Adorah pulled out her collection of music and flipped through until she found "Claire de Lune" by Debussy. While it was a simplified version of the classic, she had hoped that this would help ease her into the full song. She placed her her music on the piano, took a seat on the bench, and began to warm up with all white key scales. She was glad no one else was in the arts room right now because she was a little out of practice and didn't want to embarass herself. Playing in front of people always gave her anxiety, and even though she working past this, she didn't want her to her first performance at Hogwarts to be ill prepared.

The Conglomerated Arts Room was a blessing and a half. Xio often found her time split between the lakefront for some peace and tranquility, and the arts room for a chance to practice her harp. Both activities brought her much joy and composure in such a fast-paced environment like Hogwarts. There was just always things happening left and right and up and down and even the damn diagonals if she was being candid. So any chance Xio got to sit down with her harp and feel the unique vibration of the instrument as she plucked its strings. It was more than magical in a way– it was healing.
Is that... Xio was quite used to the room being relatively empty whenever she came to practice, so whenever she did find others, it was always a pleasant surprise. She heard the sound of scales fill the room. She followed the music with gentle steps until she was closer to the girl, not wanting to disrupt her warmup. Xio recognized the sheet music in front of the Ravenclaw (her name was Dora or something, she remembered from the ceremony) as the nostalgic notes of "Clair de Lune" and followed the notes with her eyes, bar by bar. A classic, Xio recalled her mother humming the song to her until she fell asleep. Xio was familiar enough with the piece that she recognized the girl's rendition as a simplified version. Xio continued to read the music until she heard the girl finish her warmup, which is when she decided to speak up. "How long have you been playing?" Though she would typically refrain from approaching others like this, Xio found she could not hold back when it came to music sometimes. She just hoped the girl wouldn't be too upset with her interruption.

Adorah looked up as the girl entered the room and stopped her scales. She was still trying to get over her fear of playing in front of other people, but today was not that day. Adorah gathered up her music and stood up from the bench. "I've been playing for about four years," she said to the new girl, clutching the music to her chest. She suddenly felt like she should be anywhere but here. She had yet to make friends, but music made her so vulnerable, and practicing a piece that wasn't at the level she wanted it in front of others made her nervous. "I think I'm done with the piano. You're more than welcome to use it."
