow me!" he said, using his body as a shield as he carved a path out of the room.

Pixie was rather surprised that instead of just leaving her alone, the boy had begun trying to help her out of the hall. She followed without a word so that she could leave. She had known this was a mistake, she had known it would be bad and awful and just not that fun. But she hadn't thought it would be this bad. There were too many people, things were too loud and she was not interested in being around this anymore.

ooc: if you want we could do a secondary thread outside of the hall? no guarantee she'll say more, but let me know if you'd be interested.
