Open Creatures of the Night

The way Hogwarts celebrated this night was still... juvenile at best. But Theodore couldn't let the gaudy costumes and decorations dampen his spirits too much. He was way too glad he was here with Edmund again. The two of them together on their birthday once more. They even had matching costumes again. They were recognizable this year, both of them dressed as vampires. Theodore had decided at the last minute to wear his glasses tonight. There was something appealing about being not entirely identical, even in the same costume. He had noticed Zoe in her costume earlier too, and had been a bit nervous about how pretty she looked. He wanted to talk to her soon, though he wanted to be with his twin first. He glanced over at Edmund. "Here we are again." He said solemnly. They were both standing near the edge of the room, watching the proceedings and celebrations. "I wonder if they'll ever celebrate it properly." He added.

Finally, after two miserable years, Edmund felt right on his birthday again. Being half of a pair on your birthday alone was... agonising, and Edmund would be happy if he never repeated the torment again in his life. Edmund and Theodore were meant to be together on their birthday, and here they were, matched once again. Edmund leaned against the wall next to his brother, looking around the room, and scoffed in disdain, shaking his head. "I doubt it." Edmund said sadly, shaking his head. "A room full of.... princesses and fairies is no way to honour the darkest day on the calendar. This school will never truly deserve to celebrate our birthday."

Theodore was happy that Edmund shared his views on Halloween, though he knew he was a bit of a hypocrite for still enjoying Zoe's costume a lot even though it wasn't scary at all. He decided not to mention that to his brother. The subject of their girlfriends was still a bit strange between them. "It's difficult to believe we only have one more of these events to attend." He said after a small pause. "As childish as this all is, it will be strange not to be here anymore." He added, though he wondered if Edmund would say he was too sentimental. He wasn't always sure they were on one line anymore, an effect from being separated for so long. "But by that time we can perhaps find a way to celebrate our birthday together, properly." He said before adjusting his teeth. The left one kept wanting to fall out, it was difficult to feel like a scary vampire with one tooth dangling loose.

Kira didn't expect anyone to understand who she was tonight, but that was alright. It was a private thing between her and her siblings anyway. Maybe Caelan once they got out of school. But that wasn't something she wanted to talk about right now. She was on her way in when she noticed something she hadn't seen in a while. The Westwick twins were together again. She knew it might not be the best idea, but she took the chance to approach them. "Hello," She greeted shyly with a smile. "You two look really creepy tonight. I like your costumes." She tried, speaking honestly. She was just glad they weren't ignoring each other anymore.
