Pets: Charles has a snowy owl named Bubo. He chose this name because the scientific name for the snowy owl is ''Bubo scandiacus''. Not long after Bubo died Charles bought a Jobberknoll to keep him company. While the small bird doesn't make any noise, it is always by Charles' side. He named it Speckles, after the small blue speckles on its feathers.

Early Years​

In his early years, Charles could very well be described as a nerdy and lonely boy who would much rather spend his time alone or with his parents or with the elderly from the town. He did not have that many friends growing up, which was the result of him rather being by himself than surrounded by others but was close with the few he had made in primary school. From a young age, Charles aspired to work for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement like his parents and so would often ask to help out whenever they'd work at home, to great annoyance of his parents of course. When he did not want to help them, the boy could either be found in his bedroom, reading whatever book was on his father's shelf or at the local library where he would occasionally play chess with the elderly from the town - he shared his love for chess with his father and grandfather and would play against them from time to time to show them how much he had improved.

After his mother died whilst doing her job as a Hit Witch, his aspiration to become one grew even more. It did, however, make him extremely vulnerable for a couple of years, as she died two months before he would start his education at Hogwarts. Deep in his shell, Charlie was sorted into Ravenclaw and did not have that many friends during his teenage years, only ever having a handful of people he would actually call friends - most of them from the chess club he joined. With the help of his then-girlfriend Rose Holland, Charlie slowly crawled out of the shell he had been hiding in for years, becoming more outgoing and forthcoming. Returning to England to be closer to his how very unstable father, Charlie finished his education at the Scottish castle, graduating with seven NEWTs before applying for a job at the British Ministry of Magic. Passing his training with flying colours, Charlie's lifelong dream of becoming a Hit Wizard became reality in 2049.

It didn't take long for him to start realising that he was missing his former home. Knowing that staying in Great Britain would only make him more miserable, Charlie took the opportunity to move back to New Zealand once he turned eighteen and got access to the money his parents had put aside for him. While he didn't want to leave his father behind, he knew that he couldn't always be there for him and that he would have to start living his own life, too. In 2051 Charlie became a Hit Wizard for the New Zealand Ministry of Magic. He continued his exciting and sometimes dangerous life of catching lowlife criminals and other scum until he took up a temporary teaching job at Hogwarts in 2057, teaching Transfiguration to the higher years for one semester. Later that year he applied for the Defence Against the Dark Arts position and became a fulltime professor, teaching the lower years how to defend themselves from Dark Magic.
